Located just off the main centre of Bowness it has the convenience of all the facilities without the noise and bustle of the crowds . The public areas are clean tidy well presented with plenty of space for eating and relaxing. Our room was a cosy double in the main building and was well set out with all the facilities and comfortable for a two night stay. The general cleanliness of the room, the bar and restaurant area was very good. Breakfast was very satisfying with enough choice of cold and freshly cooked options for all tastes. Staff are pleasant approachable and ready to help.

The location is fantastic as the Angel Inn is very near to the lake, but since the buildings are up a gentle slope, and there are many stairs to navigate, it might not be an ideal place to stay for the physically-challenged or those with very young children. For breakfast, some items are served buffet-style while the main dish must be ordered from a menu. The food and service at the restaurant was very good. From my 3rd floor room, I had a beautiful view of the lake and the room was very spacious.

What I found disappointing was that when I booked two suites with a view of the lake, only my suite suits the description. The other suite was a basement room with no view. I talked to the manager upon checking-out that when we look at description of rooms on booking.com, the rooms are priced according to the amenities provided, and in this case I paid a higher price for something that I didn't get. I requested that he inform booking.com to change the description so that other people will not end up paying higher than they ought to.

We have stayed at The Angel Inn numerous times before the Inn House Group took it over so we were a bit cautious in booking again, however we were not disappointed. The decor and Christmas decorations on arrival were beautiful and the food was amazing and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Although we had one of the small rooms in the hotel it was still excellent and fit for purpose have booked again for 2025. Excellent location for shops and restaurants.

There was nothing that we didn't like, the only thing would be if there was more parking even though we always got a spot not sure where you would park if all the parking spaces were taken.

Fantastic stay at the angel inn, I visit the beautiful Bowness often and it’s the first time I’ve been here let alone stay. I wasn’t disappointed. We stayed in room 33 annexed across the road with a lake view. The room was full of charm and character befitting of the view! Spotlessly clean with free parking. The pub is lovely, I cannot comment on the evening meals as we didn’t dine here but the full English breakfast in the morning was delicious! All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.

Ok, tiny moan! Breakfast stops a little early for me 9.30am, and the check out time of 10.30 was a little early for me too! That’s just me though!

This hotel is fabulous, we were really happy with the location. The rooms are spotless and ideal for a few nights away. Also it is dog friendly. The outside seating area in the sunshine was amazing. Staff were so kind and friendly. We only ate one evening in the hotel and unfortunately the food was not hot enough and there was too much salad. The breakfast self service is also great, you can ask for cooked breakfast at the bar. We will visit again

Nothing to not like other than the food could be hotter and the breakfast fry up was not cooked properly.

Lack of parking a huge frustration. Even the lack of a drop off area. Had to park nearly a mile away.

Great location, short walk to shops, lakeside, and boat tours. The food at breakfast was great, with lots of options and great value for money. Really friendly and approachable team at the venue and nice decor. Very enjoyable stay. We didn't bring our dog this time, but we know we can as they are very accommodating for dogs with treats, water, and food bowls. Free onsite parking was appreciated, too! Great lake view from bedroom in the Annexe.

We were at the top of the building, rooms were really large and lovely en suites We could have stayed in just the one room as the sofa bed was in a separate room giving you the privacy you would need, The only issue was it was very warm and difficult to cool the rooms even though large fans where provided. I wouldn't think this is a problem normally as not often we reach above 30 degrees. The view from the room was spectacular though.

As stated above the only thing was the temperature in the room. Only solution would be air conditioning.

We liked the Angel,a great position and room very good.

Breakfasts!! We always look forward to a good full English,however we must say that the meal here was one of the worst we have had☹️ Dry,hard bacon,rock hard hash browns, undercooked fried eggs,very poor scrambled eggs- not good!

I liked the decor of the public parts of the hotel and the room. I enjoyed sitting at the little table by the window in our room (31) and having a cup of tea and looking at the view. Perfect. Our room was in the building across the road.

There were two things I didn't like about the room. It would be very good if there was something to put your suitcase on to empty it, besides putting it on the floor, like a suitcase stand. The second, and important I think, is to have a hook on the back of the bathroom door to hang your dressing gown or clothes whilst taking a shower or getting dressed. I was disappointed about this. Everything else was perfect.
