Excellent hotel right in the middle of Keswick town centre. Check in took less than a minute & we were up in our room. which was comfortable & sparkling clean. Bathroom was lovey & very clean with an excellent shower & bath towels the size of a small African country. We chose the Tapas sharing menu & the food was really good which came with a choice of Red or white Sangria. I didn't know White Sangria was a thing..I thought it was always red. Oh well shows what I know. Bed was extremely comfortable although I didn't really get on with the pillows which were huge but very squashy. Breakfast was again superb...a Full English (well you've got to haven't you) with as much toast, cereal pastries etc as you could manage. Lovely. I didn't eat again all day. Staff were all very friendly & efficient. Certainly gets a highly recommended from me
Teeny moan in that there were only two tea bags in the room which seemed a bit mean. We asked at reception for a few more & were given a handful of tea bags & milk sachets so not really a problem

Location is right on the main high street in Keswick close to all the other shops and bars and restaurants. Room was a good size with lovely touches and tastefully decorated. Beds were very comfy! Bath was a good size, filled fast. Bathroom mirror came with back lighting so great for make up. Lots of low level lighting in the room which is great for us autistic people who hate harsh overhead lights. Aircon worker great and wasn't too loud. Staff were lovely and attentive Breakfast was great.
While it was very very clean in the main room and the rest of the hotel the bath could have been a bit cleaner. There was grime built up in the bath/shower. The light switches were hard to figure out at first....you have to have all of the ones on by the door for the separate ones to work around the room. The flush on the toilet was a button you had to push into the wall. You have to push very hard to get it to work which if you have mobility or joint issues would prove difficult.

The room was quiet but for the afternoon/evening hours, since our window was just above an outdoor cafe/bar. We needed the circulation so we had to keep it open. By bedtime it was quiet again. The room was small, but that is usually the case in European accommodations. The beds were pushed together but they had set it with separate linens to accommodate 2 singles sharing the bed. The room had a sitting area between the bed and ensuite facility, furnished with a small divan, chair and coffee table. The furniture was not really needed and made the space seem even smaller. We only stayed one night so I suppose anyone staying longer would have found the sitting area accommodating. The room was very clean. The staff was extremely accommodating - twice retrieving 'lost' items, and even holding onto one we did not discover missing until several days after we had left town. We happened to be in Skiddaw later in the week, and on a chance we stopped by to inquire if they had perhaps found and saved it. They still had the item! This is an item that could easily have been tossed into the trash, not knowing it contained a dental retainer. That item would have been quite expensive to replace! The desk attendant tried to help us locate a taxi for our departing day's journey, but in the end none were available on short notice. Fortunately we discovered a public bus that took us right to the doorstep of our country guesthouse for a fraction of the cost!
No elevator to our room level, which was only problematic when we needed to move luggage.

The skiddaw is an excellent hotel. Spotlessly clean, friendly, helpful staff and amazing food! Both dinner and breakfast were great. The room was small and can get hot, but it was cosy and immaculately clean with a modern bathroom. To be fair it’s an old building that’s been there for a very long time so the size of the rooms is standard for that type of building. It’s decorated to high standard though and we had an amazing stay. Location is perfect being in the town centre of beautiful Keswick. This has become our go to hotel when staying in Keswick. Perfect.

Skiddaw was as we expected. Fortunate enough to park in hotel car park. Met by a very friendly concierge/check in clerk. Room was even better than expected due to what seemed recent bathroom renovation. We had a wander around the "locals" in Moot square so unfortunately didn't use your excellent conservatory bar. Sadly woken up by the council wagon in what seemed to be the middle of the night, dropping off market equipment. BUT this is NOT the hotels fault. Superb breakfast put us in a very happy mood. Evening meal was perfect, food, wine & lovely, hard working staff & to be fair, not over priced. Check out was simple. Thank you

We have stayed at the Skiddaw hotel a few times over the past 20+ years, so it was interesting to still see many of the same staff from all those years ago. Our room was clean, tidy and comfortable. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, we enjoyed the breakfasts and found the bar very comfortable for evening drinks. we didn't eat at the hotel as there is an abundance of decent eating houses in Keswick.
One of my usual hang ups with hotels is paying for parking which applies here, and although no-one's fault, the fire alarm went off just after midnight and -5 degrees, so we all stood outside while the sole night person struggled to turn the alarm off (it was a false alarm) and had to knock up another member of staff at a sister hotel across the road to help.

The hotel was lovely, very fresh and clean looking. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the breakfast service was impeccable and lovely food.
Sadly, the carpark was a nightmare, although a reduction in price through the hotel, it took over an hour to find a space due to it being so busy. The bathroom seal around the bath taps was in need of repair, and a deep clean on the shower head was required. The bed, although a very good size, was hard to sleep on and lacked comfort.

Excellent location, helpful staff, spacious comfortable room, lovely breakfast. We particularly loved the conservatory and could have sat there all day watching the world go by.
Our room overlooked the front street and on market day the council were setting up stalls at 5.45am which was pretty noisy. Wasnt the end of the world for us but if you like a lie in you would have been disappointed. Having said that,, we did think it might have been noisier on a night time but we didn't hear a thing .

Prime location. Staff lovely & professional. Hotel breakfast was excellent plenty of choice & hot breakfast cooked to order. Bar area beautiful & air conditioned. Room 11 at the top was immaculate but very hot (no air con) but we did stay during a heatwave. Very Modern decor kept spotless.
Nothing we didn’t like.

The location of the hotel is great for being able to walk around Keswick. We had a large twin room and it was a comfortable space. It was a long walk from the lift and had 2 sets of stairs to reach it. The dinner was of good quality but it was priced on the higher side so more for a special meal. Had we stayed for 2 nights we wouldn't have eaten in the hotel both evenings. The restaurant was busy but the service was still good. The breakfast was good but some of the buffet items were missing and were slow to be restocked.
The long corridor and accessibility to the room with cases wasn't easy.
