Great atmosphere. Fantastic food. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was great all in all, very enjoyable stay. .

The only issue we had was with the shower in the room. The temperature adjustment was problematic, and the shower was too hot. We made it work, and didn’t bother them with it because everything else was so great. But it would’ve been nice to have a shower that didn’t scold us. i’m sure that if we had said something, they would have fixed it or moved it to another room, but we were exhausted and didn’t want to have to move. Lol. There was a full-size tub, so we just had baths instead.

The staff were very pleasant. The breakfasts were amazing with lots of choices of hot or cold....I'm gluten and dairy free and enjoyed my breakfasts very much.

It's a very old building so the floors were a bit creaky and I could hear the people above my room quite a lot. But then I guess I could be heard by anyone in the room below mine. My room was also on the side of the hotel which was opposite a very busy road....this did not calm down until well after midnight. This is not a fault of the Hotel of course but the original sash windows did not offer any protection from the noise. On balance I enjoyed my stay very much.

Lovely hotel with great staff, they were helpful, pleasant and friendly. The room was very clean, with tv, wifi, a kettle with a great selection of drink options. The breafast had excellent selections of both cooked and otherwise for example; cereal, fruit, meats, cheese, granola fruit yoghurt, pastries, and more, for drinks there was tea, coffee, orange or apple juice or bottled water and of course white or brown bread with a toaster available. The location is ideal, there is a local convenience store and a local family food/pub with large outside garden. The town is less than a ten minute walk away. We will definitely be coming back here again.

Breakfast was lovely and cooked to your liking. veggie options available. Room was a lovely big size and twin beds were comfy. There is a lift available, which was great when moving luggage to our room. Staff were helpful and friendly, both in person and when I had a query online prior to arriving.

Lack of car parking. There was parking available a short walk away at a sport club for a fee. There was some confusion with the hotel's booking system which showed our room as being empty, we had an unexpected visit from maintenance one morning whilst I was still in bed.

Clean and comfortable room at a reasonable price. Lift to get suitcase to First Floor. Parking easy and free on a road near the hotel. Quiet, despite being on a busy main road. Easy to walk into town and near the river walk.

To get to the hotel, particularly at busy times, is tricky, as you have to cross busy main roads at a roundabout, and there is no useful pedestrian crossing. I wouldn’t have liked to try it with small children, or if I was disabled. I know the Hotel does not have a car park, but the drop off zone could be better managed. The same 3 vehicles, including a large van, were parked there permanently throughout my stay. This should be kept free for drop offs for check in, particularly for those with children) and disabled. ( No vehicles had badges.)

Room 410 is located on the top floor and is the only room up there so it is really quiet. Although the lift only goes to the 3rd floor, it was worth the climb as it is a huge room with big shower room. The view over the town to the north and the hills beyond is excellent. The bed is super comfy. Although there is no parking on site, there is an arrangement with the cricket club a short distance away for a very very reasonable price. The receptionist was delightful and communication in advance of our arrival exceptional.

It was in a good location next to the town centre community bed, bathroom clean, but no TOILET ROLL IN BATHROOM.

Not having any Toilet roll in the bathroom on arrival asked for some at reception she said ok, on Arrival BACK AT 10.30pm we still hadn’t been given any!! So went back to the reception not once but another 3 times on the last time I decided to wait in the reception for it and when she did bring it some. It was thrust in to my hand and I Didn’t get an apology so rude. When got back in to the room there was supposed to be a key for the holder of the roll,I then had to find an object to open the holder !!!!!!!

Rob and Andrea made our visit to the Lake District simply amazing, my daughter and I were on our motorcycle and Rob organised some parking for us and an extra nights stay. The rooms were clean and warm, the property is a blend of old and new and every one we encountered that worked there were friendly and helpful, I can't say enough good things about the Lakeland Hotel..it was wonderful

The breakfast was a bit of a let down, I probably wouldn't book breakfast the next time I visit as the sausages and black pudding were not to my liking which was a shame.

Slightly disconcerting that the exterior of the hotel still proclaims to be the County Hotel. Only a small notice in the entrance indicates that its the Lakeland Kendal Hotel. Welcoming reception. The 'L' shaped room was well appointed with tea and coffee making facilities. The bedroom central heating radiator was controllable and effective. The bed was very comfortable. The interior hotel ambience is good and the room quiet in terms of guests movements etc. Breakfast was a lovely experience with freshly cooked fare of good quality, served by a lovely breakfast room 'steward', who was truly charming and efficient. I will return to enjoy its charms over a longer period later in the year.

The heated towel rail did not work and this left the bathroom rather chilly. The central heating boiler starts up at 6am and is quite noisy, fortunately I'm an early riser.

I recently stayed at this hotel for four days and had a fantastic experience. I was informed that the hotel had just been taken over by a new company, so they warned me of expected teething issues, but everything ran smoothly. The staff were incredibly accommodating, and a special mention goes to the regional manager (female , blonde hair), who personally checked in with me every morning to ensure I had no issues and accomedated me throughout. The rooms are well-equipped with everything you need. It is comfortable, clean, and practical. The location is excellent, right opposite the train station, close to shops and restaurants, and not far from some great hiking trails. A big thank you to all the staff for making my stay so enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel, and for those driving, I suggest parking in the train station car park, which is free of charge. Would definitely stay here again!
