We had a great stay at this hotel. Very clean and the staff are fantastic. Especially Felix who was extremely helpful. The lady (didn’t catch her name) who is around at breakfast, is also great. It’s not a modern, soundproofed hotel, so you will hear a bit of noise from other guests, but the friendly staff and reasonable prices at the bar make up for that. I would definitely come back again. Oh and the breakfast was fantastic.. It was fresher and tastier than I’ve had in some 4/5 star hotels. All cooked fresh to order and delicious.

Located close to the centre of Keswick and a nearby car park, there are a few parking spots at the hotel but I chose to park on nearby street as more room. The views out windows were fantastic with Skiddaw approach to the north and Catbells to the west. Room was comfy and shower worked well. Pleasant staff serving a good varied breakfast if you don’t fancy the full English there’s eggs with fresh smoked salmon which was delicious
Hotel parking was tight which could be improved by moving bins to allow better reversing into parking spaces

Great location - not too busy, quiet, easy to find (although multi-street intersection), opposite Fitz Park (great for a late evening/early morning stroll) and easy walk to central shops in town and a small supermarket. Check in minimum fuss, friendly staff member. Free wifi was great. Booked a single room for a brief overnight stay - compact room still delivered with amenities (wardrobe with storage, small dresser table with mirror and tea/coffee, comfy bed, two beautiful windows with window seats and views of the historic buildings and lake district fells in the distance). Bathroom had lovely hot water shower. Free breakfast was included - I didn't stay for this as left early for a hike. As I arrived in the evening, it was great to be able to eat dinner in the hotel (salmon with veggies recommended!) without trying to find somewhere else in town. Simply left the key on the counter with my early check out, no fuss again. All in all, a great find for a quick overnight through-stay with everything I needed.
As warned with the booking, the on-site car park is extremely small (only 5-6 cars) and full when I arrived. I wasn't able to find free on-street parking nearby - there were a number of events in Keswick. However the Bell Close carpark was nearby and had overnight parking 7pm-7am GBP 1.10 which was perfect for me as I was staying the one night and off early in the morning. Very minor details: there was no hook for the towel in the bathroom, my room was on the second floor with stairs (no issue for me as I had backpacks but could be an issue for others with large suitcases/mobility issues), and the door wasn't that soundproofed so I could hear people on the stairs late at night coming back to their rooms. (For me, these are trivial and did not significantly detract from my stay!).

Good central location. The staff were friendly and helpful.
It isn’t a criticism but just a heads up regarding parking. The on site parking was very tight and difficult. I appreciate they tried to get as many in as possible and there’s nowhere else to put the bins but my wife had to park the car as I wouldn’t have been able to get in or out. The bins made for difficult manoeuvring. That said, reasonable on street free parking nearby and they inform you of it.

The personal touch and attention to detail provided by this one staff member turned what could have been a challenging situation into a seamless and pleasant stay. Despite being the only staff member on duty, the attendant managed to handle all inquiries and requests with remarkable efficiency. Whether it was assisting with check-in, providing local recommendations, or addressing room needs, the attendant performed each task with a smile and genuine enthusiasm.
Being shortstaffed..

excellent breakfast choices, delivered quickly and by staff always helpful and smiling. I had a single room and knew it would be on the top floor, great views though so happy with that addition. Clean enough with towels and soaps, teas/coffee in room.
the television. signal was bad when it rained but I didn't go to watch tv and the excellent wi-fi gave me another option. There was a little condensation showing in the shower ceiling but hey don't look up!

Quite a central spot and an easy walk to the main part of town. Our room had delightful views of the hills surrounding Keswick. The breakfast next morning was beautiful and plentiful so we were well set for the next part of our journey. Certainly a lovely part of the Lakes District and well worth seeing.
In these older premises, nothing can be done about the stairs ... but we do hate carting suitcases up and down the tight staircases. The parking was quite tight but we managed in the end.

Excellent location a minute walk away from Keswick's main street. Staff friendly. Great breakfast, there were a few veggie options available. Bathroom in 'executive room with park view' was really nice/modern. A good value for money overnight stay.
Electric fireplace appears to not work in Room 4. I did ask at reception for help with it as we were leaving for our evening meal & was told it'd be sorted before we returned, but it was not. Not ideal during such cold weather.

Good old fashioned town hotel with large rooms and good lounge; excellent selection and well cooked breakfasts. Lovely welcoming staff. Convenient for park and shops.
Limited comfort in some bedrooms with comfortable bed and pillows but e.g. only one poor quality wobbly chair and small desk in a large double room, and en suite bathroom and other furniture needs updating. Car parking: said it was limited but an understatement: barely room for 5 cars for 19+ bed hotel.

I was very happy to discover that the room was warm and very clean. Dan on reception/bar is very friendly and provided extra teas, sugars and towels when they needed replenishing. He fixed an issue with one of the blinds being loose in the room also straight away. Ganga hosted breakfast and she was lovely, always smiling and welcoming in the mornings. My phone charger broke and i was on zero percent battery and she went and found one for me to borrow for the next hour, lovely woman.
The pillows were fine, but personally i would have preferred a flatter and softer pillow
