The room is very neat and clean, exactly the same as you see in the photos. The beddings are comfortable. I really like the breakfast there, you can choose among three or four different meals. The hosts are very friendly and helpful, they helped to keep our suitcase after we check out, I really appreciate that.

The place is a little bit far away from the Windermere railway station (about 20 mins walk) and there is no shops nearby, we need to walk to either Windermere or Bowness for food. But there is a bus stop right outside, we can take 599 there.

Absolutely fantastic stay! The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, going above and beyond to make us feel at home. The BnB itself was spotless, cosy, and beautifully decorated, with thoughtful touches throughout. The breakfast was simply outstanding – fresh, delicious, and catered perfectly to our preferences. The location was ideal, and the hosts were full of helpful local tips, making our trip even more enjoyable. It’s clear they take great pride in what they do, and it truly shows. We couldn’t recommend this place more highly – a perfect getaway! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Friendly hosts Very clean , modern decor

Gorgeous property in an excellent location, right between Windermere (10 minute walk) and Bowness-on-Windermere (10-15 minute walk). Jane and Paul were wonderful welcoming hosts, always on hand to help and gave us lots of information on the local area including places to visit, eat and drink etc. Our room was lovely, very spacious and extremely clean with lots of special little touches such as a basket in the bathroom with various bits like make up wipes, cotton buds, a shower cap, flannels etc. and a hair dryer in one of the dressing table drawers. There was also a teddy bear on the bed when we arrived with a Kendal Mint Cake, which was also a very nice touch. We stayed in room 3 and the view out of the window was stunning. Additionally, the TV in our room had a DVD player and there was a shelf in the entrance hall full of DVDs to borrow which was very handy. As beautiful as the room was, the bed was definitely the highlight. Honestly, one of the comfiest beds I’ve slept in. 10/10. The breakfast was delicious and there were lots of options. The full English and the waffle, both the maple syrup option and the fruit option were lovely. We also loved the cabinet that was stocked full of cereal, fruit, yogurts, pastries, juice etc. Jane and Paul were brilliant at breakfast. Very attentive. We are picky eaters and they kindly adapted our breakfasts to our liking. We also loved the convenience of having the breakfast menu in the room to browse and texting our order and the time we wanted to eat, the night before, so there were no long waits at breakfast. Overall we had a fantastic stay and will definitely book again when we next visit the Lake District. Thank you for a fantastic few days :)

It was a perfect stay for our time at the Lakes! Jane and Paul are the perfect hosts, welcoming and friendly, full of recommendations if it's your first time! The accomodation is just between Windermere and Bowness, both at walkable distance, and just 15 Mins away from Windermere train station. Loved it! Will be definitely considering for our next visit!

The host Jane was wonderful and cooks an incredible breakfast, fresh every day. She was so knowledgeable on the area and there are plenty of leaflets available on local attractions. The room was spotless, shower nice and hot, with lovely touches like biscuits every day and a Kendal mint cake on arrival! Located right between Windemere and Bowness-On-Windermere, an easy walk either way. We would come here again and again.

Excellent 2 night stay at Montfort Cottage Guest House. Our room was cosy, clean, and had a beautiful view over the mountains. The bathroom was a good size and had a lovely powerful shower. We enjoyed the breakfast provided where you could choose different options. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The property is located in a quiet area between Windermere and Bowness so easy to walk to both places. We were able to find on street parking near the property.

The property was very welcoming and modern , It was very clean and had all amenities , The room had good views of the mountains and was light and set out well with en-suite , Jane was organised and very friendly and had excellent communication regarding check in The guest house was walking distance to both Bowness-en-Windermere and Windermere itself Jane was very knowledgeable about the area and recommended places of interests

Nothing it was a perfect stay

Jane and Paul are attentive and welcoming hosts. They are very helpful and knowledgeable. The property is conveniently located equidistantly between Windermere and Bowness. There is ample roadside parking at the front of the property. The rooms are well done up and kept clean with sufficient toiletries. Breakfast was hearty and delicious. We felt well looked after and would definitely return.

Welcoming traditional guest house in a quiet area about halfway in between Windermere and Bowness. 10 minute walk either way. Great breakfasts and positive interaction with fellow guests, in our case Swedish, American and Bristol!

Nothing really, weather could have been kinder on the Saturday, but the guesthouse does have umbrellas you can borrow!

During my stay, I had the pleasure of experiencing the warm hospitality of the hosts, a lovely couple. Their dedication to cleanliness was evident throughout the accommodation, creating a comforting and cozy environment. The room was tastefully decorated, exuding a welcoming atmosphere.
