16th century inn, full of character, a cosy bar with a range of local beers. Had a single room so I can't speak for the doubles. My room was warm and comfortable, single bed fine, with en suite facilities, kettle and tea/coffee, small TV. The floor sloped a little, but no problem. Toilet and shower might be a little cramped for some people but again no problem for me. Excellent breakfast with wide choice of cereals, full English and toast. Manageress and barman friendly and helpful. At £55 a night this was cracking value for money.

Flushing the toilet produced a sudden roaring noise, but only for about a second. You get used to it.

Lovely old and quirky building, clean and comfortable room looking out on garden, very warm and friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere in the bar, delicious supper with generous helpings, very convenient location for town centre and walking on Hergest Ridge, as well as visiting Hergest Croft Gardens.

Toilet seat and wash basin a bit wobbly but otherwise we enjoyed the quirkiness of the place.

We really enjoyed our stay in this friendly pub in a picturesque setting with beautiful walks in every direction. My dog was made very welcome with her very own welcome pack and access to an enclosed, pretty beer garden. The pub had a relaxed, friendly atmosphere which is obviously well-liked by both locals and walkers. The very tasty breakfasts were made exactly to our request and catered well for vegetarians.

Really welcoming country pub in a great location for walkers. Plenty on the doorstep and nice to have a local pub vibe. Room was clean and tidy. More on functional side than full comfort but worked really well and reflected in the price. Would stay again.

A desk would have been helpful but that’s because I was the fool that’s working. Not needed for most guests.

The cereal selection was excellent, mine was served with fresh raspberries and strawberries. the toast was made with fresh brown bread . Instead of the usual english breakfast I asked for a bacon sandwich to take with me which was happily provided wrapped in foil. Susan, the manager, could not have been more helpful.

The property is very old and does not lend itself to bathroom facilities of a standard size, but they are new. No on site parking facilities, but has free public parking across the road.

Old Tudor inn with many quirky features. Food very good. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Great value for money (£65 per night single b & b). This was my third year in a row staying here.

The beds are slightly short for people over 6'2". The one in room one has a metal frame which prevents stretching out over the end.

Loveky old building with pub and restaursnt. Bedrooms are clean and tidy Food at night was good Breakfast was okay. Nothing spectacular but like being at home. It was cheap and for the money perfect for a night stop.. This is obviously the meeting place at night for the townfolk..very chatty

You had to park over the road and being an old building the stairs are steep. Not for the infirm There was nothing to dislike and you didnt want for anything but for what you paid it was fine

warm friendly environment ,excellent service throughout all areas of hotel staff could not have done more ,food was superb cooked to perfection and accomaded our prefrence , the regulars to the bar(pub) were also very friendly the building it self was quirky but yoy expect that in a 16th century inn (but had moderen facilities)

The welcome on arrival set the tone for the stay: friendly & straight to our room. We were then able to relax in beer garden until our evening meal was ready & nothing was too much trouble & the breakfast was better than places costing twice as much. Awesome banter in the bar until it was time to sleep. A great place to stay

Part of an Offa's Dyke walk and this is right on the trail, so we were away the next morning. The rooms are basic but comfortable and the pub downstairs does the hearty meals that you need after 8 hours of walking. The breakfasts are good too. It's an old building and you can feel the history.

No complaints really, it's good for the price and perfect for Offa's Dyke walkers.
