Very friendly welcome from staff and customers alike. The pub was better than expected. I like the local pub feel in a quiet location. From communication before arrival to information on arrival I felt valued as a patron. Very reasonable breakfast and the burger and chips was juice fresh and tasty. 😋. I would recommend as a a good on route to local places I had a meeting in Kings Lynn and this marked a great not to far off my route stop. I'd like to come again and would recommend it.
Unfortunately I couldn't stay longer! I couldn't have another burger as kitchen was closed on Friday however a takeaway van sits in the car park and they had on offer a very nice sounding Yorkshire pud wrap with brisket. Having eaten lunchtime that was more than I needed but looked good.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Red Lion. All the staff were very friendly and we enjoyed 2 good evening meals there too. The pub is in a nice village between Ely and Cambrige , so it is conveniently located for visiting both.. Newmarket is close by as well The pub and accommodation were slightly dated, but that added to its charm as a village pub.. We had a twin room , everything worked, and the housekeeping daily was excellent. Would definitely stay there again if we were to go up that way in the future.

Lovely traditional village pub with friendly staff
Poor breakfast on offer and ridiculously cheap. Decent breakfasts cost £13 to put on properly and it’s not included in the stay so it’s a choice and so this hopefully changes.

The pub food was good and the beer was a good price, the beer garden was very good. The pub itself was as expected but the noise was minimal, there is a church bell but didn't wake us up thro the night, the most important part of any business is its staff and a huge shout out goes to Adelle who's people skills are excellent and not forgetting Carol the cleaner. All in all, we enjoyed our short 3 night stay and would stay again without hesitation.

The location was convenient for local atractions and the Full English breakfast was very good. The staff were friendly and welcoming and made us feel at home. We had a lovely stay and are looking forward to visiting again.
This is a minor point but the window latch was damaged making it difficult to open and leave on the latch to allow fresh air into the room on a hot day.

The staff were so friendly and welcoming and the facilities, although in no way lavish, were totally adequate, clean and homely. As a lover of Pale Ale, I very much enjoyed several pints of the Landlord by Timothy Taylor. In the bar. We had a meal which was basic but freshly prepared and reasonably priced. That a small and interesting church was just across the road completed the authenticity of the Red Lion as a genuine English village pub. I am very much looking forward to planning a stay next year, again as a mixture of work and pleasure , when I can experience more of the delights of Grunty Fen as well as Ely Cathedral and the Stretham Old Engine both of which I couldn't visit on my recent short stay.
The only niggle is that bedside lamps would have been appreciated.

our room was clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed and on the coldest weekend of the year, it was warm.
we were disappointed with the breakfast, as we could not have this before 10am. Also, my husband felt the 'full English breakfast' was meagre and they had no breakfast cereal. I enjoyed the scrambled egg on toast, but at £6.95 thought it a bit pricey. The pub bar and lounge could certainly do with a make over. The staff

Room with a view, and the shower most excellent. Clean and tidy. Good ale. Enjoyed sitting outside under cover. They like dogs too. The staff were friendly and most helpful. Plenty of waks to do, and a very pleasant area to explore.
There was no net curtains at the window for privacy, so the main curtains had to be drawn, which was a shame as it made the room dark. No breakfast available, due to shortage of staff. Could be noisy with customers in and out of the main doors....but hey it`s a pub, what do you expect?

It was in a perfect location for us on our way to Cambridge after visiting Ely. Nice big garden. Very peaceful and good home made food. Room was comfortable and we both slept well. Good breakfast and we would stay again if ever in the area

It was exactly what we were looking for. Clean, tidy, staff were kind and very helpful. The place was too hot due to the weather and there is no air conditioning but a good fan was supplied and the bar is well stocked. We also had breakfast which was very good and Harley our Collie cross Labrador was made a real fuss of. There are plenty of walks nearby too. I thoroughly recommend the Red Lion.
Nothing to complain about.
