The Belvedere is in a wonderful location. If you like to go to Broadway shows, many are only a block or two away. It's within walking distance of Central Park, etc. The staff was responsive to all of my requests. They also let me check in a couple of hours early, which I appreciated. The picture is the view from my 16th floor window.

In the standard rooms, you cannot control the heating yourself. It is an old hotel with radiators. I opened the windows a couple of times. There is a little kitchenette area but it doesn't have utensils or ceramic mugs. If you plan to bring food for breakfast, for instance, bring whatever you need to serve it in.

No breakfast or cafe was disappointing

No restaurant- so to even get a cup of coffee was a trip out of the hotel. Even though there were microwave facilities, there were no cups in the room

Use of room and/or rug fresheners would be helpful and appreciated to offer a better scent in the room. Also a better quality of bed linens would be nice.

The location was ideal walking distance to many of the city's attractions. The bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly.

We were 3 guests. When our room was cleaned on 2 of the days, only 2 towels were left instead of 3. Also, when something was dropped behind the desk and we had to move the desk out to retrieve it, we found garbage left from prior guests.

Very clean, large rooms, good and friendly service.

The rooms are aged and this has a couple of downsides - in our room the curtains were hardly working (and hardly curtains) and air conditioning is a real weak spot - very loud box fitted into the window itself, which I can imagine in the Summer can make sleeping a challenge when you can't turn it off.

The air conditioner needed repairs The bathroom door did not hooks to hang clothes and robes . A couple of days no garbage bags There were no paper cups in the kitchen.area. Coffee, not so good . Tea selection. Limited

It was our second time here. I love location, it is extremely close to any subway line. A small kitchenette and morning coffee were good. Rooms are quiet and spacious compared to the other hotels. The staff were welcoming, they helped us to have extra blankets pretty fast.

No coffee machine/pot in the room. I hope the regular breakfast will be back one day

Checking in was a little strange. We ended up early from our flight so we inquired about checking in early. We were told to keep checking back in to see if a room was ready. We sat right in front of the staff on the sofas waiting. An hour later a group of people walked on, said they were really hot and needed to check in early- they were immediately given a room. Then another group, and another, and another. Finally I just said- Hey- we have been waiting an hour patiently while 4 groups of people just walked in and were given a room. She handed me a key and said nothing. It was just no right- there was something drastically different about us than the other people who checked in—- I leave it at that. I wouldn’t stay again because I’m not sure if we were actual welcome there.

We stayed at the hotel for 9 nights. We had read in other reviews that the elevator was broken but this worked perfectly for us. There were four elevators that worked well! Perfect with an ice machine on the ground floor that you were given a plastic bag to pick up and then put in the ice storage in the refrigerator. Always nice and helpful staff. The cleaning was perfect and the cleaners called if we had the do not disturb sign on the door and asked if we wanted cleaning. We never had time to drink coffee but we bought this elsewhere. Also recommend the Mexican restaurant Sombrero which is located on the street. Really good drinks and wonderful staff. The beds were comfortable, however you can hear a lot from the street and the air conditioning is loud. Bring earplugs ;-) The location is fantastic, 5 minutes to Time Square We couldn't be happier!!!

My daughter and I spent a week here to see several shows and enjoy sightseeing, food and fun. All of the staff were so kind and helpful! The location is great - within walking distance to all of the theaters! We felt very safe walking at night in the area and were always greeted with friendly staff at the door and they were very helpful with directions :) Our room was cleaned daily and was done so with great detail:) This hotel is a great value and was perfect for our stay. Would definitely stay here again !

The only thing I wished it had was a restaurant that served breakfast or maybe some additional items offered with coffee in the morning. And one little thing - the soap/shampoos etc were really nice quality but very difficult to use the dispensers.
