The lobby and common area is excellent and very inviting, it smells nice, the elevators, hallways and rooms are clean, very clean. The bed and pillows are super comfortable.

The chromecast device I could not get to work. The same issue occurs at other Alt hotels. Other hotels that I have stayed at have Googlecast, which works splendidly. There are two of us in a room and 3 coffee pods, it was easy to get a 4th, but why not have an even number of pods? Lastly there is a grab bar behind the toilet that makes it so the toilet seat will not stay up om its own, so I have to hold it up while I pee. The grab bar should have been installed 1cm higher.

A totally enjoyable and centrally-located downtown hotel. Modern "industrial" vibe, stylish furnishings, pool table, lounge and work spaces and a caffe/bar. Spacious room with queen-size bed, comfy mattress/duvet/pillows, sitting area, ample lighting, closet with hangers, desk, large TV, coffee-maker, small fridge, large bathroom with nice towels and toiletries. Super-friendly and helpful reception and staff members.

Not a huge issue, but if you are a light sleeper and your room (on a higher floor) faces a rooftop with HVAC system, please note that there is a continuous hum. While not terribly loud, the sound is always in the background. I don't know if lower floors are also affected by this sound.

The property was in a great location. We were lucky and got packing at the lot very close by. I love how modern looking it was. It was very clean. The beds were very comfy.

The hotel itself was clean and well-located, but the bathroom setup was a major disappointment. There was a window in the shower that opened directly into the room, and the bathroom door didn’t close properly — it didn’t latch or provide any real privacy. This design might work for a solo traveler, but for anyone else, especially those who value even a basic level of privacy, it’s a dealbreaker. It’s baffling that such an important detail was overlooked. Would not recommend for couples, friends, or families.

The hotel was very accomodating to requests (ie. late checkout). The room was nice and I really enjoyed having the Nespresso machine in the room.

We had asked for late checkout but our keys were disabled regardless. The keys were reactivated with no issue which was nice. However, I had to make two trips to bring out our belongings and the keys were disabled a second time even though it was still before the late checkout time. I had to wait in line of people checking out to have the keys reactivated a second time. I found that to be very inconvenient.

The reception area and cafe were great and my daughter particularly enjoyed playing pool and relaxing inside when it was super hot out or raining. The staff were lovely. Very convenient location. Be sure to check out the binder at reception with restaurant suggestions etc.

An in-room safe, interior chain to lock door from inside, and individually controlled lights (when my daughter went to bed before I did, we either had to have all the lights on or all the lights off) would increase the comfort.

Very clean hotel, friendly staff and a very cute, fun atmosphere. (Each floor has their own colour theme). Location is close to the subway station and bus stops. 15 minutes walk from the parliament building which is great.

I’ve seen some reviews about the room size. To be honest it was good enough for me (I was by myself so I think I liked it, it wasn’t that small). But it might be different for two people. Also there wasn’t a garbage bag for the garbage in the washroom, I felt bad throwing garbage in it without a bag but I didn’t have one either so that was a bit odd. Other than that I think everything was very nice! Didn’t get a chance to check out the lil bar downstairs, but it looks very nice. I’m sure I’ll be back soon!

Everything!! Adored this hotel in Ottawa. From the musical ambience at the entrance to the comfort of our room. In summary: - Excellent location in the heart of downtown. - Public transport access (metro & bus) around the corner from the hotel. - The hotel offers a restaurant (food for purchase), a bar and a café on site. Street restaurants, cafés, grocery shops, and pharmacy at walking distance from the hotel. - Smiley and helpful staff. - Room (Queen room): Mattress, bed linen, and pillows were incredibly comfortable and delicious. Nespresso machine with complementary pods replenished daily. Tea, sugar, and coffee mate pods too. Bella Pella high quality products (hand liquid soap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and hydrating body milk!) are a smart and great touch to the room. Hair dryer, flat screen smart TV, alarm clock. - Ensuite bathroom: clean and comfortable shower, WC, and sink. Efficient water system providing hot water in 2 seconds - another super plus! Alt Hotel Ottawa has a small and well equipped gym, ice machines (levels 7 & 12), complementary computers with Internet access, and beautiful lounge area in the lobby.

Quiet & clean room. Great location for day tripping. Wonderful friendly staff. Liked the refillable options for shampoo etc. Great vibe with modern fixtures and high ceilings!

The lights in bathroom should be brighter & the mirror was too high for me to use. Didn’t know until arriving that parking was offsite and an extra expense. This may have been our fault for not inquiring. Found it hard to regulate the temperature in room.

I loved the hotel! “Le Germain” is such a solid brand, and it shows. I loved the “modern urban” feel, the spotless room, the comfy bed, the superb customer service, and the classy yet easy vibe! I’ll be back.

The only (minor) improvement - the room was too hot for my liking (21c), and the only way I could keep it at my comfortable 17c is through running the cool air, which was not ideal as it makes a bit of noise. Would have loved a proper thermostat.
