The evening meal - oh my, it was wonderful! Definitely among the best we've had anywhere. Our room was lovely (Honeysuckle), the bed was huge, and the wet room/shower room was spectacular! The attention to detail was noticeable throughout, many thoughtful little additions that made us feel welcome. The staff were uniformly welcoming and friendly without being 'in your face'. Thank you for a lovely stay
Only thing I could say was the steep slippery walk down from the car park was challenging for me as I have restricted mobility. But husband did it after the first time, so that was ok And in otherwise suberb standard we thought the coffee at breakfast was only average, sorry! Oh and one thing more: DO NOT USE SAT NAV to find the place, it took us over hills and dales on single track mud tracks: incredibly stressful!!! Northcote Manor is literally on the A377, and coming from the east as we were, take M5 to Exeter, then A377 to the actual gates! maybe marginally longer but actually driveable....

Room was very nice with lovely wetroom style shower.
I didn't have a breakfast as I was leaving early, so the evening before I was given two flabby croissants and an apple for my breakfast the next day (this could have been better!) The hotel is quite a distance down a long narrow muddy road and needs better signage (if it's there, I missed it, and I wasn't even sure I was at the right venue. Also in the hotel grounds they could do with better signage outside for directions to the carparking, reception, etc. When I was in the hotel grounds I parked in a very muddy field which seemed to be labelled as the carpark, but I later discovered another better one, but by then I had wandered round for a while in the dark, trying to work out where the main entrance was, in the meanwhile getting very muddy dragging my suitcase along

The welcome was great. The staff were like friends, they listened to our life stories and shared some of their own. They also had and used their sense of humour. The Spa facilities were excellent and the evening meals were both great food and a real fine dining experience. All in all a very happy and relaxing couple of days a worthy stay for our fiftieth wedding anniversary. Congratulations to all at Northcote Manor.
There was nothing to complain about it was an excellent stay.

The location was beautiful and peaceful. Loved the manor and all of the staff were especially attentive ,helpful and polite. The Spa was wonderful and we had heavenly spa treatments from Natalie and Rosie who were so friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious too.
Only 1 thing the green alarm in the ceiling was very bright and annoying but everything else was superb. We will come again for sure

The location was wonderful- peaceful, beautiful woodlands and views from our windows. We had very comfortable rooms with nicely equipped bathrooms and little extras like home-made shortbread in a tin and fresh fruit. Breakfast was delicious and the spa pool and jacuzzi were excellent. Special mention for the young staff who were welcoming and worked hard to make our stay as pleasant as possible.
We were a bit disappointed by the restaurant. The only dinner menu offered was fairly expensive - £55 for three courses - and wasn’t very impressive (spinach gritty, lamb a bit tough, liver parfait served with a tiny triangle of toast). We didn’t really want three courses, anyway, but there was no alternative as the bar/lounge meals stopped at 5.30. On our second night we drove 25 minutes to a village pub to eat.

The building, location and very welcoming staff, very peaceful setting, perfect for relaxing.
Breakfast area, needed more attention, felt very bare, add some soft furnishings, flowers on tables, replace sauce sachets with sauce in serving dishes, some tables rather tired.

Without doubt it is the staff who make this hotel what it is. They couldn't be more helpful or friendly. The dining menu was imaginative, the food beautifully cooked, well presented and extremely good value considering the ingredients and skill of the chefs. Breakfast was a joy. It included all the usual obvious dishes but several options including smoked haddock with poached eggs and what were, IMO, the best kippers I've ever had. The Spa, set in a splendid location offering fabulous views over the verdant Devon countryside from the hot tub, swimming pool, gymnasium and even the sauna! But moreover it was noticeably clean unlike some we've probably all experienced.
Difficult to find any fault at all. Personally I found the mattress to be a bit too soft but for a few nights only it was fine. Other than that I can't think of any other criticism whatsoever.

The breakfast was excellant. The fixed price dinner was fab, A nice comfortable room. Fantastic grounds for walking, with or without our dog.
Did not agree with the £10 per night charge for our dog. Yes, bowls and treats were in the room but the charge was not necessary. The price of the evening meal at £55 per head was way over the top. Cheaper in London W1.

Beautiful location, quiet, relaxing, beautiful manor house and grounds. Spa is amazing!
Breakfast was good quality food. Full English was tasty but there just wasn't enough of it & there were no beans!! Would be better if we had more mushrooms, a whole black pudding instead of half!

had to change rooms as the shower ran cold while using. They were happy to change the room and second room was excellent. food was expensive but excellent. great chef. We opted for the gourmet dinner which was exceptional except for the baked Alaska. Wine was good great selection and well priced. but only had by the glass as didn't want a bottle. breakfast had great choice and was served hot.
Due to the Pandemic, I assume like many places the hotel needs a little sprucing up, windows cleaned and some glazing replaced. The drive up to the Manor is long and steep and in some places narrow. just hoped nothing very big was coming the other way. Steep walk up to the car park . but the grounds are well kept. not a place for someone with limited mobility.
