We stayed in the cottage, a small little house on the back of the property. It’s peaceful, well kept, clean and comfortable.

The WiFi doesn’t really work in the cottage, so if you are planning to work it’s not the best place. The cottage is right next to the car park, it can get a bit noisy in the morning. Check out (10:30) was a bit early.

We had a lovely weekend away for my birthday. This is the 3rd time we’ve been to Westbourne and it was fantastic. We would never stay anywhere else when visiting Bowness on Windermere. The owners are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We stayed in the cottage which was spotless. The bed is so comfy - and after a long walk, it was just what was needed, along with the fabulous jacuzzi bath. We have previously stayed in rooms in the main house which are also of the same standard as the cottage- just without the luxury of the jacuzzi bath. I am not a big fan of cooked breakfast and am very picky when I do have it. However the breakfast at Westbourne is of a high standard with high quality ingredients cooked perfectly. Goes without saying that we would highly recommend staying at The Westbourne when visiting Windermere. Perfect ⭐️

The staff there are very friendly. They always greeted us with bright smiles, that make us feel right at home. We forgot to close our car window, and one of the gentlemen kindly reminded us, thanks again. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. And service was great. It’s a great location, just about 10-minute walk to Bowness Pier and the town center. All in all, it was a delightful and very cost-effective stay in Bowness. We will definitely choose to stay here again if we return to Bowness. There’s an Asian food restaurant nearby run by a Vietnamese family. The food there is absolutely fabulous, and the staff are very friendly. It’s definitely worth a try.

The curtains don’t quite cover the entire window properly. The bed is a bit too soft, but considering the price, we really have nothing to complain about. It’s just a suggestion for improvement.

Excellent area for the shopping centre and down to the lake. Bed for me was comfy. Lots of storage space. Good parking. Peacefull Good tea tray, nice toiletries, fluffy towels . Polite host.

The room was cold when we booked in at 2, heating should really go on at 1.45 or earlier to take the chill off the room as we were both shivering, maybe a little heater in to keep warm when radiator is off. Shower pressure very weak so didn't bother using . Shoe tray outside room but if this is meant to be used disposable slippers should be left out as far to cold for just socks

Everything was great apart from the below. We ordered breakfast but slept through the time as it was a little too early for us. The cottage is beautiful lots of room, but wifi is poor. Free parking is great as I didn't need to worry about the car. Good location for bars resturants and the lake.

We unfortunately came across a very abusive guest. The man was staying in the room (with the large window) above the front door. We were waiting for the rest of our party outside at 915am, the man opened the window swore at us and slammed the window. We were out all day and night, so unfortunately didnt get to mention this to the staff/owners it did put a dampener on our stay.

Great location, about 100m from the main road through Bowness. The pictures provided don't really show how close the main street is. The marina is just a short walk down the main street also. Room was comfortable and clean. There was an opening window, which was appreciated. Breakfast was plentiful and very nice. Staff were very pleasant. Private parking was a bonus.

Exceptionally clean and well tended to for a really affordable price. We paid £138 for 2 nights for a small double with en-suite. The staff were excellent! Friendly, helpful and pleasant.

The mattress was way too soft for our liking. Breakfast ingredients were a bit poor but the setting was really cute. The small double is really small. We are two small women but I can imagine it would get tight for a bigger couple or for a stay of more than two nights.

This was our 4th stay at the Westbourne, this time we stayed in the cottage, it was lovely....comfortable, clean, nice and warm and the jacuzzi bath was great! Breakfast is always very nice and the owners are very welcoming even when we are late! Nothing is too much trouble. It's always a pleasure to stay, and we'll certainly be back again in the future. It's close to all the amenities in Bowness but far enough away to be peaceful and quiet.

Location was very good, just a short walk into the town centre and has car parking. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean.

The only issue we had, was the size of the room. We knew it was a small room before arrival, but hadn’t realised how small. After a day out walking in the rain, it was difficult finding places for wet clothing. If you are staying for any length of time you would definitely need one of the larger rooms, or it would be ok for a single guest. Apart from that a very nice place and staff.

We've just returned from a 2 night stay. Convenient location to walk into Bowness centre, with the first pub / shop being around a minute or 2 away then you could stroll down into the centre & lake front. There are lake cruises which we took & went from Bowness to Ambleside. The area has plenty of lovely shops, bars & restaurants. It's only about 1 mile into Windermere which we visited also. Breakfast was pre ordered the evening before & served to you, but they always asked if you wanted more of things so you could if you wanted any. We stayed for our anniversary & I'd contacted them prior to ask if they could arrange a bottle as a surprise on arrival, which they did just the one I'd asked for & reasonably priced. I'd booked a small double but on arrival they informed us they'd given us a larger room as it was available, which was very much appreciated. There was also a comfortable lounge with some games in & an iron / board although we didn't use this area. The room had tea / coffee making facilities. The staff were all very friendly & approachable. There's no reason why I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

There wasn't anything we didn't like.
