It was a beautiful building in a central location. The rooms were lovely - beautifully decorated and furnished. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious! Highly recommend it.

Parking was very limited and the public car park across the road was pricy and the ticket machine wasn’t working properly so it had to be done online. A real nuisance on a particularly wet evening! Obviously not the hotels fault! There were 2 small things that would have made our stay more comfortable- there was nowhere to put anything down in the bathroom other than the toilet seat or floor. A stool or table would have been helpful. Also the windows in both bedroom and bathroom faced directly into other residences so blinds or a net curtain in both rooms would have been much appreciated for our privacy.

The staff were pleasant helpful and were very organised. The room was a good temperature and was clean and comfortable. There was a lovely selection of drinks and thoughtful extras in the room. The location was good for all the city centre amenities.

The bathroom was all show and just not fit for purpose. It was clean and modern. No shelving for your toiletries. The shower was so small I felt like I was been drowned. It had great water pressure but it was so confined it was unpleasant. Both myself and my husband remarked on how small the shower cubicle was. It was a shame as the rest of the room was so nice.

One of the best pub breakfasts we've had. Very generous and great quality. We had dinner here on Saturday night, and that was excellent. High-end in-room amenities from the White Company, and a quality coffee machine. Friendly staff and good location, about a 12-minute walk from the train station and 10 minutes from the bus station. Overall I think our stay was excellent value for money.

The TV had very limited digital channels without BBC, ITV, or Channel 4. The bed and pillows were too soft for our taste.

From the moment we arrived until the day we left, our stay at this beautiful hotel was lovely. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The room was perfect, offering everything we could possibly need and more. We had a lovely, peaceful sleep thanks to the comfortable bed and the air conditioning. The breakfast was a definite highlight—easily the best I've had among all the hotels I've stayed at in Lancaster. We're already looking forward to our next visit. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Lovely big room with a good selection of beverages provided in a basket- various teas, coffees, even Horlicks and a flask of cold fresh milk. Friendly helpful staff, one even walked with me to the main street to explain a short cut round the one way system from the Car Park. We also had a delicious meal served in the bar and were happy not to have to go out to eat in the pouring rain.

My only negative comment was regarding the bathroom. The toilet seat didn't fit the toilet, it was much too small and wasn't securely fastened so it moved about.

It's situated close to all the shops, restaurants and bars. There is a courtyard to sit outside, a bar area and a dining room . The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was a reasonable size, the bed was comfortable and it was quiet,we had a good nights sleep. There was air conditioning but we only used it for half an hour to cool the room down. The shower was powerful and there was plenty hot water. We would use this hotel again.

We stayed at the Toll House as was a stop over prior to doing Ingleton Waterfalls trail the following day. The breakfast room was beautifully presented with table service. The cooked breakfast was very tasty and should you wanted to you could have had cereal, pastries, yoghurts etc prior to having something hot. Certainly set us up for our walk and didn't need to eat until early evening. Well done!

No parking at the property but it was fine as we parked on the station car park and walked to the hotel. Could be a challenge if you have mobility issues, they have 4 parking spaces at the hotel but you would need to ring them to reserve a space, think the charge is £5 if you are a resident, which seems reasonable.

In a great location for visiting historic sights and close to shops and restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean and the room was tidied and stocked up with tea, coffee and biscuits every day and also clean towels. Breakfast and dinner were good with various options available.

Small thing. The shower cubicle could have something to sit the body wash and shampoo on so you don't have to keep bending down... especially for more elderly guests.

This is a lovely hotel we had a hospital visit and it is walking distance to the hospital it is so close to shops in Lancaster great location the hotel was clean staff were friendly and very helpful food was excellent room had the best bathroom and lots of great extras like a real coffee machine and very cute flask for fresh milk just made a stressful hospital procedure just so better than it could have been. We will be going again in better circumstances !!! Food was also fantastic !!

Great friendly staff who were courteous and helpful. Lovely food on our first evening in the restaurant. Lovely spacious room with a great shower. Overall a good two night stay in Lancaster. Your staff are a credit to you.

We had a blip on returning from our day at the races to find that our pre booked parking space at the hotel was taken by someone unknown. One of the staff asked around the diners if it was their vehicle but to no avail. This put a dampener on the evening slightly as we were going to go out for a meal but now had to stay until whoever was parked there removed their car. We were given the option of parking across the road at the public car park but because our friends had valuables in their car they were reluctant to do so. This though did not spoil our memory of a great weekend staying at the Toll House and we will definitely be returning as we have on several occasions.
