Great value for money and location perfect base for exploring Windermere. Free parking included, felt secure with keypad lock (no staff on site as far as we could tell) and room got nice and warm with radiator.

Shower pressure wasn’t great. Didn’t have enough toilet paper. Room wasn’t cleaned during 3 night stay.

A rare find in the whole of the lakes! This is a no pets & no kids' establishment with parking. Absolutely wonderful a complete haven of peace & tranquility! No kids screaming & no dogs barking - bloody marvellous! Excellent location within easy walking distance from the lake. The room was beautiful, clean and tidy. Nice big windows which you can open fully to allow a breeze in. Bed looked abit dodgy - but was really comfy (have had a back op '- so I am VERY wary of hotel beds) We would stay again and recommend it to friends. P.s. I wish the Proprietors would open a pub with no dogs & kids allowed.

We personally loved the keyless entry system - but if you want a chat with a person/ receptionist, then this place is not for you. We saw no staff. Parking at the hotel was marked for 3 cars. There is an overflow car park at another hotel behind Latimer House (ring the hotel for details).as it's not obvious or indicated on their car park.. This is a keyless entry system. The proprietors message you the code to get in....but note that it's a 4 digit code immediately followed by the *. If you don't put the * in you won't get in! We have the same system on our doors at home, so we knew. But we met 2 couples struggling to get in due to the *

The property was beautifully furnished with the added bonus of a great fridge, it was spotlessly clean & the patio area was lovely to sit & relax with lovely outdoor furniture. A lovely surprise when we arrived of an anniversary card & chocolates this was greatly appreciated. Se had a wonderful four nights just chilling.

The only thing we could point out would be the ceiling in the bathroom needs attention from a leak. To make these rooms 10 out of 10 for us would be a small toaster to save having to go out for breakfast as we like to chill on holiday. Maybe just a small breakfast shelf .

Room was clean and tidy, snug even had a fridge with water which was a nice bonus. A great base for exploring Bowness and Windermere or going further afield. Bed was comfortable and pillows were excellent. We had a lovely stay here and would use it again if we were back in the area.

Curtains weren’t big enough to cover the window so the room was very bright at sunrise. Bed dipped to one side likely due to the mattress being sat on and not rotated. Beds are a double so could feel small if you are used to a king size like we are. A lamp in the snug would be great as the only option was the main room light which was a bit bright at night. Shower was slow to drain.

Location is perfect, close to all bars, restaurants and pubs - literally could not be closer. The rooms are nice and clean. You don't need to carry a key with you everywhere as it's all done electronically via a code - meaning you don't need to bother to check in and our really - you just come and go. They have a hair-dryer but it's in a wardrobe under the pillows. Make sure you look there as I only found it when I didn't need it anymore haha

The shower is not very powerful, so if you have long hair and need to wash it, it takes a while. But it's okay to wash your body. The bed seems comfy but we both woke up with back-pain each day whereas we don't usually. It could be us being over 30 now!! :D

This little hidden gem was way more than we expected its a perfect & tranquil retreat in an excellent location. The room, decor and facilities were of an high quality. Highly recommend this place.

We stayed in a ground floor room at the righthand side of the double doors after the main front door. The double doors had no soft close function or something similar so as guests left early hours of the morning these doors slammed extremely loudly it vibrated through the wall on which our bed was situated it really shocked us and woke us each time! The only fault I can mention but it was an important one. Otherwise a perfect place.

Very clean and comfy. Didn't see any of the staff as its all done with key code access. Easy to access useful to have parking

I recently stayed at Latimer House and overall had a pleasant experience. The rooms were beautifully decorated, spacious, and very comfortable. The bathroom was also modern and well-equipped, making our stay enjoyable. Latimer House offers a lovely stay with well-maintained rooms, and we would consider returning in the future.

However, there were a couple of issues during our visit. When returning to the building at night, we noticed a strong smell of what seemed to be weed on the bottom floor, which was quite unpleasant. Additionally, we were woken up at 8:30 AM by loud joinery work. While we understand that maintenance is necessary, a later start time—perhaps around 10 AM—would be more considerate for guests.

The location was perfect. Really close to the lake and the restaurants / Cafes/ bars / Shops etc. There was a self check-in which was easy and hassle free - no key or card for the property or your room to carry around whilst off sightseeing as you are given a personal code to enter the property and room. There was good Wi-Fi, plenty of tea and coffee and a lovely ensuite and walk in shower! Which was well needed after a rainy day out on the lake! We had view of the garden, and even though it rained, was still beautiful.

We stayed on the ground floor and had a terrace overlooking the garden, whilst beautiful and large, the sound of the busy road was sometimes a distraction from relaxation. This cannot be helped however, and did not ruin our stay one bit!

Latimer House is honestly a little gem! Me and my boyfriend stayed here last week and we couldn’t fault the place. The location is superb, only a 5/10 minute walk to the Lake, bars and restaurants. It is a self service hotel, the owner messaged the morning we were due to stay with a private code to get in and out of the property. As we were leaving, a lady (I didn’t catch her name) allowed us to store our luggage at the hotel as we had a later train. Rooms were lovely and clean. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
