Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was our anniversary and they put petals on the bed and a bottle of Prosecco in our room which was a lovely touch. Room was spacious and clean - we stayed in room 6 (Shute) and we loved that we got breakfast served in the room. Breakfast was excellent, especially the pancakes! Excellent location in the middle of both Windermere and Bowness (15 minutes walk to both). Great value for money.

Very good location :) Parking behind the hotel and some spaces along the road. Run doodle is very charming warm and welcoming. we stayed in room 6 it was absolutely beautiful. The bed was so comfortable and lovely pillows had the best sleep here. Tea and coffee in the room with a kettle. Tv in the room and WiFi. Dressing robes in the wardrobe with hanging space with an iron and small ironing board. There is also a hairdryer in the dressing table. Lots of space in the draws too. Really good powerful and hot shower with lovely fluffy big towels. The room was nice and warm at all times but the added bonus of an oil filled radiator if you get a little cold. We had breakfast in our room both days and it was so good very hot a fresh tasted great. Fresh juices and fresh coffee. The staff are so polite and friendly.

Very nice stay B&B run by friendly staff. The room was gorgeous and very clean and tidy. Facilities were great, clean shower and bathroom. Free parking round the back was great as the road is quite narrow. The building is very welcoming and nicely decorated throughout. Located right in the middle of Bowness-on-Windermere and Windermere town, it was a 15 minute walk to get to either central point. Nice touches with having access to fridges and freezers, also leaving a bottle of wine in our room on arrival. Staff were very friendly and helpful, very welcoming. The room was gorgeous (superior four poster) and very clean, being served breakfast in our room was great too, enjoying it at our own leisure and in PJ’s! Great choice of starters; cereal, fruit bowls, yoghurts and choices of teas and coffee. Main breakfast again lots of choice and variations to please everybody, we had the cooked Cumbrian breakfast which was delicious.

Great location, fantastic breakfast. We had the attic room and it was a perfect escape for 3 nights. Enough room for two of us to spread out with the lounge area and close to everything we wanted to do in the Lake District. The The room was really nicely presented too, loved the bookcase and furniture was gorgeous.

Parking was a little tight, especially when the place had more guests but that's to be expected in a place like the Lake District I guess! The bathroom was a little dated, especially the toilet which didn't have a very strong flush, but this wasn't too bad especially considering the overall aesthetic of the place which was beautiful.

Location. Less than 15 minutes walk from the town centre and Windermere station. Facilities: Beautiful room, beautiful bathroom, beautiful window view. So fresh and clean that I felt overwhelmed processing the pure luck of its availability. Breakfast was wonderful. I went with the oats, honey, blueberries, yoghurt and fruit salad, but the aromas of bacon, eggs, mushrooms and tomatoes could have easily pulled me to flexitarianism. Staff were all exceptionally warm and welcoming. I was left feeling truly cared for.

When there's nothing to complain about, how does one go about filling up this space? The property Wi-fi connection seemed hit and miss, but the O2 coverage was excellent for the region. So, something of a non-issue, for me at least. I regret not making time to take pictures of the room, the view, and especially the bathroom tiles. Whoever put it all together deserves all the commissions their work attracts. My major regret is that this spur of the moment booking was only for two days; I would have gladly spent a substantially longer period in the area.

When we arrived, we were shown to our room and our host asked us whether we’d like a drink of fruit juice which was very welcome and he brought it up to our room for us, which was a nice start. Each of the rooms in Rum Doodle is themed after one of the characters in the book The Ascent of Rum Doodle,give it a read and you’ll appreciate the guesthouse much more as a little quirky bits and pieces which refer to the book our room reflected this and was very entertaining and comfortable, after a very restful night, we enjoyed a cozy breakfast in the breakfast room which was delicious and well prepared, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We liked it so much that we booked for the next week on our way back from our trip to Scotland.

Had such a lovely stay at Rum Doodle - was even given a glass of wine by the owner within minutes of arrival! We had a bath in our room which we took full advantage of - was so relaxing. Good location to drive around the town and walk to and from dinner in the evening. The bed was super comfy - slept like a baby! And the breakfast; my lord, it was delicious! My partner had the eggs and salmon while I had the pancakes. Both were delicious. Thank you so much Rum Doodle for such a lovely stay

Our stay at Rum Doodle B&B was delightful! The rooms are cozy and beautifully themed, with thoughtful touches that make you feel right at home. The breakfast was delicious, with a variety of fresh, locally sourced options. The location is ideal, just a short walk from the lake and local attractions. The hosts were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful stay…including glass of wine on arrival & balloons to celebrate our anniversary. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the Lake District!

-The rooms aren’t very soundproof -Wasn’t a problem for us but be careful the road / car park access is steep

It was beautifully decorated and situated. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and professional. The room was gorgeous, the bed was the comfiest we’ve slept in in ages. The breakfast was delicious and the hotel was situated in a quiet road. The parking, although tight, was perfectly manageable.

Couldn’t think of a thing to not like about Rum Doodle. The television in the room was a tad outdated and the speakers were quite tinny. But besides that it is an absolutely perfect place to stay.

We really loved our stay at Rum Doodle!! The B&B is located just a short walk away from shops and restaurants in Windermere and Bowness-on-Windemere and a short drive away from great hiking points. The room was great and comfortable and had everything we needed but breakfast was the real highlight. I'll be thinking of those banana and berry pancakes for the foreseeable! The lady who bought us our breakfast each morning was also wonderful - such a ray of sunshine and a delight to talk to each morning!
