The hotel in general and our room were both very clean and comfortable. The hotel staff were super helpful and friendly, especially the lovely lady who helped with the breakfasts downstairs. The staff on Reception were always very helpful also in every situation. We found the food there to be varied and very tasty, as well as very reasonably priced. The location is excellent if you want to explore the city as it is close to many of the local attractions and only 100 yards from the nearest tram stop. The rooms were soundproofed and we were able to sleep without interruptions from other guests or outside noise. We couldn’t recommend this hotel more highly, it was excellent.
No negative issues at all.

This is a very good hotel in Zaragoza, centrally located in a beautiful historical building. The room (a double) was adequate in size, well equipped: minibar, electric kettle + coffee and tea bags, a nice assortment of glasses, large wardrobe, safe, very large TV. The furnishings, although showing a little bit of ageing, were classic which I liked. The lighting in room was very good, which is rare nowadays. There was a small balcony overlooking the towers of the cathedral, a very nice touch. My room was on the 4th floor, so I was not bothered by the early morning activities in the street below. You may like to ask for a room on a higher floor to avoid the street noise. The bed was large, but the bedding was not to my liking - too slippery, a touch too "plastic". The bathroom was large, with bathtub and bidet. There was a daily cleaning service but it can be of higher standards. Staff was polite and mostly helpful. The breakfast was superb for a 4* hotel, except the coffee from the coffee machines which was really very poor.
At breakfast the coffee from the coffee machines was really very poor, which was really surprising given the breakfast was very good for a 4* hotel.

Absolutely outstanding stay! We booked 3 rooms for my family we were 5 in total and everything exceeded our expectations. The rooms were spotlessly clean, very comfortable, and beautifully maintained. The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the old town, just steps away from the Basilica — ideal for exploring the city on foot. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the thoughtful surprise for my father’s 80th birthday. The hotel decorated his room with celebration details that made the moment even more special for our family. We are sincerely grateful for this kind gesture. Highly recommend Catalonia El Pilar — we would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is located on a small plaza, with a beautiful church and fountain right out front. We had a 5th floor "attic" room, which was huge, with large bathroom that included both a jacuzzi bathtub and a separate, large shower. King size bed, separate little sitting area with comfortable chairs, and a walk in closet with lots of hanging space, drawers, and shelves. Also included an iron and ironing board, coffee and tea making facilities, bathrobes and slippers. Basically everything you could need. Very convenient walking location to most sites.

The hotel is in an excellent location. A five minute walk to the main centre or the river, yet in a quiet location. The room was spacious enough and the bathroom was very spacious. The staff were very helpful and breakfast was fine. We had a dog with us and they had put a dog bed and food bowls in the room, which was a nice touch.
I had forgotten it did not have on site parking, and I had to ring for directions to the public carpark where the hotel had an arrangement for a discount. The receptionist was very helpful but it would have been useful to have more details of the carpark given to me on booking. The weather was very bad when we first arrived with a terrific wind and rain. We therefore did not want to go out to eat. Instead we had room service, and to be honest is was awful. A microwaved lasagne with no salad or vegetables. And a desert that was still frozen. Best to avoid!

The hotel is ideally located in the centre of the old town of Zaragoza. We were only there for one night and we had booked an attic room - which was huge! As we were there for only the night it was ideal - very comfortable and spacious. However, I think for more than a couple of nights I would miss having a view. (There are windows in the roof that open and so you get light and air (and if you stand on a chair, a view - see photo!). In some other reviews, I have seen niggles about it looking a bit tired and things need repairing in the room - I have to say for what we paid, we thought it was absolutely fine and quite luxurious actually. Breakfast is served as a buffet and it was good - there was a reasonable choice of hot/cold food of varying types, so again we were happy with that. As there are roadworks being done outside the hotel (redoing the old street), we pre-booked our parking at the Indigo El Pilar car park - it was easy via the app and only a short walk away. If you do it on the app, it’s about the same price as you get through the hotel but at least it’s reserved. All-in-all a very nice stay and we loved Zaragoza. (The only reason it didn’t get a 10 was the rather unwelcoming staff on reception when we arrived - however the next morning there was someone else, who was much more friendly!)
Nothing - just be aware there are roadworks going on which may be a bit noisy - although we weren’t affected as we were in an attic room.

Lovely hotel room (had the loft at the top floor) with ample room to enjoy. I wish I had some friends there to utilize the living room for a glass of wine. The bathroom has two sinks and there is a walk-in closet if you plan to hold a debutante ball and need the space. You will be very happy with the space. Zaragoza gets hot in the afternoon and also mostly shuts down. I suggest going back to the hotel and getting a drink in the hotel lobby bar (just ask the front desk if no one is there, they will be happy to assist).

Wonderful location in the old town of Zaragoza. Paid parking is available nearby (they offer a discount for multiple days). The room was large, clean, quiet, and comfortable. We appreciated the instant coffee supplied. Staff are friendly and helpful. We have stayed here before and will stay again.
The hotel was battling a sewer smell during our stay (it was strongest near the elevator). We are hoping this was a unusual event and not something to expect in the future.

The hotel is a in a great lcoation, minutes walk from the Pillar Catherdral, from the Ebro river, from the tram line etc. The staff is very helpful. My room was very quiet. My beds were super-comfortable. Breakfast was great.
The toilet of my room (a "superior" room!) di not have a bidet. This is surprising for Spain, and for a hotel of this category. I would have liked to find a complimentary bottle of water in my room.

This hotel is a WOW! The building is beautiful, located in a quate square that is a few minute walk from all the major attractions of the city - the square with the cathedral, El tubo (unforgettable culinary experience!!!)) ,and the main street. The hotel interior is renovated with a great taste and comfort, and the staff is super friendly and nice. Great value for money. Can't wait for vising there again!
