We parked nearby and found the hotel easily enough from the city side. Staff were very welcoming and although one of rooms we booked was not ready they were very accommodating. We were pleasantly surprised by how close the hotel was to the seafront, as we'd expected it to be slightly further away. It made it a perfect location to spend the night and discover Menton. Room was a generous size and it was comfortable, with all expected amenities. Breakfast was nice, with great choice and the option to sit outside in the morning sunshine. All in all it was a lovely stay.

The breakfast area gets very busy, so make sure you avoid peak times. The pigeon deterrent in the outside seating area is both noisy and ineffectual - the pigeons just don't notice it! It is a constant high-pitched whine, which is quite annoying.

Location is excellent! Front door opens to shopping and old town area, back door opens to restaurant and beach. Everything is within walking distance. We paid the extra forty euros for a room with a balcony (had one small table and two chairs) overlooking the beach, it was the best forty euros we spent on the trip!! We loved this hotel and town so much we ended up booking an extra night and cutting out an other area of our trip. The beach directly in front of hotel is rocky and just ok, but if you turn left and walk about 500 yards you’ll find the sweetest little beach of small, smooth pebbles and crystal clear water. This beach is in a cove and has no waves, perfect for families with littles. There’s a shop right by the beach where you can purchase any beach item you could possibly need.

Room and bathroom were small…but honestly we did not care, we were hardly ever in the room. Majority of the staff was great, but the woman who worked the front desk was always grumpy (maybe apathetic is the better word?). My husband started referring to her as Broom Hilda, (Bruinhilde) and if we needed anything we’d wait until her shift was over so we could talk to someone else.

Great location, definitely the best part about the hotel. Room was a good size with plenty of storage space etc, not too noisy despite being on a main street and bed was large and comfy (although it was two single beds pushed together). Breakfast was busy but had a good selection of most things you'd want and nice that you could sit outside to have it.

Air-conditioning wasn't amazing, even when left on for long periods of time and the room smelt a bit funny when you returned to it, almost like stale cigarettes.

The location is excellent. The cleaning was excellent - the lady cleaner was accommodating to our routine. The male reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The bar staff were very helpful and friendly.

The room was small, but we did manage ok. The breakfast was disorganised. We ate it twice, the second time was slightly better than the first. The female reception staff were not very friendly. The pigeons in the hotel gardens are a nuisance and a health hazard - they should use some pest control. It deters you from using the gardens which is a shame.

A wonderful hotel in a perfect location. A beautiful green oasis with a fabulous breakfast. It does not exude luxury, but the charm of an old beauty.

Cold, unapproachable and unorganized staff in the bar and restaurant. We stayed for two evenings and did not manage to make an appointment for dinner. The exception is the wonderful receptionist who welcomed us and the very friendly cleaners. If you don't speak French, you won't manage - not even a word of English exists anywhere. Not even in the menu. (only in English it is written to put away your plate after breakfast).

The location was excellent, right next to the beach. The room was big with a big bathroom as well. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again in the summer, but would probably splurge on a sea view room. The hotel is also pet friendly and we got to see a few dogs in the elevator, which was great.

The only thing is that I wish there was a bit more variety for breakfast, but overall it was not bad and had everything I needed.

We have ravelled extensively in Europe and thought the location of this hotel was the perfect choice for our week at this end of the French Riviera. We paid for a large “Privilege Double Room” on the sixth floor. It was almost 30m2 and had spectacular views over the Mediterranean. Always warm and comfortable and serviced daily by lovely staff. The rear door of the hotel opened into one of the main shopping/ restaurant streets, and a short walk along there brought us to the Old Town around the port, fabulous. The front door of the hotel opens onto wide lovely gardens land outdoor seating areas, and we enjoyed crossing the road to the beach and eating at the restaurants which line the promenade.

We enjoyed our peaceful breakfast in the south facing garden. The selection and quality of food for breakfast is very good, especially the wide variety of fruit available. Our bedroom and bathroom were attractive, clean , space for all our belongings, air conditioning that wasn’t too loud, the room was quiet, and we had everything we needed. The safe was easy to use. The staff were very nice. The beach is just across the road, and the historic centre close by, as are a quality set of shops supplying the needs of everybody.

The front reception staff was excellent - friendly and helpful. Our room was very spacious, with two small balconies overlooking the courtyard garden and the Promenade du Soleil waterfront street of cafes, and of course the beautiful Mediterranean Sea. We could see and hear the waves hitting the beach and it was wonderful. The location of the hotel is perfect with shops on one side and the lovely waterfront promenade on the other, and just minutes to the pedestrian only old town area. With an entrance on both sides, you couldn't find a more convenient or better location in Menton. Breakfast was great and served in a large sunny room with walls of windows, or you could sit outside. Our room had a large walk-in closet, separate toilet and shower area with a towel warmer that actually worked, large sofa and besides the two balconies (one with bistro table and chairs), an inside sitting area with two chairs. If you're renting a car, the garage is very close by - almost next door, always had spaces (in winter), and the hotel has a temporary parking area for you to unload your bags before parking. Great price for all the amenities. This is classified as a 3 star, but should be a 4 star. We loved everything about the hotel and will be back.

Nothing could have been better...

Having seen some negative reviews I was apprehensive about staying here but the hotel exceeded my expectations. The room was great and very clean and the views over the beach were amazing.

The hotel clearly doesn’t have any facilities during the winter season but that didn’t bother me because I wasn’t going to eat there anyway and instead chose to eat at other local restaurants or get small things from the supermarket across the road.
