The room that we stayed in was absolutely beautiful with a lovely view over the surrounding hills. The room was very modern, well decorated and very clean. This was one of the nicest rooms I have ever stayed in.
Nitpicking slightly, but the walls and doors let quite a bit of noise in as it is an old house. Unfortunately the person in the room next to us was quite noisy and we could hear him on the phone late at night. Furthermore, it is slightly annoying that guests at the Ambleside Fells Rooms do not have access to the Townhouse car park next door. We had to walk quite a bit with our bags from a pay and display carpark, despite spaces being available in the Townhouse car park.

Accommodation was fairly central and right beside a great cafe for breakfast.
Not having onsite parking was a bit of a pain, esp in a place like Ambleside. However, we managed to get parking in the car park below the Fell Rooms the first night but couldn't the next as we arrived after 5.00pm and the spaces had all gone. Parked in the main central car park at the bottom of the town and then moved the car early the next morning up to the car park above, so we could easily take our luggage to the car. The best thing is if you pay for the parking before a certain time, it lasts all of the next day.

We loved staying at the Ambleside Fell Rooms! It is a very short (3-5 min) walk from the bus station, so it makes it easy if you have luggage. The attention to detail and cleanliness of rooms were highlights for me. I loved that there was a little sitting area by the window. We came during a rare heat wave the past few days in July, but were able to keep the windows open and it worked out fine! It's just something to keep in mind- probably mostly for Americans who live with AC 24/7- if you come in the summer months, as it got up to 82 one of the days we stay. For us it was cool enough at nights (60s F) that we still slept well. We had the curtains closed during the daytime to keep more of the heat out so we stayed comfortable the whole time. After the first night, I asked the front desk if they had sheets or a light blanket instead of the comforter we had on the bed. At first she said she didn't think they had it, but when we came back from Windermere they had put sheets on and I was so happy. I really loved this hotel and would 100% stay here again if I was ever back in the area- especially in the cooler months!
We wished that it had AC since we came during a rare heat wave, and that's what we're used to in the U.S. but we understood why it didn't. It was perfect otherwise!

We had a very pleasant stay at the Ambleside Fell Rooms. The location is ideal - within easy walking distance to both Ambleside town centre and Waterhead. Our room was clean, spacious, and well-maintained, making it a comfortable base for exploring the area. Would happily stay again.
Just a couple of things to note: the property is on the main road heading out of Ambleside with no on-site parking, but there's a Pay & Display car park about 100m away. Also, there’s no lift, so be prepared for stairs if your room is on an upper floor. Not issues for us, but helpful to know in advance.

Absolutely loved the room! Check-in was easy - we had to go to the reception next door at the 'sister' hotel'. The style and decor were lovely and welcoming. Everything was clean and tidy, and the view outside our window was stunning. This is a great place to stay - very close to the town centre, right next to a parking lot so you can park your car with ease, and it's just around the corner there is a laundromat if you need.
There's no fridge in the room, so you can't store any perishable food items. No lifts, so staying here will require you to carry your luggage up a few flights of stairs. Also we had check-out early to catch our flight, but there's no clear instructions on how to check out early, so we had to drop the keys through the reception door and hope for the best!

Fantastic location with public carpark around the corner. Very close to town centre and easy access to popular walking routes. The staff on check-in/out were attentive and friendly. The standard king rooms are ample big enough for a weekend stay. Tastefully decorated and exceptionally clean. The view from our top floor room was beautiful (West facing) and the property was very quiet. We didn’t opt for breakfast so can’t comment on food options as we chose to eat locally instead. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again!
Absolutely nothing!

The property is in a great location, right next to all of the shops, pubs and restaurants in the centre of Ambleside. The room was modern, spacious and kept really clean. We didn’t have breakfast included, so can’t comment much on the food. However the basic refreshments in the room (water, tea, coffee & biscuits) were restocked each day. We had no reason to ask the staff for anything, other than checking in and out. However those small interactions we did have went smoothly. Absolutely met expectations and would certainly stay here again.
The only small criticism we could have is that there is no parking for the property, and the public car park located right next to it gets full quickly. So you might have to be lucky to get a space. We had to park in a larger car park about 5 minutes away. Which was no issue at all most days, however it was a little inconvenient when we arrived with our bags and it was raining. The parking situation however is clearly stated by the property before booking, and it is likely that we simply arrived at a particularly busy time.

Location was good - very central in Ambleside and even though there was no on-site parking, the public car park was very close - we could even see the car from our room! Though close to the centre it was very quiet. The bed was comfortable and the room was nicely furnished.
Unfortunately, we had quite a small room on the top floor. Due to the unseasonably warm weather the room was very hot and we couldn’t get much air through the window. We could have done with a fan in the room. I struggled to sleep.

A beautiful and charming hotel, within walking distance to many Ambleside attractions, restaurants and shops. Townhouse style building, with high ceilings and architectural details in our comfortable and clean room. We had booked three rooms for our group; each was on a different floor and each with a unique floor plan. All were lovely and spacious, equipped with ample amenities. Staff was pleasant; check-in time is fixed unless you want to pay an additional fee. We did not get the breakfast bags, but appreciated their availability. There is also a car park adjacent to the hotel. Great value for the size and comfort of our rooms, and we would have liked to stay longer!

The room & hotel itself is spotless and modern. Staff member who checked us in was lovely and very informative. Big flat screen TV in room was great and bed was super comfy which made for a great night sleep. View from window was pretty nice too (we were on top floor). Kettle, coffee, tea, water, etc.. included in room too which is a nice touch. Location is absolutely fantastic. We would definitely consider staying here again next time we visit Ambleside!
-> Shower was really small. -> As lovely as the Fell Rooms are I do think they are slightly pricey. -> Parking (in car park just behind Fell Rooms) is very expensive so be aware.
