Check in was easy and reception staff helpful and friendly.Room was bright, modern and spacious. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and fresh products. Hotel is on a busy road but glazing is very good and was not a problem at night.

Areas outside of rooms and lifts were dark and a bit scruffy and bags of laundry and cleaning equipment were often left lying around. It was a good 10/15 min walk into the old part of Menton where most restaurants and places of interest are.

The Napoleon is perfectly situated to explore beautiful Menton. We had a good sized seaview room with balcony. Every day our room was cleaned, fresh towels provided, bottled water, Coca Cola and fruit juices replenished. Bonus was the provision of exquisite L'Occitane toiletries - lush. Breakfast was continental style and delicious. Never too busy. Pool towels and beach towels available on request from reception. Staff were very welcome and helpful.

The only minor difficulty we experienced related to the air conditioning. For our first few nights, the room was just too warm for our liking so we approached the front desk for assistance on more than one occasion however various staff were unable to assist with one advising it was auto set at 19 degrees and could not be altered to a lower temperature. Perhaps comfortable for some but totally uncomfortable for us. Eventually (day 3) a night porter visited the room and instructed us how it operated.

It was easy to walk into town. Location was quiet. We had a room with a garden view. The breakfast was varied and good quality. The hairdryer was not too fierce which is usually the case

One sachet of milk in the room had gone off. We got some more from reception with no problem. One day we only had one bath towel so had to ask for another which we got again with no problem. I would have liked a electrical point near to a mirror for my heated hairbrush, but maybe this is not done for health and safety.

Breakfast and selection of cheese was excellent. Decorr beautiful and very comfortable. I liked the location although it was very noisy …walk to train station was easy and bus right outside door. Staff lovely …the staff at breakfast were fatuous and so friendly. My room had every comfort imaginable.

I wish staff had known more about local sights to see.

Room was good size with a large balcony - only problem was that the road outside was noisy (as we had been warned). So that made using the balcony not really viable. Breakfast was good value - choice was a bit limited - but the price was reasonable. Bar, reception and waiting staff were lovely. Good location within easy walk of everything.

A well run hotel and a pleasant stay. Unfortunately the view from the bedroom was a bit obscured by the yacht car park - soon to be made bigger we gather. But look to the right up the bay and the view of Menton is lovely.

The check-in was easy, with nice staff and good rooms. The breakfast was excellent and so was the pool. The bar which was open 24h a day also had excellent food and drinks! The hotel location was good, even when I was a little bit sceptical with the parking lot on the other side but it didn’t bother us at all. The minibar in your room was also complimentary which was nice.

Well the elevator was… interesting. It bounced. The cleaning was good, but the only problem was that since the sound isolation wasn’t great you could hear them clean all day. Also, the A/C made a weird bubbling noise like an aquarium.

Hotel Napoleon is a good hotel. Excellent, large, clean & comfortable room with everything you need to make a pleasant stay. Staff were all very accommodating, and the hotel had a good breakfast selection.

We arrived for a few days late August, and the weather, although hot, was wet, and quite a few of the beach restaurants/bars had already closed down for the season. It is quite a long walk to town, (it's flat, so easy enough) but tyring having to do it several times, every day. The hotel had no cook/chef, so few options for a meal at night without shleping back to town. As a couple, we were overrun by families...

Booked the hotel specifically to get a sea view room with balcony, which is just what we got. A larger balcony than expected with views to Old Menton on one side and over to Italy on the other. It did overlook a busy road and a public leisure area (as expected ). The room was spacious and very nicely presented.

We were forewarned about road noise, though this didn't really present a problem. We were in the room next to the adjoining apartment block and noise from there wasn't adequately suppressed, but neighbours were considerate, so no sleepless nights.

Ours was a good sized, quiet room - I can't believe some earlier reviews saying this hotel is noisy, it was calm, well decorated and perfect for our stay. The staff were all extremely helpful, especially the reception team and the bar staff. The availability of snacks in the bar was also a real advantage but recommendations for local restaurants were very helpful.

Our room with balcony overlooking the bay was clean, comfortable and tastefully furnished in modern style. Indeed that sums up the hotel. The location is about a 5 minute walk from the old town and we were able to park nearby (places on the road are scarce but the hotel does have some of its own if reserved). Decent breakfast.

No downsides - no restaurant but everything from higher end to pizza available within a short walk.
