The staff were exceptionally friendly and caring. The hotel is beautifully designed in a charming rustic style and has a true homey feel. It’s a pleasure to sit in the lounge or on the terrace, and breakfast with the breathtaking view is a real treat. Our room was lovely and very comfortable, even if a bit small. The location is excellent – set in a quiet neighborhood with scenic views and surrounded by a beautiful garden, yet within walking distance of the town center and just a short walk from the bus stop for routes 555 and 599, which take you to the Lake District’s main attractions and the stunning villages in the area.

Breakfast was great. We had to book for time slot for breakfast before we went there and it worked well for us. The menu was good and the food was tasty. We didn't wait too long and it was a very big breakfast for small ladies like us! The room view wasn't great from our room but the view from the lounge was exceptional. We took so many photos. It was a good size for us as we don't like a big room. The bed was comfortable.

We had to go uphill when we walked to the hotel and it was very tiring. But the view from the hotel was great, so we preferred to suffer to walk up the hill! It was only about 5 minutes or less so it wasn't a big problem.

Breakfast was great, the ladies servicing breakfast was fantastic. I think there names we're Lousie and Clair. they we're fantastic they went above and beyond to make sure we had every thing we wanted. Great customer service. also, the team on the front desk they did every thing to make sure our stay was perfect. we had a lovely relaxing time. the views from this hotel lovely. great location to say if you want to explore the lake district. Big Thank you all.

The walk up the hill back to the hotel lol. but you have to pay a little price for the views from this hotel.

We stayed in the classic plus room which was good. The hotel is on a hill top with amazing views of the hills and lake. The climb up to the hotel is quite steep, so driving up to the hotel is much better.

The breakfast was full table service and we thought it was a bit restricted as you had to order just one item from each segment. Tea/coffee, toast was unlimited so we filled up on toast and tea! Most hotels offer a buffet breakfast which in my opinion is much better. There were no lifts although the hotel did offer a porter service at a per bag charge.

The location is fantastic, the scenery from the hotel is magical (what ever the weather is like).The decor is modern but classic. The hotel is only a twenty minute walk to Bowness and ten minute walk to the bus stop. The staff are friendly, enthusiastic, welcoming and they are always willing to help with any problems that may arise.

The only thing I would say is a change of menu would make a difference, especially if you are staying for more than a couple of days.This isn’t a criticism rather a suggestion.

The view is amazing, you can see for miles and can see lake Windermere when sat out front. Breakfast - Fantastic choice, you could get little things like pastries, granola, yogurt etc. as a starter, then had the classic choices for the main. Had the full English, was just the right size and everything tastes great quality.

The room was comfy but didn't have a great view though we did pay for just a standard double room. I would argue slightly overpriced considering the poor view however the facilities made up for this. There is a very steep incline up to the hotel that some may struggle with, bigger cars may struggle with tight turns but easy enough to navigate.

We loved our time here. The hotel is well positioned with stunning hill views and short walk from the lake and the restaurants. The staff is incredibly helpful and nice and made our stay extra special. The restaurant and lounge areas have beautiful views and calm atmosphere, so you can slow down and really enjoy your time. The breakfast had plenty of options and the servers were polite and accommodating. The hotel is well maintained, clean and a good mix od modern and traditional. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with lovely personal touches. It is well worth spending a bit more and upgrading to the occasion rooms and rooms with a view as those are simply stunning and make the experience extra special. Absolutely worth it!

- Great shower - Hotel recently refurbishment is excellent - Breakfast excellent - Location good 15 minute downhill walk to Bowness obviously uphill back. If you know Bowness you’ll know this - Staff excellent - we booked a deal on the smallest room - surprisingly roomy and bathroom was good - Great views - Unfortunately weather wasn’t sunny but lovely patio area would be great in warm weather

Nothing Didn’t use the pool so no view although is a small pool

This was our first time visiting the Lake District. We had a wonderful stay at Hillthwaite Hotel. Our room was clean, cosy and comfortable, perfect for a weekend away. Staff were amazing! They were warm, welcoming, friendly and very attentive. Meals were superb, best we've experienced compared to other weekend getaways. Good variety to choose from the menu. Hot chocolate was extra hot, thank you 🤗 We loved walking through the town. Lots of quaint local shops, good coffee spots and restaurants only a 20 min walk from hotel. We'll definitely visit again.
