Located just off the main centre of Bowness it has the convenience of all the facilities without the noise and bustle of the crowds . The public areas are clean tidy well presented with plenty of space for eating and relaxing. Our room was a cosy double in the main building and was well set out with all the facilities and comfortable for a two night stay. The general cleanliness of the room, the bar and restaurant area was very good. Breakfast was very satisfying with enough choice of cold and freshly cooked options for all tastes. Staff are pleasant approachable and ready to help.

We have stayed at The Angel Inn numerous times before the Inn House Group took it over so we were a bit cautious in booking again, however we were not disappointed. The decor and Christmas decorations on arrival were beautiful and the food was amazing and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Although we had one of the small rooms in the hotel it was still excellent and fit for purpose have booked again for 2025. Excellent location for shops and restaurants.

There was nothing that we didn't like, the only thing would be if there was more parking even though we always got a spot not sure where you would park if all the parking spaces were taken.

Fantastic stay at the angel inn, I visit the beautiful Bowness often and it’s the first time I’ve been here let alone stay. I wasn’t disappointed. We stayed in room 33 annexed across the road with a lake view. The room was full of charm and character befitting of the view! Spotlessly clean with free parking. The pub is lovely, I cannot comment on the evening meals as we didn’t dine here but the full English breakfast in the morning was delicious! All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.

Ok, tiny moan! Breakfast stops a little early for me 9.30am, and the check out time of 10.30 was a little early for me too! That’s just me though!

Lack of parking a huge frustration. Even the lack of a drop off area. Had to park nearly a mile away.

We liked the Angel,a great position and room very good.

Breakfasts!! We always look forward to a good full English,however we must say that the meal here was one of the worst we have had☹️ Dry,hard bacon,rock hard hash browns, undercooked fried eggs,very poor scrambled eggs- not good!

I liked the decor of the public parts of the hotel and the room. I enjoyed sitting at the little table by the window in our room (31) and having a cup of tea and looking at the view. Perfect. Our room was in the building across the road.

There were two things I didn't like about the room. It would be very good if there was something to put your suitcase on to empty it, besides putting it on the floor, like a suitcase stand. The second, and important I think, is to have a hook on the back of the bathroom door to hang your dressing gown or clothes whilst taking a shower or getting dressed. I was disappointed about this. Everything else was perfect.

The location was amazing and the room we booked was just lovely. Food was great and service from staff.

Parking was a pain. It was first come first served and we got a space by the annex which is where we were staying anyway. Unfortunately, one of the other guests crashed in to our car trying to get in to a non-existent space next to us and lied about it but I will say the hotel was great and said they had it on CCTV so they was supportive. I think perhaps reserve spaces for residents that are staying rather than people just visiting the pub for a day.

The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The location is perfect in heart of Bowness, 5 mins from Windermere and literally across the road from The Old Laundry Theatre (aka Beatrix Potter attraction). The rooms although not in the Inn were immaculate.

I was unaware until arrival that we the rooms were not in the Inn but in the hotel across the road. I had chosen the Inn because of it's appearance and had visited on day trips previously. Shame that staff were slow to clear tables and they were left uncleaned. Disappointed to find other guests had paid less for better deals. Would possibly book directly next time but like that you can book and cancel for free with Booking.com especially as we booked 3 couples and one had to cancel.

The staff here are amazing and deserve full credit. They were happy, friendly, and very helpful. They made us a cocktail which wasnt on the menu (most other places would just ask you to pick another one, stoked the fire for us because we were cold, took a last minute dessert order just before the kitchen closed and were just a great team! 🫶 Loved the decor of downstairs. It was very cosy. The fireplace in November was very much appreciated as well 🙌

The breakfast times for those with it included was just too early for me. Also, checkout time is too early. I dont like mornings.. My mattress had a dip in the middle of it but still had a good sleep Maybe put a mini fridge in rooms to store drinks in

We thought the breakfast was excellent. We were spoilt for choice and were also able to order a cooked breakfast if needed. Maybe some more fresh fruit could be added. The fresh croissants were really tasty.

The ‘first come, first serve’ in regards to the parking situation was quite a hassle when arriving at the hotel. Parking elsewhere was not the problem. But seeing as we were staying with two young children, something like a short-stay parking bay would have really helped (max. 15-30 mins). This, so that we could have checked-in and taken all of our luggage out of the car in front of the hotel. Now I had to find a parking as close by as possible as make multiple journeys to and from the car.
