The room was beautifully presented. I booked a single room for one night. Very comfortable single bed, and plenty of coffee and tea including a Nespresso machine. A lovely breakfast and a perfect location.

Be aware, that if you book a single room your private bathroom is not in the room, but across the corridor. I don’t think that was made clear when booking. It’s a private bathroom, and very lovely, and they do give you a fluffy bathrobe, so you don’t have to walk from the bathroom to your room in a towel after your shower, but for me that was a negative.

Room and bathroom were small but comfortable. Recently renovated so rooms are a lot nicer than the pictures on Booking.com. Beautifully decorated, heated floor in bathroom. Lots of nice little extras - Nespresso machine with capsules in the bedroom, bottles of water. Lots of nice clean fluffy towels. Very comfortable bed with fluffy pillows and duvet. Air conditioning available. Tv in the room. Little wardrobe to hang clothes with a small safe. Breakfast had simple cooked options of sausages, egg, bacon and tomato then bread/pastries, mini fruit salads, yoghurts and cereals. Self service but also someone serving proper barista style coffee and tea in nice big teapots. Lovely decor in the breakfast room and chilled music playing. All very nice.

Parking was difficult.

A great place to stay for a few nights for nice get away. Our room faced the canal and we were able to order drinks at the restaurant next door and enjoy them from the comfort of our room with a great view of the canal and boats. The bed was very comfortable, the shower worked great. I liked the two high-back chairs. The breakfast was exceptional. Traditional fair, but done nicely. The breakfast space was very comfortable. We love Ely and this place is right on the water with an easy pedestrian walk to the cathedral and High Street and easy walk to the train station. Definitely would stay again.

Not much to complain about. The price was a bit high I thought. Recommend getting to breakfast on the earlier side to ensure a full selection (e.g., the fruit ran out one morning when we arrived at 8:30 am).

This is the second time we have stayed here, the first being when I had my Open University graduation ceremony at Ely cathedral a couple of years ago and we said at the time how we’d like to return to Ely and have a proper look at the cathedral etc so we decided to go for our wedding anniversary this May and we wanted to stay at Riverside Inn again because it was so lovely last time. It really is a beautiful guest house, very clean and the decor is well thought out. The room has a kettle and a coffee pod machine (with pods supplied), lovely comfortable bed. The beautifully decorated large bathroom has underfloor heating which is incredible, hairdryer, all toiletries; basically everything you need. The breakfast is freshly prepared and there are sausages (that were a little pale for me), bacon, scrambled eggs, cereals, breads etc so you can fill yourself for the day. The location is great, right beside the river where ducks, swans, geese and many other wildfowl swim around with barges chugging past, it really is incredibly relaxing and opposite a very nice pub. I absolutely recommend this guest house as a base to explore Ely and spend a relaxing hour or so sipping a drink beside the river!

There is nothing wrong with the property at all

The room was clean and comfortable and the house itself is situated right on the river bank giving excellent views of the river. The breakfast was excellent with cooked food, croissants, toast and all the trimmings available. The only complaint is that the television control did not work the television but that wasn't really a problem as the television had controls located on the television itself. Unfortunately Ely itself didn't have much to offer as far as tourist attractions are concerned (apart from the Cathedral and Oliver Cromwell's House) but walks along the river were enjoyable. Eating places tended to be along the riverside but quite expensive. The town closed down at night leaving just a few restaurants and pubs where one could find food.

For the first time ever, we booked the room that featured in the publicity and all I can say is that it was superb. The room and bathroom were larger than usual and the view looking up the river was truly splendid. Within the room, the furnishing were lovely and in excellent condition and the bathroom had a range of good toiletries rather than the bulk buy type which are becoming more common. There were teas, coffees etc, biscuits and two bottles of water. The shower was powerful, hot water plentiful. Breakfast was basically continental but with grilled sausages, bacon, tomatoes and scrambled egg also available. Individual bowls of FRESH fruit salad, a couple of types of cereal and GF cornflakes, croissants, toast. Jam, marmalade, cheeses.

About the only thing that I would say would be that a grab rail on the wall in the shower would be nice. Those of us getting a bit wobbly on our legs might find it handy.

Very nice room, spotlessly clean and stylishly decorated. The bed was very comfortable and our room even had air conditioning. Large sized bathroom with bathtub and shower.

There was no plug for the bathroom basin and the bath plug did not seal the plug hole properly allowing water to escape while bathing. The location is very pretty by the river but it is a bit of a hike into the centre of Ely. However the local taxis are relatively cheap ( around £6 into Ely centre ) and easy to book.

Excellent location by the river with a restaurant and pub on either side. Décor in room was very nice; all good condition etc. Room comfortable, nice bathroom, all modern facilities. Good breakfast and this is the only time you meet any staff.

Car parking is quoted as free but this is just public on the street parking. All parking in Ely appears to be free so not really a feature worth mentioning. The spaces were full most of our stay. You really have to pay for the reserved spaces in the car park - should either say parking available at extra charge or this should just be included in the price.

Amazing location on the riverside and not too far from the town. Lovely big room with views over the river. Superb luxury bathroom with under floor heating and I would love to know what laundry products were used on the towels and sheets. They smelled gorgeous. Entry to the Inn is by code to unlock the front door so no staff around except for breakfast. The breakfast room was very clean with a choice of cereals yoghurts pastries and sausage scrambled eggs streaky bacon and tomatoes and fresh fruit salad.

The room had to be vacated by 10am. Breakfast was cleared away by 9.30am. Would have liked more milk pots as only 5 were provided which was a bit unfair for 2 people.

Room 3 was lovely spacious very cosy - room was warm - bed was comfy - pillows great - tea & coffee facilities good - toiletries good - great shower We only stayed overnight The location for us was great - 10 minutes to start of high street - 15 minutes to cathedral Breakfast was ok - we did read reviews and we agree the sausages were anaemic but adequate breakfast It would be nice if you could check in earlier and check out a bit later - most hotels/guest houses we have stayed in are check in 2pm check out 11am
