Lovely family run hotel. Kind, helpful staff. We took our little boy with us, he’s just turned 1 and he loved it too. We managed to use the pool twice, facilities were great, clean and modern. We enjoyed drinks and food in the restaurant on our first evening and it was all just fab, really busy but never had to wait longer than a few minutes. The breakfast included, we were very pleasantly surprised to find way more than we expected, so many different condiments, juices, coffees, teas, cereal, fruit and then everything on our full English breakfasts was cooked to perfection! Beds were so comfy too and spare towels were very welcome for using the pool.

Such a warm welcome, all the staff had enthusiasm and a smile, place is obviously an old building so has it’s to-do list of rectification, but that aside it was a great blend of old and new, bar had locals and workmen in providing a buzz, doing in the bar was cosy with the locals, but there was a small quiet dining room so a perfect blend of all visiting. Rooms are as expected from an older place, exactly what you need, but bed was a little firm, personal preferences there, hotel top to bottom was clean enough, gym area was very modern feeling, enough to have a good session but more than 5 people around the machines would feel crowded, pool area was fantastic, just a very pleasant place to spend time, only thing I could say, if that was close enough I’d 100% be a member Front door to back door, stay was very very good, not sure what else could improve it, unless it was free! Oh food was also very good, nothing to complicated on the menu, but of a great standard and enough to cater for all tastes, breakfast was swift and very good quality and nicely set up.

Personal preference only, overly firm bed, old building so hard to be picky, but central heating was clunky all night even with it off in the room Oh there is a bulge in the carpet in the lobby, deadly lol, I watched the wife trip, laughed and then did it myself later on.

Upon arrival, our reception was fabulous very friendly staff from start to finish. Comfortable room very warm, food was amazing breakfast was so good evening meal was also very good also very clean. The spa was lovely good size pool and best jacuzzi I have been in steam room great but sauna was cold. Good wine in the bar Just a really friendly atmosphere loved our stay Thank you so much

Not much not to like really the only negative things were no towel rail in the toilet and pillows very flat very minor. If it was summer we would of loved the room with the balcony also would of been perfect for the dog

It was a Spa hotel, family run for families. In a location, we had never been before. Good swimming pool and family changing room. Nice town to go for a walk.Quaint town but good roads to travel to attractions. We were in new block very nice twin room with ensuite bathroom with shower. Hotel catered for all our requirements for meals and staff were very helpful with our baby's needs.

Room was very warm. Fan in room was very noisey, to loud to cool the room down. Childs travel cot given - mattress had a gap - so unsafe for the baby with us to sleep in, as if she rolled, she couldn't roll back. We did mention this before we left.

The location and facilities were great - we wanted to enjoy a short break and walk on the Offa's Dyke path, which was very easily accessible. I chose the Burton Hotel as I wanted a swimming pool, in case the weather was bad and walking was not an option. The hotel was cosy and popular, with the bar full of guests and locals. Staff were friendly and efficient and explained access to facilities at the outset. The food and drink served in the bar (we didn't use the restaurant) was good quality and very enjoyable. Included breakfast was of a good standard. The swimming pool and changing rooms were clean and staff were constantly keeping things clean and tidy.

Standard rooms are quite small and plainly furnished, but acceptable for the price paid. There was an issue with the room we were allocated. Staff attended immediately and we were offered another room straight away, ending up with an upgrade. There were some really minor things eg. loo roll holders loosely secured, but nothing that would bother me. This is a pleasant hotel with super helpful staff, good food and great facilities.

I stayed here to go to the Hay on Wye festival. For that to work, you need a car (about 40 min drive). For me it was really convenient and I thought it was good to stay a little way away from the festival. There are also nice walks around Kington - Offa's Dyke goes through the area. The room was small (a single) but comfortable. The swimming pool is great. The restaurant was also good.

A rail in the shower for hanging up the wet swim suit would be handy.

Staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. Bar menu was good and gave a couple of tasty vegetarian options. The spa facilities were great and after checking out we were allowed to return later that day for a treatment by Gemma and use of the swimming pool again.

The towels that were given to us to use in the spa were miniscule. Very disappointing. If I'd been paying to use the spa, I would have been hugely disappointed by the size and quality of these towels

This was our second visit to the Burton Hotel. On arrival we were able to upgrade to a room in a separate block from the main hotel. Lovely room with king size bed and large screen TV. We made good use of the spa facilities which was great after a long motorcycle ride on a hot and humid day. We had a good few pints in the bar and a lovely meal in the restaurant. Best mixed grill I've had in years.

Went to restaurant for breakfast. Good array of options. I resisted temptation to go for the full English and opted for kippers and poached eggs. Eggs were cooked to perfection but unfortunately the kippers weren't cooked at all. They were cold and raw in the middle. A very disappointing end to what was otherwise a great stay.

I have stayed here on numerous occasions great place to stay but did notice place was understaffed The staff are great and work hard but can only be in one place at a time the girl who was hoovering in the bar had to come and sort me out at breakfast as no one was around or busy doing something else Same as bar had to wait at bar as bar girl was checking someone in or doing something else Nothing major but little things make a difference All in all great place food was great nice spa and friendly staff would stay here again

I stayed in a 'single' room for one night while on a journey through Wales - a halfway house and found it perfect for the need. There is a spa with pool, steam and sauna rooms, which is really lovely. The food was excellent - although staff seemed a little unnerved by discovering I was vegetarian - but quickly showed me alternatives on the menu! I'd really recommend this hotel.

It was above expectations and I don't have anything to say that I didn't like.
