My wife and I stayed here on our first two nights in Puerto Rico. We enjoyed the pool, bar (great drinks & great prices), and the food (breakfast and dinner). We went out to eat at some of the surrounding restaurants, and enjoyed a walk at the Punta Tuna Lighthouse, otherwise we spent most of our time beachside at the hotel.

We were hoping to do some swimming off the beach, but once we arrived we noticed no one else was swimming and the current seemed pretty strong. After talking to the staff they said the water was dangerous. Otherwise, beautiful beach for walking.

Very friendly, helpful staff. Beautiful swimming pool. Restaurant and bar near pool were very nice. Overall a good location and nice place to use a s a base to explore south/southeastern Puerto Rico.

The beach was covered in seaweed and unusable. Obviously no fault of the staff or ownership, but it did prevent guests from using the beach.

Perfect locations for someone with a vehicle. Quiet, friendly, low key. No crazy artificial "fun" place, nice for families, elderly people, couples that do not seek entertainment. While we did not use it, the hotel has a beautiful pool. The apartments are like individual habanas with all basic necessities. Decent reastaurants in walking distance.

Breakfast was comparatively monotonous. In-house restaurant options limited. Staff could be more attentive. Somewhat odd: No daily room service, no cleaning out of garbage in the apartment during the entire stay.

Loved our room, a bungalow with terrace and chairs looking towards the sea. Good restaurant, breakfast and evening meals, especially breaded prawns in coconut sauce! We also ate at restaurant across the road which we enjoyed too. The pool was wonderful with great sunbeds. Sound of the waves splashing onto the shore! From the hotel there is an amazing nature walk adjacent to the shore leading up to the lighthouse, where there are great views in both direction. Very few people seem to find this!

The WiFi was sometimes good but only available near reception and when a lot of people were gathered there the signal was weak.

Beautiful quiet place directly at the beach, we loved the sound of the sea and nice view especially in the morning at the sunrise. The beach is perfect for walking and also swimming is possible, just the waves were sometimes too high (not suitable for children). There is interesting short trail start and small info center about Turtles nesting on the beach next to the place. Great pool. Breakfasts were good despite not many options available.

There could be some vegetables and fruits available for breakfast.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Parador MaunaCaribe. It's a simple, old school, family kind of place on the beach in sleepy Maunabo. The room was clean, the grounds well tended and the staff were pleasant. For those seeking the excitement of a picture perfect luxury resort this is not your place. However, given what one can expect to pay for a big chain or boutique hotel this Parador has a lot to offer at less than half the price. (The room cost $150 w/breakfast and a poolside beer was $2.25, You can't do much better than that for oceanfront Puerto Rico.)

-The beach in front of the hotel may not be a good choice for swimming. Use caution! It may be different at other times of year but during my January stay the prevailing westerly winds made the water very rough if not treacherous. That said, you can still sunbath, the kids can play in the sand and for the most part you'll have a mile long stretch of undeveloped beach all to yourself. The hotel does have a large infinity pool overlooking the beach for those who want to swim. I was also told by the hotel staff there are safer more swimmable beaches a short drive away. -Finally, my room on the edge of the property did not have reliable internet.

Hotel and amenities a little bit older, but well maintained and clean. The room itself is basic but spacious and has everything you need - also very clean. For this price you definitely get a great stay, with infinity pool, ocean view (you can hear the waves through the door at night) and simple breakfast included. A very good restaurant is in walking distance (Agua Viva), but there is also a bar and restaurant at the hotel- you can enjoy a drink by the pool until late. We stayed one night on the way from San Juan to Ponce and would come back, for that it was perfect

We did not have warm water in the shower, but considering the hot temperatures outside it was okay- just something to be aware of if you are not used to cold showers (and maybe there was just an issue while we were there)

This is a great property with a private beach and nice grounds. You can take a small stroll around the property or the beach (which is dirty due to the algae bloom) . The infinity pool is defnly an attraction for this property. The restaurant is tropical themed and good size. The included breakfast is made to order and served hot unlike self serve in some 3 star hotels. Wait staff are nice and most of them are bilingual. Remember, its not a resort. If you go with right expectations, you will be happy.

Beach was not usable due to erosion and washed up algae. Washer didnt work but that wasnt a big deal. They could provide beach/pool towels. We have to use the room towels. Just outside the property there is a bar and it was dirty and trash strewn around.

This hotel is located right on the beautiful beach. It has a nice infinity pool. Rooms are located in bungalow stile constructions, they are very ample and with fridge and coffee maker. There is plenty of free parking in the premises. Included breakfast was very simple (see image). Restaurant staff was friendly.

WiFi was down the day we stayed.

This was our fifth trip to Puerto Rico to see family and we always stay at Parador Maunacaribe. Our last trip was 4 years ago, prior to COVID and we were excited to return this year. We again stayed at the hotel and it was as always, an excellent experience. Staff is attentive and friendly and professional. Clean room. Quiet and peaceful. Food is very good! We LOVE it here!

The beach is eroding and its not as easy to get to the beach anymore... It would be nice to have an area where you can get onto the beach easier where its not so high. Some of the lounge chairs straps were broken on the limited seating by the pool, would like to see that fixed so there is more comfortable seating. Very minor things!
