-Breakfast was great -the meat seemed like it was from a butcher and it was all expertly cooked -very polite staff who were eager to help -the bed was soo comfy -loved the location: tucked away but only a 2 min walk from the shops and buses -our room was upgraded free of charge, though still was a little on the small side (it was a standard double)

-the water pressure in the shower was very poor, and I had to keep turning the temperature up or the hot water ran out -this is just a suggestion: adding a non-fried hot item to breakfast like pancakes or waffles would be lovely (though no pressure because I'm not sure many b&bs in the area do that)

There was a miscommunication between booking.com and the b&b and it didn't get picked up that I'd booked a dog friendly room until a few days before arrival. By this point they were fully booked but were happy for me to bring my dog despite not having a dog friendly room booked. On arrival I was upgraded free of charge to a dog front room as there was a last minute cancellation. The room was amazing with it's own door out onto the garden for easy access for the dog. Everything was clean and comfortable and I would highly recommend. All the staff were super friendly and helpful and breakfast was amazing.

Nothing to fault.

3rd stay here. Comfortable and great location.Good shower that doesn't flood the bathroom when used. Bathroom in good decorative order. Excellent breakfast with friendly, efficient staff. Parking in Ambleside is a big bonus and it's great to arrive and be able to leave the car until departure. Great to be able to pick up extra tea and coffee from reception desk if required.

We stayed in room 2, which we have not been in before. The room was lovely with a side view of the garden. However, walls were badly in need of a repaint, lots of peeling paint. We also had a broken chair in the room, which we fortunately discovered was broken when we placed a coat on it rather than sitting on it, which would have caused injury. The cleaner should have picked up on this.

The host Joanna was welcoming and friendly, taking the time to show us the breakfast room location, explain the hours of breakfast, check-out and then our room. Joanna also had a great local knowledge of restaurants and the area, with good communication pre-arrival, a warm welcome and check-in time confirmation. Our room had been very kindly upgraded from a standard double room to a deluxe double room upon arrival, as we were very late past out estimated time, having taken the advantage of the great weather to tour around the area all day from our drive down from Ayr. The room was very spacious, comfortable and well equipped, a very handy ground floor location with direct access to the car park for luggage retrieval. Car parking was easy access, located right at the B&B. We had no trouble finding a space, even at our arrival time of 6pm. The B&B is very well situated, right in the town, within a short walking distance to restaurants and shops. Breakfast was great, lovely and fresh, hearty, served in a lovely sun room facing the small pretty garden.

Great stay and location. Victor was amazing and couldn't do enough for us. We had the dog friendly room on the ground floor, which was perfect for our little cockapoo Louis to get out into the garden whenever he wanted from a door in our room.Breakfast was lovely .Would definitely stay here again.Great location for Ambleside!

Only negative was that we had to have breakfast separately as our dog wasn't allowed in the breakfast lounge, which is understandable. Maybe we could have had breakfast in our room for a bit extra money

Room was spacious and clean with a little private sitout. Staff was very helpful and pleasant, the laundry facility for a small number of clothes was a lifesaver, breakfast was fresh, tasty but adding a few child-friendly options like pancakes would have made it fab. The location was superb, you could walk to everything in town leaving the car behind in their car park. A highlight was the jacuzzi bath tub, great after a fell walk.

The family room was spacious but with odd proportions like the super narrow corridor between them with two doors. The floor was carpeted but slightly uneven. No shelves in the cupboard makes it hard to keep the room tidy when you are 3 people on a longer trip. The sofa was worn out with sunken seats. The double bed was fine but the extra bed for the kids was a bit lumpy with hard pillows. I didn't raise it because we checked in late and then we were hardly in the room. I wasn't sure they could do anything either.

A beautiful property within walking distance from most amenities. Breakfast was delicious in a bright and well laid out dining room with very attentive and friendly staff. The day we checked out, the owner/manager allowed us to use the lounge to entertain family as the weather was very inclement, even bringing us a pot of rea. The bedroom was very comfortable.

Only a couple of things I was disappointed in, when I opened the sash window, the mullion was very dirty. The slip mat in the bath had not been cleaned for some time and was black underneath. otherwise the room was clean and comfortable

Which was big and lovely no faults.. location is very good few minutes walk into town. Great car park attached .. in the morning the breakfast was filling & very enjoyable. They also sorted vegetarian and gluten free for my wife which was a plus.. definitely go back here. It's a gem in the heart of ambleside.. thanks to joanna and all her staff for a great stay x

The room had its own front door which was perfect for our dog...It was warm and spacious. We were offered pet friendly lounge access for breakfast with our dog.

We just felt a little uncomfortable eating from the coffee table as it was low to eat breakfast from and though our dog doesn't jump we felt it could have accommodated a small breakfast table for our stay as there was plenty room. Also the lounge seating was near the entrance front door which was cold when people passed through.

Room and furnishings were nice, very clean and bathroom was a nice size. Four-poster bed was small but manageable. Dining room downstairs was a huge surprise on how beautiful it was with the furnishings in the dining room. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast and excellent service. We had a nice mountain view from our room.

We actually circled the block twice or three times trying to get into the right property. Car park was extremely tight on parking. We learned later that the property next door will share their parking lot with Rothay Garth.
