The pool was absolutely lovely and staff very attentive. Breakfast, great variety and good service. The room with sea view was fabulous.

The only thing I didn't like was the bed. A double bed that is made up of two beds that move when you are sleeping in the middle as sitting on rolls is not what you would expect in a 5 star hotel

We had an exceptional time at Royal Hotel San Remo. The pool staff and the front desk could not have been better! They were very accommodating to our needs and always went out of their way to please us. The hotel pool was spotless and I loved the salt water! There was more than enough to eat at breakfast as the variety of foods catered to different tastes. We stayed in room 401 and were very happy with the bed and pillows. I am shocked at the negative reviews posted by others as the Royal Hotel exceeded my expectations. If you are looking for a 5 star hotel that is walking distance to the center of San Remo and steps away from a magnificent pool, then Royal Hotel is the place for you! We will definitely be coming back!

Everything was perfect

We were greeted by the excellent reception staff who provided a thorough briefing of the facilities of the hotel. We then enjoyed a fantastic massage & all facilities provided in the spa area. Later on in the evening we were spoilt by the professionalism of the lounge/bar staff.

Admittedly, we were a little late down to breakfast but within time limits, however we were met with unbelievable hostility & conduct that I would not expect from a five star hotel. When I finally managed to secure a table, obtain my own cutlery & then sit down to try & enjoy my breakfast, I started to make some observations. I realised that the breakfast staff were considerably younger, inattentive to customer requirements & at times I was unsure as to whether I was actually in a breakfast room or watching mannequins strolling along a modelling catwalk-extremely disappointed.

We loved absolutely everything. I have stayed here before but not for many years and it was nice to bring my own family back to a place I used to stay as a child. Everything was as I remember it and my family loved it as much as I do. The pool is the highlight for us - I don't think I have ever swum in a nicer pool! The food (dinner and breakfast) and the service are exceptional. Everyone at the hotel is so friendly and helpful. I won't leave it so long next time to return.

Everything was perfect

From start to finish it was a delightful experience a real 5 star hotel in every aspect. The setting, the facilities, the rooms, the service, all was so excellently delivered without a fuss.

The only wrinkle was breakfast. Good food but served buffet style. It was not in keeping with the otherwise 5 star plus nature of the hotel. You could see most guest found queuing for their food somewhat alien and were uncomfortable. The staff used to waiting tables for lunch and diner were equally as uncomfortable.

We were upgraded on arrival and the room and facilities were excellent. The hotel staff were particularly helpful and friendly, and all were very well turned out - with separate uniforms depending upon the time of day. The location overlooking the sea was very attractive, and the pool, lounge and bar areas were exceptional.

The wine list was of high quality, but was fairly inflexible in terms of both price and wines available by the glass as opposed to bottles of wine. The dinner menu was also somewhat restricted. My wife's pasta dish was inadequately cooked and had to be returned. This inevitably involved a considerable wait and meant that we couldn't eat our main courses at the same time - not a particularly good outcome. It would perhaps have been reasonable to have made some allowance for this in the dinner bill but none was offered.

I liked the private seawater pool, and the sun loungers were included in the price. The breakfasts were also wonderful.

Unfortunately, the hotel does not provide a transfer from the train station, and it’s about a 30-minute walk from there. The biggest downside was that I chose this hotel because it was listed on Booking as having its own private beach, even on the first line. However, the hotel only has a pool — there is no beach area by the sea.

Everything was easy and I felt completely safe. Brunch was excellent, as were staff, the room, and access to the pool and facilities. I loved the short walk into old town Sanremo every night to absorb the culture, have a cold beer and good bite. The location is excellent. Secluded and exclusive, but right next to everything.

The hotel filled up and I had to leave a couple of days early because I did not book my original stay long enough. Kinda fell in love with the tranquility of the place, but that is on me.

Beautiful property, location, swimming pool, lounge chairs, landscaping were very nice.

The food at the lounge and bar was awful and very expensive, we did not have any lunches and dinners at the hotel after that experience. There are a lot of restaurants close by with excellent food for 1/2 of the price.

Beautiful hotel with amazing views out to sea. Staff were incredible and absolutely made our stay. Breakfast was lovely sitting out on patio - would have loved dinner there as well but unfortunately weather did not allow. We received a room upgrade on arrival which is always a nice touch. San Remo is a lovely town and definitely worth a visit.

Rooms don’t have a bath and showers have overhead waterfall heads which means you always get your hair wet. Hand held attachment isn’t positioned so that you can use as a lower height shower. No dressing table with mirror which means you have to stand in bathroom for hair and makeup. Service in restaurant was amazing but unfortunately food was very average and quite pricey, as are drinks (€20 for an aperol spritz)
