The staff were very nice and helpful. I had emailed prior to arrival requesting help with parking, and they had a spot reserved for us. It was a lifesaver because we arrived on a Saturday afternoon and there was no parking anywhere within walking distance. I also appreciated the history of Wurzburg and the must-see attractions. We loved that they stocked the minibar with beer and local wine; it was a very nice touch! And they had chocolate in the lobby in the afternoon and fresh fruit in the morning. The only thing I wish I had done was reserve breakfast. Not a lot is open on Sunday mornings, which I should have known. We found a bakery but I'm sure it was mediocre compared to the breakfast served by the proprietors.

The owners were wonderful!.................our group of 4 talked about our time with them for days after.....................No AC, but our room had large floor to ceiling windows that had views of the fortress across the river and breezes at night.............early (6 AM) street cleaners could be heard..........don't miss the breakfast $$- it's SPECIAL.........ask the front desk for directions nearby to great restaurants..........walk to "The Residence" - a PALACE you should not miss (LOTS of photos)......then out front take the #9 bus to the Fortress across the river (super views of the bridge and the town) - don't walk there..........and the old main bridge with statues is a gathering places for tourists and fun....We missed trying the "fish & chips boat" on the river near the bridge for a unique seafood experience (for low $)......................

A very attractive and well-kept property. Excellent quality finishings. Very clean - both the room and the hotel, in general. The bed was very comfortable, and linens were of excellent quality. Breakfast was so delicious and so attractively plated. Breakfast was an additional cost, but was well worth the money. Most wonderful of all were the hosts. They were kind and very friendly, while maintaining a level of professionalism in everything they did. I don’t know if we’ll ever get back to Wurzburg, but if we do, this hotel will be our first choice for accommodations.

There was nothing we did not like.

A very well run family hotel, within walking distance of centre of Wurzburg. We had a large room with very comfortable bed, good bathroom. We did not worry about the lack of air conditioning…there was a large, very effective quiet fan that we could move to get optimum breeze. We could also open the windows during the night, though the road outside did become busy early morning so best to shut then. There is a parking bay outside the hotel to use to unload luggage and the large multi-storey car park is literally round the corner. It is expensive but no more than parking anywhere else. We did not have breakfast in the hotel but sure it would be of same high standard. The gentleman on reception was extremely helpful with directions for parking , and suggestions on best way to walk into the city. It is a pleasure to meet such friendliness and professionalism. The lady owner was charming and friendly…this is an extremely well managed hotel.

Little things are what separate the best from the very good, and Das v Evert (DvE) abounds in those little things. Of course, you expect a clean room, a comfortable bed, a safe surrounding area, and a kind welcome wherever you stay, and DvE did all of these things well. The parking onsite is an additional plus. But the little things: - a delightful breakfast, unlike any you will experience elsewhere. No, it's not a buffet, but it was the most eye-friendly, curated and, dare I say, fun meal of our trip; - a gently stocked fridge with a complementary beer, wine, and water; - the most important of all: hosts who treat you as guests in their home, rather than as a transaction. Wolfgang and Nina are friendly, engaging and gracious, and we thoroughly enjoyed our talks with them on Wurzburg's history and travel experiences. We heartily recommend DvE for a stay in Wurzburg!

A great location in the old center of Würzburg. The owners are one of a kind.:-) They run this hotel with love and dedication. The kindness we were treated with is amazing. We fell in love with the building, the location and with Wolfgang and Nina, who made our stay very special. We would definitely recommend this hotel to all who visit this town with great history. Even more if you are a couple, because you feel so welcome here, it was the best hotel we have been in for a long long time. We will come back for sure. We give this hotel and the two wonderful kind couple that runs this place a big 10+ Xx

Nothing, it was above expectations.

We truly appreciate their hospitality and kindness to make our stay comfortable and memorable in Würzburg. The owner of the hotel Nina and Wolfgang were fabulous people who were taking care of their guests so closely and helping out as much as possible they could. Their professional services were incredible and unforgettable. We were very fortunate knowing them and staying there. Also they provide a beautiful homemade breakfast which was so amazing . I would highly recommend this Hotel. Thank you again!

Nothing really

We just enjoyed an excellent 3 night at Das v Evert. What puts this above other fine hotels is the warmth, professionalism, knowledge and dedication of Wolfgang and Nina. They made our stay special. Our room was large and comfortable and well appointed and we slept very well. (It was a plus to have a fan to use at night for ventilation and white noise. We also opened the windows at the top.) We appreciated the free water and kind gift at the end of our stay. The room and hotel were sparkling clean. Fresh fruit was available and we had beautiful fresh flowers in the room. The hotel location is very convenient and safe. We arrived on a Friday with no dinner plans, and after listing a few options, Wolfgang worked his magic and we had reservations at the wonderful Backöfele (even though they were very busy). We then reserved for Saturday at another of his recommended restaurants, Gasthaus Alte Mainmühle, and it was beautiful. This is a stay we will look back on with pleasure.

We liked everything.

The breakfast was exceptionally beautiful and delicious, including small dishes of fruits, meats, fish, an egg, salads, cheeses, freshly made spreads and good coffee all different in color and texture and seasoning. The presentation couldn’t be better. The hosts were extremely warm and welcoming. The recent renovations respect the prewar style of the building and preserves some beautiful decorative details, but add lots of fun modern touches. Really creates a modernized extension of home feeling, like you were visiting a Wurzburg friend’s home. .

Nina and Wolfgang provided exceptional service for my 6 night stay. The room was spacious with many windows and blackout curtains. Bed was comfortable and the room was cleaned each day. Fresh flowers and beer/wine were stocked in the mini-fridge each day. Great location near many restaurants and across the street from the Congress Centrum - short walk to the center of the old town. I had the breakfast two days and it was prepared with great care. Highly recommend staying here.
