Lovely receptionist beautiful setting and service room lovely and cream tea scones and croissants lovely

The fire alarm was set off accidentally by someone staying at the hotel which woke us both up. I understand this could happen but when people come to stay it needs to be pointed out to them where it is so as not to happen again as I believe it has happened before. I would have appreciated a complimentary apology email with maybe a slight reduction off next visit. It was ashame as I couldn't fault the hotel it was beautiful

Once again, we had an amazing stay! The hotel is absolutely lovely and very well equipped. The staff are incredibly kind, helpful, and always warm and welcoming. The breakfast offers a fantastic variety of options, and the afternoon scones are simply delicious! Our bedroom was extremely comfortable (thank you so much for the upgrade!) and the bathroom was equally well equipped. The area is absolutely beautiful, and we enjoyed some extraordinary walks in the hills surrounding the village. The views over the landscape were simply stunning – a truly memorable experience. We will definitely be coming back!

The room was large and bed was comfortable. It was in a very good spot for going out from. Everyone working there was lovely and helpful. The pastries and drinks in the afternoon were great and appreciated. Our room overlooked the river. The sound was nice for me and the ducks were cute in the morning. On the night we didn't want to go out to eat it was nice to be able to order takeout through the restaurant to our room.

Bathroom layout was a little odd with the toilet being right next to the door, the door barely missed it when it opened. Not actually an issue but was odd. The bath was also a little narrow for us but usable anyway. The restaurant is at the sister hotel a short walk away, not really a deal breaker since you can order it but someone people might not want to. Not much was actually "bad". Room was a little warm but it was a warm week.

Excellent location - very central. Even though there were lots of cars, there was ample parking space which was clearly marked out to avoid confusion. Very warm welcome by every member of staff. Choice of breakfast dishes was very good although sour dough bread not easy to cut without a well-serrated knife! The hot breakfast would be far better served on HOT PLATES! The availability of free cups of tea, coffee & freshly baked scones whenever you wanted was a lovely touch and much appreciated!

Nothing at all. The staff members were so welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful. If a problem had arisen, we felt comfortable that any situation would have been dealt with immediately in a confident & professional manner.

located in the centre of grasmere with great parking and a superb front garden for drinks in the sun. Afternoon noon tea consisted of complementary scones, jam, and clotted cream. The room was spacious , looking on to the river, which was very pleasing and calming . The soothing sound of the water passed over the rocks just made for a great feeling as you drifted off to sleep at the end of the day. The breakfast was superb with an excellent choice of freshly cooked or continental food. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The general vibe was very relaxed and welcoming. Can't recommend highly enough.

A little bit of a bottle neck with the tea and coffee facility.

Access to tea and coffee all day with a scone was a good welcoming addition x Room was great x host was more than amazing and really helpful x breakfast area was great and sitting out area was superb x view from bedroom was excellent x cleanliness was brilliant well done x Ample free parking helped make a stress free stay x

Black pudding would have been a good addition x just ordinary brown toasted bread would have been an improvement on a separate plate. Didn’t care for the bread you used with the breakfast x Just one egg was sufficient x bacon could be of better quality x addition of Heinz beans would have been welcome x to be honest had better breakfast at several cheeper B & B’s in the village x Fist time I have left most of my breakfast x apologise for my honesty but the breafast is where improvement is needed x I would definitely stay here again but would expect an improvement in breakfast quality x

The staff are so welcoming and friendly, nothing is too much trouble for them. The afternoon tea on check-in is a bonus too, it was a lovely start to our break to be able to sit by the river and enjoy a lovely afternoon tea before we went out to explore Grasmere. The room was superbly comfortable and clean, slept like a log. Breakfast was great too, excellent vegetarian options were available too.

It's a push to say I didn't like this but it is something for people to be aware of before booking, the pool and restaurant for evening meals are at a sister hotel a 5 minute walk away.

Good selection for breakfast, great location. Staff professional and friendly. Comfortable bed. Loved the idea of being adults only. Would return.

Glass panel in the bathroom door inappropriate lacking privacy, bathroom mirror was too far away from the sink, easily rectified with installing a flexible shaving mirror. Plug in the sink kept dismantling. More selection of drinks from the bar would be good and with displayed prices, only wine prices were displayed. Also, a selection of bar snacks would be nice.

The location in the heart of the Lakes District was excellent. The grounds were immaculate and a pleasure to sit back and enjoy the afternoon. The staff were pleasant and professional. Breakfast was great having your meal specially prepared for you. Parking was excellent with allocated parking bays.

The pictures of the room make it look much larger than it was. There was not enough room for people with large suitcases to open them. The bathroom was not very well designed with the toilet wedged between the wall and the hand basin making it difficult to use.

Beautifully clean, very friendly staff.

The pool is at a different hotel which isn’t made clear on booking.
