This small hostel is on one of the side streets that leads to the plaza. So you don't get the direct noise from the plaza but you're right there! It's also a 5-minute drive from the famous Luquillo restaurant row. The king room was very comfortable. All of the details were right on point! The coffee bar/convenience area was such a pleasure. Aside from offering a working fridge, microwave and coffee maker, they also have a couple of mugs and ... wine glasses with a wine bottle opener! The details let you know there was a lot of love poured into the concept of this room. From the decor to door stoppers, TV, hair dryer, turtles on the duvet. Right in the room there are beach chairs and umbrellas. The beach is a 3-minute walk! Also nearby are restaurants, bars and a cool, open-air area with a small stage with live music right on the beach boulevard. We got a chance to glance quickly at the room with the bunk beds and it looked very clean and roomy. Don't forget to have breakfast on the rooftop! You get a small view of the beach, and the wood bunks are just calm. There are rooms up there, as well.

Clean, modern room (room 2), quick walk to the beach and restaraunts. Nice little touches like complimentary beach chairs, hair dryer, coffee, water. Super easy check in and out.

The shower is super pretty and nice fixtures BUT the shower pressure goes away after 2 minutes, shower temp turns cold randomly and stays cold unless you mess with it a bit and the shower has no means to keep water going towards the drain, water will be all over the bathroom and pool behind the toilet. The street noise is insane (we stayed Sunday to Monday) so I wouldn’t recommend if you’re a light sleeper, have kids or need any type of quietness to sleep (the complimentary earplugs did not help BUT it was very nice of them to provide them anyways. They can’t control street noise)

The hotel itself is fine. It's not posh or luxurious, but it is clean and reasonably comfortable. It's in walking distance of some tasty restaurants and the beach. It's not a resort beach with pristine sand, but I am a nature lover, so it was fine for me. Management tries to be as accommodating as he can, and the things I did not like are not his fault.

The noise outside was ridiculous. People felt the need to screech and zoom by in their souped-up cars, blasting their music until well after 3am. We were in the room closest to the street, so that might have exacerbated it. The manager DID offer to move us for the rest of our stay, but we decided to move on.

Excellent Customer service. Lovely building and decor. Sadly, an abandoned home with trash is next door. Still, the actual accommodations are lovely. Comfy beds, great location to restaurants, beach, etc. Very loud area but hey...that's PR! The noise couldn't be controlled by Surfing Turtle. I'd definitely plan to stay again!

I think everything at the Surfing Turtle eas great. I didn't like the trash at the abandoned house next door. I really enjoyed everything else. One thing...the beach chairs probably should be trashed...ours were no longer useful.

The location was amazing and very accessible to the beach and the surrounding restaurants were delicious, the room was beautiful and updated and very comfortable, and they had beach chairs, an umbrella, and beach towels! not a lot of tourists around so it was very calm, the pina colada stand on Playa Pared was the best we had on the island, there was a friendly little cat hanging out we could pet

the water temp in the shower was hard to control, the street parking was a tiny bit challenging

The location is great for the beach. The room has everything you need and more... beach chairs, umbrella, a yoga mat was great! The patio with the view on Ocean is great!

The AC directly sending air on the bed. The Saturday night party in town(I understood that night why there were ear plugs in the room!) No convenience store close or grocery.

I had a great stay here! The room was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The location is excellent — very close to the city center and the beach. Check-in was smooth, and the host was friendly. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area, and I’d be happy to come back!

Location, decor, rooftop lounge all wonderful. Great restaurants in walking distance. The behavior of the locals with the loud/blaring music and racing up & down the streets to the early morning we could have done without that so thank you for the ear plugs. Beach chairs and umbrella really enhanced our visit to the beach!

The room was spacious and very comfortable! It has air conditioning, the shower is warm and everything was clean. There are a few restaurants across the street which is very convenient. Overall a good place to stay!

Luquillo is a bit far from the marinas and the most famous beaches in Fajardo, so you should have a car or be prepared to pay a lot in Ubers. Also, there was no cleaning service or clean towels during all the time we were there.

Very clean, cute room right near the beach (5 minute walk). Def more of a surfing beach than a swimming beach. The beds were sooooo soft and the duvets were bliss. Location was within 20 min of Fajardo and El Yunque. Short drive to the kiosks and other Luquillo beaches. Very sleepy little village area, but the few restaurants around were all great. Highly recommend Simple Food. The host was prompt at fixing a few issues caused by the whole-town power outage the day before we arrived. Loved the hammock chairs on the roof, great place to relax with a book in the evenings. The beach robes were a nice touch. Local stray kitty made our stay. My youngest got an awesome haircut at the barber's next door.

No closet area to hang clothes. No iron. You need to live out of your suitcase with wrinkles, but it's vacation and no one really cares! The one rooster next door decided that 4:30am was a great time to wake up. Whole town is full of wandering chickens, so you're going to get that no matter where you stay unless you're up in one of the high rise hotels, which isn't our scene.
