We truly enjoyed our stay at this hidden gem of a hotel! We loved the quiet and calmness of being out of the major tourist area. We would awake each morning to the birds and the amazing smell of orange blossoms. It is a lovely boutique hotel with an old world European ambiance. However, the hotel is up on the hillside, and it is about a 20 minute walk down to the old town. The walk up is about 20-30 min depending on the route you choose. In the beginning, I wasn't too happy with the walk. But, I quickly came around and enjoyed the "stroll" down into town. We definitely got our steps in! The rooms are comfortable, charming and thoughtfully designed, but a bit on the small side. We had a ground floor garden room with our own private outdoor area. Although we didn't have a view, we appreciated the private outdoor space. Also, if we wanted to enjoy the hotel grounds, we could just walk right out of back sliding glass doors. The breakfast was wonderful with a lot of choices. Very friendly, courteous and professional staff. Bar is open until 11:00 and they do have a limited menu for room service. Would we stay here again? Absolutely!

Perhaps consider offering optional shuttle into town?

The hotel is located on the hillside in Nice. Beautiful views. Daniel was amazing, he was like a personal ambassador for the city of Nice. So welcoming.

Our room was right off the lobby. Noisy. Booking.com rooms seem to all be ADA rooms. I had requested parking, but it had been given away. The parking was street parking many blocks away.

A fantastic, romantic hotel, we had a lovely week at this beautiful place. In a peaceful, but still central part of Nice, surounded by nature and beautiul villas. Spacious room with a modern bathroom and nice bed. Magical view over the town and see! A breakfast buffe that included everything we could wish for. On top of this - all the nice people that are working there. Perfect service and provided great advise on restaurants, places to visit and made sure we were well taken care of. I hope to come back one day.

Nothing to unlike.

Everything about this property was exceptional!. The place felt like home, and it was small enough that you got to personally and professionally know the staff and they knew you as well. The owner even made an appearance on a night that they had supplied a jazz band for music on the back lawn. That was absolutely exceptional! The hotel was clean every inch of it, it felt so much like home, there were electric bikes for use, they had several areas where you could just sit and relax outside, and the rooms were plenty big and very comfortable!

There is nothing that we didn’t like about this property

Hotel du Petit Palais is situated in a most attractive part of Nice and it is the ideal location for those who want a quiet retreat in an old style property. The staff are very friendly and helpful, our room was spacious and comfortable with a balcony and fine views over the city. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice.

My only reservation is that the property is about a ten minute walk from the main part of Nice and there is no convenient bus stop in the vicinity. This was an attraction for us because we like to walk as much as possible during a city visit and the Hotel is well placed for both the Chagall and Matisse Museums.

All staff were very friendly and welcoming, it felt very personable and truly an intimate hotel in a residential area . My room was super clean, very well equipped, great air con and very quiet. It looked on to the pool area. Breakfast was incredible and with the sound of tennis or paddle next door was very relaxing on the patio. Pool area even better than photos since it’s been upgraded. SPF cream and towels provided. Very cool water in pool, which was welcome in such warm weather in July. Being in an elevated position above Nice was incredible. Easy bus trip straight into town in a few short minutes, Close to the Matisse museum and easy trip to the airport.

Excellent hotel with friendly staff who are courteous and attentive to your needs. I visited with a friend for a cycling holiday and while this is not a cycling hotel, they provided a lot of assistance and passed on local knowledge to get us on the right track. A very enjoyable stay and I have no hesitation in recommending the hotel.

The hotel is on top of a hill, so might not be suitable for people with mobility issues.

Quiet location, nice walk downhill to Nice Walking back up can be challenging in the heat if you're not fit (Ubers available everywhere) except Monaco where they are banned! We had a Garden room on ground floor with small table and chairs outside No views to talk off from these rooms Air con was efficient, sound proofing could be better but what you'd expect from an older hotel We didn't use the pool, but it is very small and looked busy when we checked it out Breakfast was nice, pretty standard stuff but all good Phillipe on front desk was very friendly with helpful tips Overall I would stay again as I read the main strip hotels have poor noise control with proximity to the main road Note. August and I got bitten quite a bit by mosquitoes in and around the Nice area, so take bug spray

We didn’t book for the pool area, but having checked it out it was very small

Petit Palais is in a beautiful location, peaceful and a delight to stay here. Staff cannot do enough for you with a special mention to Phillipe who wowed us with his knowledge of the local area and history of Nice. A personal recommendation to the best seafood restaurant in the port with the most amazing delicious cuisine. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable, beautifully decorated with luxurious extras. The breakfast was another win with fresh quality produce and service always with a smile. We could not fault this hidden gem and will definitely return one day. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Beautiful hotel and rooms. Really lovely. Amazing views of Nice and delicious, quiet breakfast. The pool is teeny but we hopped in after a long hot day and it was perfect. The setting and neighborhood is amazing. It’s the only hotel outside Nice city center and you’re surrounded by gorgeous villas. The only downside is the walk in and out of the city because it’s very hilly. We walked to the beach and caught an Uber home some days to avoid the hike home. But it’s so quiet, a true retreat from the city bustle. Rooms are pretty small but beautiful.

Bed a tiny bit soft for me and the room is small but really beautiful.
