The location was excellent ,only a few minutes walk to shops ,restaurant and the lake. We had a beautiful room in the converted attic ,tastefully decorated Enjoyed a hearty breakfast . A lovely touch was home baked cake and cookies provided for the guests to enjoy.
There is quite a steep hill to climb to reach the property ,which may be difficult for elderly or the less mobile .

Very homely place to stay. The room was spotless and comfortable. The host and housekeeping lady were friendly and accomodating. Plenty to choose from at breakfast time, including a delicious cooked breakfast. The hotel felt safe and is tucked away from the busier areas of Bowness, but within a short walk from Lake Windermere. The complimentary homemade cakes provided a nice personal touch- the melt in the mouth shortbread is to die for! The garden was full of beautiful bright flowers. The owners have made this place just perfect. I would not hesitate to recommend.

Lovely B&B in a very quiet location of Bowness and just a short walk from the town centre, free car park and a very welcoming and helpful host. We went for the top floor 'penthouse' so had loads of room for all our walking gear and a lovely view across town (just be wary of low roof space in a couple of areas, can easily bang your head!). Breakfast was superb, wide selection of cereals, yogurts and fruit, and freshly cooked full English. As others have said, bonus extra of freshly cooked cake or biscuits each day, something we looked forward to after a walk in the hills.
Nothing really, if I was pushed to add anything it would be the reception is in need of a refresh, but that doesn't detract from how much we enjoyed our stay.

the communication from Nick(proprietor)was excellent he messaged to let us know room was ready When we arrived he showed us the room then explained about where and how to get to the surrounding area.the breakfast was was first class it was cooked fresh and very tasty .good selection of cereals and juices. We spent one late evening sat in the garden area which ws great.Nice little touch was he left freshly baked cakes and bottled water fresh milk in a fridge on the landing .I think the fact there are not to many rooms Nick can concentrate on the quality of your stay
I can't fault Nick for anything the staff were all friendly and cheery .

Initially we booked Fairfield House and Gardens purely for the location (a 4 minute walk down to the centre of Bowness). The accommodation was more than we could have wished for, the host Nick was so lovely, ensuring we had everything we needed (the fresh bakes were an added bonus!). The room (King Room with Mountain View) had the comfiest bed and was so quiet (despite being so close to the busy town) which was just what we needed after a long day hiking Scafell Pike! Then to top off a great nights sleep we enjoyed a delicious cooked full English. We would definitely stay here again and recommend.
That we had to leave when we did!

The house was situated in a quiet road above the lake, although only a short walk to the lake and facilities in the town. Our host was very helpful and the breakfast provided each morning was exceptional with a good range of dishes. The interior décor of the house throughout was very beautiful and the room was very comfortable. There was a wonderful garden available to the guests, which would be lovely place to sit in the summer. We unfortunately left a pair of binoculars behind when we left and our host immediately returned them by post, very carefully packaged, which was very kind of him.
Nothing.

Beautiful property we had top floor room which was unusual, quirky, spacious, amazing views. Clean and comfortable. Lounge lovely to sit and chat on an evening along with a lovely garden with plenty of opportunity to sit outside - freshly baked biscuits and cake were left for us each day - and the breakfast was superb
It was on top of a very steep hill which was kindly brought to our attention before we stayed. It was absolutely fine for my husband and i but our elderly parents did struggle a little. Nick gave as alternative route down into the village which was also steep but not as steep as the main route - probably not good for those with walking aids/difficulties although we did manage

It is difficult to fault Fairfield House. It is situated a short walk from the hustle and bustle of Bowness but just a few minutes walk from all its amenities. There is parking at the house which is a bonus and it is set in fabulous, beautifully kept gardens. We were lucky enough to visit when the many shrubs were in full bloom and the weather was good so were able to take full advantage of the generous supply of outdoor furniture to sit and enjoy the garden. The bedroom we had was comfortable and well equipped with a glimpse of the lake and hills and a smart and spotlessly clean en suite shower room. Breakfast was cooked to order and there was also a range of cereals, fruit, yogurts etc. Nick, the owner, went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was comfortable and stress-free even providing home-made cake and a fridge containing fresh milk and bottled water on the landing outside the bedrooms for his guests
This is more of a warning rather than a complaint and that is that there is a very steep hill from the centre of Bowness to Fairfield House which may cause problems for those less able

The property was easy to find and was within a 5min walk to the shops and restaurants. Also very close to the lake and Beatrix Potter museum. We received a polite text message from Nick enquiring an ETA so that our room was prepared. When we arrived it was raining heavily and as we had left home at 10am in the morning when the Sun had been shining we forgot our umbrella. Nick kindly lent us his. The property was very tastefully decorated throughout. Our room was located on the 1st floor and was well equipped with tea snd coffee facilities. Nick our host explained everything thing to us clearly and also directed us to a fridge we had access to for fresh milk and cake, incase we didn’t like the sachet milk. We were given a front door key so there was no time limit on getting back in the evening/night. Breakfast was superb, we had freshly squeezed orange juice which was very sweet, cereal, full English where everything was cooked to perfection. Also on offer was yogurts, fruit, bread for toast, variety of jams and delicious tea and coffee served in China tea cups. We certainly was spoilt. From the breakfast room we enjoyed a beautiful, well stocked garden. The spring azaleas, rhododendrons and wisteria really gave our eyes a joyful pleasure. If we had stayed longer snd the weather slightly warmer we really would have enjoyed having breakfast outside on the terrace. Nick really has made the experience of B&B 100% a joy. We would surely recommend staying here and we look forward to coming back ourselves in the no too far future.
Everything was perfect

Beautifully kept, with gorgeous gardens. Has sufficient and free parking. Very close to town. The room we stay in is the top floor king suite and is exceptional and has everything you need. Fabulous shower and very comfy bed! Nick, the host, has usually cooked a treat which you can help yourself too; this weekend we had fruit tealoaf and cookies - gorgeous. And whilst I’m talking food, the full English breakfast is exceptional (I think the best I’ve had in a B&B!!).
It’s at the top of a very steep hill so wouldn’t suit everyone - if nothing else, it helps to walk off the breakfast and treats 😊
