We had room 10. Lovely welcome and greeting by Pam, room was clean and comfortable, good water pressure, nice toiletries, there were hooks on the backs of doors, plenty of storage, no knick-knacks around so all the surfaces were all available for our stuff, this is always a bonus - no clutter. Kettle, fridge, instant coffee and tea available, with more to collect downstairs if we needed, fresh milk available. Good breakfast, served with a smile. Lovely place to stay with on site parking. In-between Windermere and Bowness, so an easy 10 min walk either way to lots of cafes and restaurants for dinner. Beautiful scenery and walks just a short drive away, once you escape the very crowded towns.

Beds were a bit soft, but that's our personal preference. Breakfast coffee was weak, also a personal preference. The tea was perfect!

My room was so cozy and perfect for me. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the entire room was clean, and it had everything I could have needed and more for a comfortable and luxurious stay. The breakfast was delightful and from what I remember, was sourced locally, which I appreciated. The staff were all so kind and accommodating, and Pam made sure to say hello each morning at breakfast. She made sure that guests were alright, that they slept comfortably, and asked if we needed anything at all. I loved my experience here, and would absolutely stay again.

There was not much I didn't like. I had to check in late due to transportation and Pam stayed and waited on me. I was a bit stressed because I arrived about 10 minutes earlier than I had said I was going to and I rang the doorbell and called multiple times, but no on answered. Being a solo female traveler, this can be quite scary thinking you will not be granted access to your accommodation when requested, and I became quite stressed I would have to figure out alternate plans. Pam came to the door about 10 minutes after my arrival time, and let me in which was a relief. Picking up when I first rang would have alleviated a lot of the stress I was feeling, however.

The Owners and Staff are all extremely welcoming, knowledgeable and happy to help in anyway they can. Could not fault any part of our stay at all. The room was ready even though we arrived early and was clean and comfortable with quality toiletries in the en-suite; L’Occitan and Bath Store products. Plentiful tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Plenty of options at breakfast which we found to be really good quality ingredients. Parking is ample, you’re not ‘squeezed’ into spaces or blocking anyone in. Windermere itself is about a 5-6 minute walk (slight uphill) with Bowness and the lake around a 10 minute walk downhill but there are regular buses which stop pretty much outside the property. All in all, I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending and we will definitely stay again. Thank you all for what was a great weekend 👍🏻

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality. We were served a cup of tea and homemade shortbread on arrival — the shortbread was absolutely delicious! I had originally booked Room 7 for two nights as a surprise for my partner’s 40th birthday, but we ended up booking an extra night in Room 12. When we checked into Room 7, there was a birthday card from the Hawksmoor team and a selection of little chocolates for my partner — such a thoughtful touch that made the trip feel even more special. The rooms themselves were spotless, each with a lovely bathroom and very comfortable bed. I especially loved the L’Occitane products provided in the rooms — they smelt divine. I’d definitely recommend booking Room 12, as the balcony offers a lovely view of the stream in the woodlands behind the guest house. Breakfast each morning was absolutely delicious — everything was spot on, especially the fried bread! Helen was serving breakfast each day of our stay, and she was brilliant. She has such a great sense of humour, and we really appreciated her genuine hospitality. She truly made us feel welcome and well looked after. Thank you, Helen, and thank you to the rest of the team for such a wonderful stay!

When we arrived Pamela met us and made us a pot of tea and homemade shortbread She was kind, friendly helpful and went the extra mile . An asset to the guest house. The room was clean, comfortable and had plenty of space. It was my husbands retirement and the owner had left us a bottle of wine and chocolates. So kind. There were plenty of towels. Two towels had been made into swans on the bed and were sprinkled in rose petals. It was lovely. Breakfast was 10 out of 10. The cook was very good. Plenty of free parking.

Guest house was Wonderful !!!

What a find! This place is absolutely fabulous, from the minute we entered the property the kindness of the staff was just outstanding. We were very early, but there were no grumbles and said our room was ready, went through everything with us, there was nothing that was too much trouble. I've never been to a place to stay where you felt so at home, comfortable, clean and just simply lovely. All staff were amazing, I can't say this enough, they go the extra mile! Breakfast the following morning, again nothing was too much trouble and the food was delicious as well. We will definitely be going back, if you can get a room here then definitely book it, it's only a 5-10 minute walk into town and we can recommend Hooked (if you like fish). Thank you to the lovely ladies who looked after us, you are simply fabulous 💖

Excellent location, easy to walk to both Windermere and Bowness. The breakfast was very very good and the staff and service were first class. The room was clean and comfortable with Excellent lighting, accessories and even had a wine chiller/fridge. The room had everything you could wish for and very well presented. We had an excellent 3 night stay and would highly recommend, we will definitely be coming back.

The weather could have been better on Friday and Monday, but that's nature for you. Even the weather didn't spoil a perfect stay.

The room was a little dated but had charm and was very comfortable. The bed was large and super comfy and bedding was soft. The Bathroom was modern and a very nice bath and shower. We were on the ground floor and it had good access. Breakfast was incredible. The location is great, close to the town and lake so we didn't really need the car much with pubs and restaurants nearby. For me, the most outstanding thing was the service. Pam was incredible and made us all feel very special. Her smile and enthusiasm lit up the day.

The breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice, it was in a great location, 10 minute walk up hill to Windermere or 15 minute walk down hill to Bowness. Hotel was clean and well presented and the room was comfortable with great shower and tea and coffee facilities. The young lady who served us breakfast was polite and friendly.

We were in Room 5 which I would say was on the top floor or the loft, although we could manage this after walking 10 miles each day climbing 2 flights of stairs was hard going. Think this should be mentioned when advertised or in the booking comments.

We were offered a coffee upon checking in which was appreciated. Breakfast was cooked fresh to our requirements and were good quality products. Good choice of cereals and fruit salad. The room was spacious along with the bathroom. Toiletries provided and were luxury toiletries. Coffee making facility and coffee sachets and biscuits provided daily along with milk. Bed was comfortable. Large tv was provided. Mini fridge was ideal for snacks and decor was lovely. Great location between Bowness and Windermere with a bus stop nearby. Staff were friendly. Local pub within walking distance.

There was nothing we disliked.
