Staff was helpful with the luggage. Cute old inn. Nice breakfast with good fruit salad and excellent coffee (best cappuccino I had on the trip). Very comfortable beds. Proper windows so you can let the room cool off at night, a nice change after our previous place. Interesting retrofitted bathroom. Great bakery across the street and good location in the middle of town.

Unfortunately, could hear the music and tvs from the bar until closing. I was able to drown it out with headphones and ear plugs, but worth noting. My travelling partner is feeble and did not take a shower because there was no handbar or anywhere to grip on to get into the bath/shower.

The property was beautiful. Very quaint bedrooms, immaculate with excellent facilities - coffee machine, earplugs and a range of toiletries. Upon booking I mentioned it was our anniversary and when we arrived, they had decorated the bedroom with banners and scattered anniversary confetti on the bed and left us an ice cold bucket with Prosecco in. The greeting we got on arrival was wonderful and friendly. The bed was so comfy and the shower was fab. We ate at the venue and the food was fantastic.

We loved everything about the property we were a little disappointed with the area - we thought there would be a bit more going on in the area but all we found was a row of shops - nothing interesting.

The food, in particular the breakfast were excellent. The location is perfect in a lovely little town and only a 25 minute drive from the Lakes. No parking but there are two car parks within a very short walk. Lovely walks around the town and lots to do - plenty of shops, pubs and a good choice of restaurants.

The only thing I didn’t like about the pub itself was all of the tv’s. They seem to cover every inch of wall space and there’s no escape from them. Such a shame as it’s a lovely old building. I understand if that’s what brings in custom and makes money but it just doesn’t make it look very nice.

All the staff we talked to were polite and helpful. The room was clean and well presented and the breakfast was very good. Location is great and the pub and rooms are full of old world charm.

Our room was immediately above a speaker that was playing very loud music in the pub below. People were also singing and shouting quite loudly until the pub closed at 11pm. Whilst it didn't spoil our visit the music did seem unnecessarily loud. The disposable ear plugs left in the room where probably a give away as to what was to come although we didn't find they helped. Everything did quieten down after 11pm so it wasn't a major issue.

Love the village but unfortunately we were in room 3 ( which is lovely) which meant we were at front of building. You hear everything in this room but the worst is the very early morning when people are out in the street or bind getting emptied, dogs barking it just is not soundproof at all. It’s our second stay and the last time we were in a back room and it was quieter. Love the place but the sleep wasn’t great

Obviously it’s an old building and hard to soundproof, there is ear buds left in room to help with noise, but really not very effective

The room was lovely. Big bed and quite spacious in general. Plenty of hot drinks in the room to make, including a coffee machine. The location was nice, we had a short walk around the neighbouring streets and thought the area was lovely. The breakfast in the morning was good. There was plenty of choice including hot food options. The lady serving us was helpful and polite.

The guest accommodation floors were really warm. The bathroom was quite nice, the ceiling above the shower really let the room down in general as it was quite moldy. I would assume this is because there's not enough ventilation despite there being a fan in the bathroom.

Breakfast very good with plenty of choices. Side plates for toast etc would have been helpful as only dinner plates available and not a lot of space on table. Bedroom and en-suite very clean and comfortable bed. Tray with Tea / coffee and biscuits in room. Liked the staying in the very old building with original features. Staff always pleasant and helpful.

We stayed for 1 Saturday night only. Loud music playing until midnight which we found very noisy. Our room was above the bar. This was the only room available when booking. We were given earplugs which helped. This is not a complaint - but only thing we didn’t like.

It is a beautiful historic building, the staff are very friendly & helpful, the room was clean & comfortable although not very suitable for tall people! I'm only 5'5" & I had to duck my head to enter the bathroom! Great location, nice breakfast in the morning. Lovely place.

There was nothing I didn't like, the only little issue I had was I came back just before the pub closed & there was no food available, I couldn't even buy a bag of crisps as they'd closed the tills so maybe have something available?? I survived as I weigh too much anyway 😅 but would have been nice to have some food!

Room was very comfortable, facilities were more than adequate, pub area gets very full but with a great atmosphere and excellent beer garden. Menu is very good and well priced compared to other local venues. The breakfast menu is extensive and food quality is exceptional. The building itself is quirky with walls and doorways etc all out of skew. It all makes for talking points. Lovely place

Can't think of a single thing to not like about this place

We frequently stay here when visiting family in the area. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, the bar’s lovely and cosy. The food’s great and the staff are so welcoming and friendly. Last time we stayed there was even a welcome box for the dog which was an especially nice touch and really made our trip (hate places that charge you extra for your dog and seem to try and justify it by leaving a tatty old blanket in a corner, but definitely not here).

Nothing to dislike.
