The staff were friendly, helpful with the parking and the facilities were very nice. Well located and communication I had before arriving was prompt and thorough.

The place was clean except there was a dead cockroach in the bedroom area on the floor, something I find hard to not mention. They should accommodate international travelers better and have USB ports next to the bed (or desk area), something you find in most hotels today (even budget hotels). Also, it seems to be somewhat common in the UK, but many hotels do not have elevators, but 2-3 floors one needs to go up to get to your room. When traveling with wheely luggage and carpeted floors, they should offer the option of a ground floor room or wing with an elevator.

The big copper soaking tub was just fabulous. Plus there was a full bath with a walk in shower in addition to the soaking tub. One gentleman that checked us in (sorry I don't remember his name) was just the very best, most accommodating and helpful human. I had messaged that we were running later than expected because of the train service and asked if there were somewhere we could get just a bowl of soup and some bread. He told us he would take care of us whenever we arrive. And, he did! We were caught in the rain before we caught there and the soup was exactly what was needed. Altogether wonderful experience all round,

IDK what they could have possibly done better. Everything was lovely. Even air conditioning! And an elevator. Outstanding for a small, locally owned hotel.

Absolutely everything. It felt expensive at the time of booking, but then felt like good value once we were there. The staff were great, the rooms were great (we were in 7, 9 and 14, all beautiful) and although we didn't eat there we had superb cocktails in the glamourous lounge bar and a very nice breakfast the following morning

The overhead lights in the bedrooms were incredibly bright and the table lamps quite dim so it was hard to get a nice light in the rooms. But that is a tiny niggle just for the sake of filling in this box.

The view from our room was wonderful! Some of the staff were excellent. I very much enjoyed a ham and cheese panini with a glass of wine in the garden. Our room was comfortable and the bath was great!

I was delighted when I heard I could charge my car but horrified when I was given a bill for £54 having done so: it would have cost less than £10 using our charger at home. Some of the food was expensive and not very imaginative: I have never seen such a dull looking Caesar salad. I felt a couple of the staff were more interested in younger, more obviously well off glamorous people but most of their colleagues were charming and very attentive and helpful

Unexpected upgrade to very spacious room. Very well appointed. Very good sleep quality. The food was very good without being "over the top" or pretentious. Service was friendly and efficient. Thee location was ideal because the main focus of our visit was the Cathedral.............three minutes walk.

Although the AC was quiet and effective, there was no way we could open a window for fresh air. The bedroom was up two flights of steep stairs , no lift........BUT.....we were told in advance and given the option to change, ,so that was our choice (and worth the effort) The off-site free parking was easy to find but quite a walk iin the rain.

Enormous room and the bath was amazing. Nice touches like the bottles of water and crisps. Biscuits and hot chocolate sachets in the room. Nice big towels and bathrobes. Excellent location. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a nice dinner in the restaurant. Good toiletries.

Could move to dispensers instead of multiple small bottles of toiletries. Some of the decor felt very slightly tired.

A boutique hotel close to the cathedral. Quiet and relaxing. Staff helpful and welcoming. Luxury interior, our room had a huge copper bath in a large bathroom which also had a arge shower. Parking is tight with space for two disabled drivers and one space for drop off, reception provide instructions and a map for free parking in designated area in nearby car park.

We love staying at the Poets House. We now stay there every time we come to Ely to visit our family. The staff are friendly and helpful. The Restaurant staff are brilliant - attentive to every need whilst not being obtrusive - and the food served in the Restaurant (we can heartily recommend the Lamb Tagine) is excellent..

There is nothing we dislike = We like everything about the Poets House.= its staff, the family rooms we always stay in, its food, its facilities, its location.

We were shown to our room by a member of staff. Very helpful staff at reception, restaurant, bar. Everywhere! All looked us in the eye and smiled as we passed each other. Copper bath was very comfortable and easy to get in and out of. Perfectly cooked salmon in pastry and poached eggs

Ramp in bedroom passageway Saying farewell to the staff and going home!

Loved the copper bath tub in the room and how big and spacious the room was. Also the bathroom was lovely with a massive walk in shower. We stayed for our anniversary with some added extras which we really loved . The location is very good , a short walk down the road to some great pubs. Plus Oliver Cromwells house is right across the road you can visit.

Nothing in particular I did not like.
