The room was so cute and cozy, we both slept great and had a lovely time. The breakfast was amazing! There was loads of options including traditional and more healthy options and great veggie options too. Location was top notch and loved the separate entrance at night.

The bathroom was just was we needed, but could do with some updates I think it's just a little tired but all still functional and fine. The toilet was pretty noisy but I think that's probably because it's an older building and honestly wasn't a big deal the location of the place and how cozy it was and the great breakfast made up for it.

The room was lovely and comfortable with a double bed, excellent tea/coffee facilities with quality coffee and tea aim the room. Milk was available from the bar free of charge. The room curtains were thick ensuring the room was dark at night . The en-suite was a shower room and again was well equipped with shower/ wash gel, shampoo etc all quality products . Soft fluffy towels were provided . Dogs were welcome and Fergus loved it too. Breakfast was included in the booking cost and the breakfast was quality and plentiful plus sausage/bacon was given to our dog for breakfast as well

Just a small thing was that the drains smelt a bit in the bathroom but not really a problem

Great location right in the centre of Keswick, a couple of minutes walk from the Central Car Park. Staff were super friendly & couldn’t do more for us, including our dog! We had expected to lose our first nights stay due to bad weather across the north, but the team were super accommodating and we can’t thank them enough! We were celebrating our anniversary and had exchanged cards - we came back to our room dressed and a lovely bottle of Prosecco which was just soo sweet! The room was characterful and warm, White Company products in the bathroom were lovely, plenty of tea/coffee and biscuits in room. Knowing we’d be staying a couple of nights we wanted a room with a little more space and booked the Character Double Room with Sofa Bed - it was more than big enough for the three of us! Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, again service was excellent, there was even sausage for the pooch! We ate in the pub our first night after a long drive and afternoon exploring, the food was spot on!

Nothing at all, it’ll be our first choice of stay on our next trip to Keswick!

Staff are sooo kind and accommodating. This was a last minute trip for us as my parents fell Ill the day before they were meant to go to Keswick . We took our 1 year old baby and dog, the staff provided unlimited heated milk for my baby and let us keep the pram in the bar as there was no lift . Nothing was too much and the staff at breakfast were amazing with our dog and little boy . Makes all the difference when staff are dog and family friendly. Food at breakfast was sooo good , the best scrambled egg I’ve ever had!

Nothing - it doesn’t have a lift but it does state that when you book so this is something you are aware of Before booking. Like I said this was a last minute trip for us and was supposed to be a Xmas present for My parents .

The property was very central which made everything convenient. Parking was a little tricky however, plenty of parking nearby paid £12.20 for 1 day at the Otley Road car park not far walk from hotel. The breakfast was great and fresh & the staff in the hotel were very welcoming and friendly. We stayed in a cosy double bedroom which was perfect for our 3 night staycation. Only thing was lack of storage to hang stuff up but wasn’t much of a problem. Overall the hotel was very clean, cosy & great.

The room we stayed in was quite hot, although a fan was provided after a while circulated warm air. The window didn’t do much but again understandable you can’t move a window lol. Maybe air conditioner unit or another fan would work.

Excellent location. Friendly pleasant staff . Very clean room. Fresh milk and water provided for the room which was well appreciated. Breakfast was very tasty one of the best we have had in the Lakes. The staff were very polite and cheerful throughout our stay.

Although the room was stated a cosy double room we felt at £160 inc breakfast it was overpriced as it was the tiniest room we have ever stayed in. However the bed was very comfortable.The room had no wardrobe to hang clothes in just an open wooden clothing rack. The room was very hot and was difficult to cool down even with the windows open however they provided a fan in the room.

Super very central location in the pedestrian centre. Keswick is by far the nicest town in the Lakes to stay - they have sensibly kept traffic out of the centre, so it is a pleasure to walk around and to the lake. Other towns in the Lakes should take note as cars dominate their centres! Everything to a very high standard. The area can have boisterous pedestrians at night, but the hotel is double glazed and even provides earplugs (which we didn't need). Public parking is five minutes walk away (central longstay) and reasonably priced for 24 hours (unlimited in and out). But it's shabby that the council's pay machines DID NOT ACTUALLY WORK for credit cards!! Who carries £12.50 in coins nowadays? Or has that particular parking app on their phone?!

Staff and customer service was excellent. Really friendly. Room was really nicely presented, with a large stylish bathroom. Hotel was conveniently located in the centre of town. Food was great with breakfast included. There was actually another customer who was sat near us at breakfast who was extremely picky and awkward however the staff gave them fantastic customer service and met their expectations.

Room was quite warm, although a really good cooler/fan was provided for you to use if it got too hot. There was only a small window looking out to the vents above the kitchens in an internal courted roof. Room was a little small but still fantastically presented and cosy.

I loved that the Royal Oak is in the centre of Keswick. As a solo traveller, this made it ideal. The staff team were fantastic. My room was lovely with one of the best hospitality trays I've enjoyed. The toiletries were from The White Company, such a treat. The extras made it special. I had food both in the evening and at breakfast, and I wasn't disappointed with the selection and quality. I travelled to Keswick by train & bus with the Royal Oak, being in easy walking distance of lots of local attractions including the lake.

To short a stay

Fantastic central location. Amazing staff, always someone to help and quick service. Really friendly and cheerful. Made a fuss over my dog which was lovely, she was spoilt! Evening meal and breakfast was also really well presented and good quality with a decent selection of drinks. The room was quite small but clean, the bathroom was large in comparison. There were lots of little touches in the room such as shower caps, pillow spray and coffee machine.

The heater made a ticking noise but it was manageable.
