I had a wonderful stay at Fano Kroogard. This is lovely waterside boutique hotel on the island of Fano. It is perfectly situated on the North side of the island. It is 5 minutes by walk from the ferry and 20 minutes by bike to the beach, with bikes available to rent on site. The whole property has a calm and cozy ambience. There is a reading nook on the main floor, and a terrace overlooking the waterfront. The decor is so well done with so much attention to detail. The rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious. If you manage to get a suite overlooking the water, you’ll be able to take in the wildlife of the Wadden sea, and see seals out your window. There is a restaurant on the main floor that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. As a hotel guest, the breakfast in the morning is a choice between several local inspired dishes. I had several different meals at the restaurant and every time the food was delicious. For lunch they offer traditional open sandwiches and for dinner several vergetable and seafood entrees. The restaurant is clearly a favourite spot on the island among locals, as it was always full. Above all, the staff is so lovely and they made my stay extra special. They upgraded me to a lovely room with a seaside view and provided excelled recommendations of things to do on the island. I will definitely be coming back to this place.

I liked the fact that the hotel provided a great opportunity to visit the island but also that I was able to work smoothly from our room (which was upgraded without being solicited). The environment was very quiet and relaxing. I loved the food served at the restaurant but for us breakfast was the most enjoyable meal. We loved the tasteful, simple beauty of the property.

There was a little problem with the sink, but that did not affect our stay

The location was more urban than expected, on a road and opposite a distant industrial site but nevertheless it was fairly quiet and pleasant. The window seats in the bedroom were particularly comfortable. The town is delightful. We enjoyed watching the seals. The decor is charming.

There were no condiments at breakfast and it would have been nice to be able to make a cup of tea outside of meal times. Quite a long way to walk to find a quiet country stroll.

Very cute room, comfortable bed. No air conditioning or mini fridge but we had brought our own cooler. Dinner at the restaurant wasn't vegetarian friendly but the breakfast was very nice.

The room was a bit stuffy so we had to open the windows, which then let in at least one spider (we removed him on our way out the next morning). Parking was also a bit awkward but I feel the entire area would be the same.

The stay was wonderful, the whole hotel was decorated for Christmas and the atmosphere was so nice. The breakfast was outstanding and there was a great selection of very tasty food, the service was wonderful and I would recommend the hotel to anyone. The standard in the restaurant was also extremely high and the value for money was unbeatable. I really enjoyed my stay on my own and felt very comfortable. I will definitely be back.

Very friendly personnel, amazing restaurant, breakfast is outstanding and included. Seals sitting just by the coastline in front of hotel, made some beautiful pictures.

The pillows were quite shallow for me, I normally sleep on firmer, thicker pillows. Perhaps if I asked they might have given me another one, but I have only discovered it at night and didn’t want to go out again.

Very attractive hotel, inside and out; our room was beautifully furnished and looked out over a sandbank where seals haul themselves out (binoculars provided!); enjoyed a lunch, two evening meals and two breakfasts at the hotel; delicious food well presented; staff very pleasant and capable. Hotel is well situated, a short walk from the ferry. Really enjoyed our stay.

Very nice view from the room. There were seals 🦭 chilling on the beach right in front of the hotel. The staff was amazing. Everyone spoke perfect English. The rooms are very cosy, Hygee.

The hotel is very close to the ferry, so there was a bit of traffic.

A positive experience from the moment we arrived. A great hotel with excellent, friendly staff and a cool atmosphere. We ate in the restaurant twice and enjoyed it immensely. The breakfast is something special as well. Can’t wait to get back there

Great location, cozy old building, view to the sea from the room and restaurant with outdoor tarrace, really good breakfast.

Room was tiny, it was fine for the weekend but longer stay would be a challenge.
