The property was in a quiet spot out of town away from the hustle and bustle. Our room was on the ground floor and was so very welcoming and comfortable. There was ample storage space, the bed was so comfortable, bathroom clean and lovely hot shower. Smart TV so you can watch all your Netflix etc here - just take your code with you. Sarah is amazingly friendly and so accommodating. Fresh bakes on arrival and at breakfast. Her breakfasts are amazing - they definitely keep you going all day. We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend Sarah and Claremont House. The house is about 20 mins walk from the town centre (up a hill) so be ready for the walk but it’s well worth it.

Spur of the moment stay on route to Glasgow. Claremont House may be located on quite a busy road but had a great view from the lovely little garden area and was very quiet during the evening. We were greeted by the excellent host with freshly baked scones and orange juice which was a lovely touch. Everywhere was clean and well maintained and room had everything you need. Car parking on site always a bonus. Breakfast was also excellent. Would stay again if in the area.
Nothing during our stay. Perhaps not the easiest location to walk into the town centre areas from if you wanted to leave your car.

We were greeted by Sarah, who was friendly and provided tea and cakes on arrival, which we thought was a nice touch. She gave us plenty of information on walks, etc, of the local area. Our room was very clean and spacious, and we were lucky to see the beautiful sunset from our view of Keswick. Breakfast was exceptional with local ingredients cooked to order. It kept us going till we ate in the evening. Would highly recommend

Sarah was very welcoming, greeted us with fresh coffee and homemade scones even though we were an hour early. Sarah struck a nice balance of being chatty and helpful without being intrusive. Breakfast was exceptional and huge, smaller portions are available on request. Room was very comfortable and there was plenty of off-road parking.

The location was excellent. It had a beautiful view of the town and surrounding hills while only being about 5 minutes from the center of town. Breakfast was excellent. Sarah was very accommodating regarding our breakfast preferences and there was plenty of food. Sarah was also very informative as to where we should go and how to get there making our stay even more enjoyable.

Friendly welcome, TV, Armchairs and en-suite - like a mini-suite. Excellent choice of breakfasts. The host provided really helpful local knowledge for both services (taxi/buses/ restaurants) and walks..
The location is well placed for some good walks, but the trade off is the town centre is about a mile away. A decent bus service and very cheap taxi services overcomes this, if you prefer not to walk (eg its raining).

The property was in an ideal location with a bus stop right outside of the door for people wanting to travel further afield. There was ample private parking with the most beautiful view of Blencathra Skiddaw Carbells and Derwent water. Inside the property was lovely and clean with original features. Every room came with a view. Sarah the host was always warm and friendly. Making us tea and coffee with homemade scones on arrival and when we came back from a long walk. The rooms were well equipment with everything you need for a comfortable stay with views to die for. The bed was so comfortable just what you need after a long walk. Breakfast was on a whole different level to any I have had before. Sarah warned us in advance that her portions were large and my goodness she wasn’t kidding. There was everything you could want from fresh fruit and yogurt to cereal toast and a full (very full) English breakfast. I can’t thank Sarah enough for her hospitality and welcoming us into her home. We will definitely be back.

We were made extremely welcome by Sarah, who couldn't do enough to help us throughout our stay, recommending places to eat, taxis to use etc. The views from our bedroom window were amazing overlooking Keswick and Derwent Water with the mountains as a marvellous backdrop. Just a pity that the reason for our visit, the Catbells lights were cancelled due to bad weather, hope that we get chance to visit again in the future.

The lovely accommodation is on the edge of town. It is quiet, clean and comfortable and comes with free dedicated onsite parking. The breakfast was amazing, tasty and very generous servings. The room was large with a king size bed and a small area to sit in front of the window and enjoy the garden view.
