We loved this property, it was clean, cosy, the perfect location and the beds were like CLOUDS. The view from the window on the third floor was absolutely beautiful. The host is an angel and extremely accommodating - she helped us organise our large suitcases to be delivered to Tokyo through Yamato Transport FROM the accommodation. The in-house onsen is a daily luxury and the perfect way to end a big day snowboarding. They also have a washing machine and dry room for all your clothes and snowboarding gear - laundry detergent supplied

Wonderful family-run lodging just a few minutes walk from the Chuo Bus Terminal, Nagasaka Gondola, and Yu Road! Stayed 5 nights in a loft room on the third floor, which was simple but spacious. There are shared sinks, toilets, and a fridge on each floor, as well as a communal bath on the main level. The shared facilities are always clean and not too busy. Breakfast is served on request and both Japanese/Western options were delicious! Kaori-san also gave lots of recommendations for places to eat and onsen to visit in the village.

Loved this place ! Will be back here if I come back to Nozawa. My room and bedding was lovely. Excellent service and really nice owner. Perfect location only 7 minutes away from the gondola and 1 minute away from the main street and best coffee shop in town. Advice for the hotel: Adding Yukatas and comfy slippers in the rooms would add a great touch.

Important to note : « Shared showers » are in the same room as the on-site Onsen. You do not get a private shower stall and many guests can share the room at once.

Friendly, hard-working staff. Helped me ship my skis, took care of them when I sent them over. Really enjoyed the tatami room. On site onsen, small but comparable in size to many public onsen.

Nothing. It wasn’t cheap but the price was fair given the experience. When going to Nozawa Onsen in general expect a ryokan experience. The only showers are in the onsen in bathrooms which, while outstandingly clean and sufficiently numerous, are shared

We stayed at Utopia while going snowboarding. It was the perfect place! Warm and cozy, staff was amazing and super close to the city center. The walk to the mountain was very short. I'd highly recommend this hotel for a fairly budget friendly cozy space to stay. Sadly we didn't get to try the breakfast given our times there but it looked yummy. The front bar was also super cute although we never had a drink there.

We enjoyed everything about our stay but only call out is the bathroom is shared. It's really not a big deal, I didn't mind and never felt awkward. Just something to be aware of when booking.

We loved our comfortable room which was large and spacious, with good hanging spaces as well as a strong heater in the room to dry out our clothes. There was an excellent check-in and check-out process which enabled us to enjoy 2 half days on the snow prior to check-in and after check-out. The location of this hotel was optimal as it was close to both the ski lifts as well as the main part of town where all the restaurants and shops are. Loved the cozy facilities like the communal fireplace, bar and in-house onsen. There was also excellent dry room for drying all our gear. 10/10 stay, would come back for sure.

A very minor feedback: japanese breakfast was only offered on alternate days, it was delicious and would have liked to have japanese breakfast everyday.

Stayed in a beautiful and spacious traditional style room. Beds were comfortable and shared bathing facilities were great all around. Lots of Onsens around and a good ski room for storing equipment. You get a nice discount on the delicious waffles next door if you want to have breakfast out.

Staff’s English is limited but they are very friendly and helpful. So it didn’t really matter.

Great location near to shops and a short walk to the Nagasaka Gondola and ski rentals. Room was very comfortable and shared toilets and baths were very clean. Extra charge for breakfast, alternating between Japanese and American daily. We tried the Japanese breakfast and it was delicious. Cozy lobby with fireplace and a small bar. Public onsen just across the road, very convenient to just pop over for a hot bath. Accomodation provides basket for soap and shampoo, onsen towel and slippers.

The room was way better than we were expecting, and just generally everything from start to finish was so well managed by the staff. Great explanations, allowed us to leave bags slightly early as we arrived before 3pm, and generally speaking everything was super clean and well set up. The vibe in the lobby area was also really nice and we were kinda fascinated by the beautiful fish tank they have there, lol. Honestly we didn’t expect it to be as nice as this from the photos

Convenient location to township with shops and restaurants and short scenic walk to gondola’s and ski lifts. Comfortable warm beds and good facilities. The Japanese breakfast was exceptional as well. There is a traditional onsen 1minute walk away. Friendly helpful staff with good English 😊 we will stay next time for sure 👍🏼
