The rooms are situated away from the main building, which is good, as you avoid any noise from the bar/restaurant/function room and garden areas. The room and bathroom were very clean. The bed and pillows were comfy. The room had everything we needed including a fan. (No air con, but the windows could be fully opened.) We had an evening meal sitting in the garden area. Disappointed that there were no salads offered on the menu, particularly as we were there during an extremely hot weekend. Breakfast was lovely - buffet for continental items, with the cooked options cooked to order. Well situated for visiting the local towns and RHS Rosemoor.

Our room was very clean with a very comfortable bed. Everything we needed was provided to make our stay comfortable. We were very pleased with our accommodation, I would be happy to stay again. Very quiet even with being very close to main road.
When we walked through Reception on our way to breakfast, the receptionist did not acknowledge us. My husband pointedly said Good Morning & she then managed a Hello but was not welcoming. The staff need more training in good service. Breakfast was very disorganised, we had to ask for crockery for continental breakfast( they had run out ). We were supposed to have our cooked breakfast order taken when our hot drinks were served so it could be cooked whilst we ate our toast, cereal etc. We ended up having to catch a waitress to take our order & others who came in after us were served first. When our cooked breakfast finally arrived it was a tepid temperature with a solid fried egg. The staff were polite & keen to please but more training needs to be given.

The room was very clean, the bathroom was exceptional with a full size bath, loved the tiling on the walls. We didn't book breakfast when making the booking , paid for on the day, no issues with finding a table. One set price which I though was a good idea. Staff throughout the hotels and bar were very polite and helpful. We had a issue with the room fan stopped working halfway through our stay. It was changed by the time we returned to the room... no fuss.
I can honestly say there was nothing which comes to mind as far as anything we didn't like.

Excellent location; lovely surroundings; quiet room even though the main pub was very busy; good value for money but we stayed outside of the school holidays so that may have made a difference; good choice of food; lots of parking spaces.
The room was a bit tired with chipped paint in places and one of the drawer knobs wasn't screwed on properly; stains on the bathroom wall; would have been nice if there was a blind to pull down over the glass panel of the room door so the light didn't come through at night.

We attended a wedding at The Cedars . We arrived early , our superior room was ready . So could have checked in. However as we had our dog. With us we had to swap with my daughter who was arriving later.. The standard wasn't ready so as we had things to do we went off and returned later. When we returned I explained the situation to Lou and we checked in. All of tne reception staff were welcoming friendly. , and helpful and are a credit to Cedars. It makes a change from sullen ones we have encountered in other hotels.. All tne staff were friendly and helpful during our stay. Great dog friendly place.
The stairs up to the standard room. Fine for us but I feel this should be mentioned in the description. The other point to mention is just to clarify the eating areas dogs are allowed.

Firstly, the extensive well kept grounds and gardens in country surroundings. The friendly and attentive staff throughout the hotel were very helpful and always cheerful. The room (no: 7) was extremely spacious and comfortable in a separate attractive block and close to the car park. The large dining room was very pleasant, the food was wonderful, both breakfast and evening dinners were superb, we ate there all three nights of our stay. We could see why it is a lovely wedding venue.
Nothing popped up, we couldn’t find a fault at all, not that we went looking.

Liked everything. Vee the manager is lovely. I had a quiet room as requested. Beautifully clean. Comfortable bed. Excellent shower room. And really wonderful smiley staff from cleaners to breakfast and evening staff and reception. Breakfast and evening meal service very good. Asked for fruit salad for desert and although it wasn’t on menu they produced a fabulous fruit salad!
A tiny thing would be to have a packet of biscuits in the bedroom. But that is the only thing I can think of!

Location 10 minutes drive into the town centre. Plenty of free parking. Nice quiet rooms in a courtyard setting. If you have mobility difficulties please ask for a downstairs room with shower. I didn’t ask and first room allocated was up steep steps and had a bath. Receptionist quickly found me a more suitable room. Restaurant was in a lovely conservatory. Menu had a good selection with 20% off for residents. Everything we ate there was very good. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
First room allocated looked rather tired and the steps up to the first floor were very steep.

The room was very nicely decorated with a view to the garden which made the mornings lovely with the sun peeking through the leaves. Can notice the bathroom was upgraded and the bed was very comfortable, pillows including. Despite hearing all the steps from room above (felt like a tap dancer at 6am), the place itself was quiet despite having a busy pub. Breakfast was decent and the pub has a nice interior. Plenty of car park spaces and location was perfect for what I needed.
I loved the lamp but when I had a look at it could see was hanging for dear life in one screw. Some TLC and will worth more pennies. A lot of pretty big potholes heading to car park that could be leveled up. I could see other people when in the shower and when noticed had same type of window I ended up having mine in the dark as bit uncomfortable with the idea, could do with some blinds if windows not allowed be changed.
