My single room was small but it was well presented and was kept immaculately clean with fresh bedding after the third night. The overall presentation of the public rooms was to a very high standard. There were excellent fixed Menus for Breakfas and Dinner. I tried to select widely varied meals from the Menus. The Steak and Kidney Pie was exceptionally good and I was happily surprised by an unusual combination of Pancakes with Bacon complimented by a Controlled Sweetness Syrup dressing. The Eggs Benedict, Eggs Royale, and Eggs Florentine also made for some interesting breakfasts. Excellent management displaying consideration for our needs.

The Sous-Chef didn't know how to poach eggs for Eggs Florentine on the first morning's breakfast. Fortunately The Chef spent some time training the Sous-Chef on the second moring. I would have loved to have been in the kitchen at that time just to listen to the Chefs handling the situation. We only had "school dinner" poaching on the first morning. After that everything was up to the high standards set by the Chef.

Very conveniently situated on the main road from Keswick to Grasmere. Beautiful surroundings with lots of places to visit within a short drive. Hotel staff were very friendly and always had a smile on their faces, even though they were extremely busy. All public rooms were cosy, and there was a nice outdoor seating area. Overall this hotel was great value for money.

Our bedroom was nicely appointed but the bed mattress was too soft and needed changing. However, a divan lorry pulled up outside the hotel as we left, so hopefully, this was being remedied!

The Inn was very easy to find and situated in the most beautiful and picturesque area. The inn was a 13 min drive from the town centre, which was also easy to find. The Inn felt cosy and like a home from home and the staff were lovely and very attentive. The area is quiet and the Inn was very peaceful.

Our room was situated right at the top of the stairs - not much of a gripe, it's just a personal preference to be tucked away. The food was a little bit expensive, but was extremely good quality. The room was a bit small, but I'm a small person so not much bother for me - especially as the room was very clean and had everything we needed! Basically no real things to dislike.

We had a delightful experience at the Inn from the 1600s, which truly enchanted me with its old-world charm. The ambience was just perfect, and we were completely captivated by the charisma of the place. The cozy fireplace is the ideal spot to relax. It felt like stepping back in time. We had booked the family room and were pleasantly surprised by how spacious and clean it was. It made our stay all the more comfortable. Breakfast was an absolute highlight of our visit – it was incredibly delicious! I must say, I would probably return just for the breakfast alone. My personal favorite was the Eggs Florentine, and the kids couldn't get enough of the pancakes with fruits. Overall, our experience at the Inn was fantastic.

Location was great to be situated between Grasmere and Keswick. Easy to walk over to Thirlmere too. The room was clean and tidy and the staff was pleasant. Nice building and character. I would stay here again.

Being an old coach house its on the main road so can hear some vehicles in the early hours. Parking can get busy in the evening as its open to public in the bar. The bed was big but the bed frame was bigger making the room a little tight and ended up hitting both knee caps on the frame at some point. Would be nice if they had fresh juice with breakfast.

Very clean, cosy and decorated to a very high standard. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Easy to find and the location was perfect for us as we wanted to walk up Helvellyn which we did from the door. There are lots of walks that can be done using the pub as a base. We ate there both nights of our stay and had breakfast each morning too. The food was delicious.

A bit more choice on the menu is the only thing I would change (and I'm being picky) There was only one vegan and one vegetarian choice on the evening menu making it not much of a "choice" when staying 2 nights. There was no vegan choice for breakfast (although I'm sure had I asked, something would have been rustled up with no issue). Having said that the food was lovely.

This is a wonderfully cosy property which is great after a day on the hills with the fireplace being a ncie touch. The pub attached to the property does great food and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The beds are comfy and they're certainly warm. Great hot shower with good water pressure. The busline from Ambleside to Keswick is right outside the property which is handy if coming up without a car, and the property itself is located next to some classic walks in the Lakes. Overall, a wonderful experience here!

The rooms themselves can feel a little bit small and cramped. It would be handy if there was a useable kitchen as hill walkers can then prep their meals for the day.

Wow....first class greeting at reception and throughout our stay. The room was very nice with everything within that's needed. Evening meals on 2 nights were of a very high standard as was the service. The breakfasts were fantastic and plentiful. On both days we were blessed with very good weather so managed to enjoy a few drinks in the beer garden. The management (Pete) and his staff were extremely friendly and could not do enough for us. In our opinion 100% recommended and a return visit will be soon.

We have just returned from a couple of nights at the Kings Head. We had an enjoyable stay, room was comfortable, had a good nights sleep, plenty of tea/coffee sachets and a fantastic breakfast with a good choice and served by friendly efficient staff. The Kings Head is about 25 mins from Keswick. There is a bus stop straight across the road and we got that there a back. Behind the hotel is a path and it’s well sign posted so you can follow it up the hill. We had an evening meal one night which was excellent. We found all the staff very friendly.
