Good location in centre of Lancaster.Not visited Lancaster before and had a Theatre visit booked so chose hotel location close to Theatre for easy access : plus liked the look on the website. Price was good and chose B&B x 2 nights. However ate in Restaurant first night and food was great so decided to do same again next night. Choice of food from menu evening meal was good and breakfast was substantial. Good quality products for tea/coffee etc in room and fresh milk provided upon request in a small flask daily. I particularly liked the bathroom showering/lotion product - The White Company, one of my favourites. Don’t see it much these days. Staff went out of their way to accommodate us, especially with my few mobility issues. Had asked for ground floor accommodation if possible and was given an Accessible room - wonderful. Also asked about parking(!!) and that was sorted with no issues at all. The super king size bed was really comfortable and view from our room overlooked the canal

Breakfast was definitely quality over quantity, which suited me fine, hubby would have liked a larger cooked option. I think for the price a large n small cooked breakfast could be offered but it was very good all the same

The only prob i found was with the beds, mine was very bouncy n the mattress cover makes the sheets slip straight off, turn a couple of times no sheet on bed. Plus only feather pillows means you are very flat, they go above n beyond with all the lovely extras ❤️ so I can forgive the beds.à

It was a beautiful building in a central location. The rooms were lovely - beautifully decorated and furnished. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious! Highly recommend it.

Parking was very limited and the public car park across the road was pricy and the ticket machine wasn’t working properly so it had to be done online. A real nuisance on a particularly wet evening! Obviously not the hotels fault! There were 2 small things that would have made our stay more comfortable- there was nowhere to put anything down in the bathroom other than the toilet seat or floor. A stool or table would have been helpful. Also the windows in both bedroom and bathroom faced directly into other residences so blinds or a net curtain in both rooms would have been much appreciated for our privacy.

The staff were excellent and the pub and decor was super. The food was also of the highest quality. The staff also looked after our luggage after we had checked out on Sunday morning, as we were not due to catch our train home until early evening.

The main bar area was a little on the chilly side on Friday afternoon/evening. No such problems on Saturday though. Could do with a new toaster at breakfast but then again that may have been down to the operator. I would have given a 10 and exceptional otherwise.

One of the best pub breakfasts we've had. Very generous and great quality. We had dinner here on Saturday night, and that was excellent. High-end in-room amenities from the White Company, and a quality coffee machine. Friendly staff and good location, about a 12-minute walk from the train station and 10 minutes from the bus station. Overall I think our stay was excellent value for money.

The TV had very limited digital channels without BBC, ITV, or Channel 4. The bed and pillows were too soft for our taste.

The staff were pleasant helpful and were very organised. The room was a good temperature and was clean and comfortable. There was a lovely selection of drinks and thoughtful extras in the room. The location was good for all the city centre amenities.

The bathroom was all show and just not fit for purpose. It was clean and modern. No shelving for your toiletries. The shower was so small I felt like I was been drowned. It had great water pressure but it was so confined it was unpleasant. Both myself and my husband remarked on how small the shower cubicle was. It was a shame as the rest of the room was so nice.

From the moment we arrived until the day we left, our stay at this beautiful hotel was lovely. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The room was perfect, offering everything we could possibly need and more. We had a lovely, peaceful sleep thanks to the comfortable bed and the air conditioning. The breakfast was a definite highlight—easily the best I've had among all the hotels I've stayed at in Lancaster. We're already looking forward to our next visit. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel — the location was perfect, and the breakfast was definitely the highlight! The parking was secure and easy to access, which made things very convenient. The only downside was some noise from outside around 3 a.m., which disturbed my sleep a bit. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’d be happy to book again for my next visit.

Noise

Central location in Lancaster city centre, it has a top restaurant and a roaring log fire! Excellent and varied breakfasts included. Friendly (but not intrusive) staff: the Receptionist (Will) remembered our names throughout our 4 day stay!

Very noisy wedding on the Saturday night! Although all quiet-ish by 11 so not bad - except the banging door at Reception which reverberated through our bedroom walls 🫩 so next visit we’ll avoid Room 10!

Lovely big room with a good selection of beverages provided in a basket- various teas, coffees, even Horlicks and a flask of cold fresh milk. Friendly helpful staff, one even walked with me to the main street to explain a short cut round the one way system from the Car Park. We also had a delicious meal served in the bar and were happy not to have to go out to eat in the pouring rain.

My only negative comment was regarding the bathroom. The toilet seat didn't fit the toilet, it was much too small and wasn't securely fastened so it moved about.
