Wonderful stay. First, it's like an oasis of a property. You cannot tell from the outside how lush and beautiful the courtyards and pool area are. It's also got perhaps the only restaurant with air conditioning in town, and the food was quite good. Breakfast was excellent each day. The shady areas are relaxing and so pleasant. The staff was always very kind and attentive and helped us arrange taxis and gave useful suggestions. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Most hotels turn on the air conditioning before you arrive so that it's not a million degrees in the room. But this is a small thing.

We were very happy with this outstandingly clean hotel and our beautifully decorated, spacious room and large, very comfortable bed ensuring a good night's sleep. The latter is always the most important to us but this hotel offers so much more: a friendly welcome in a peaceful ambiente of lusciously green courtyards with different seating areas in individually and artfully decorated areas whose unique charm of understated luxury combines perfectly with a feeling of warmth and homeyness making you feel relaxed the minute you enter. The cherry on top was the delicious food in the restaurant - an unexpected delight of perfectly cooked juicy fish and mixed grill, so perfectly flavoured with its herbs and light tasty sauce that it reminded us of the best meals enjoyed during our years living in France. Do not miss the pear with ice cream for dessert!

Very hard to find anything because everything was so wonderful. Maybe some scented sachets in the room.

The on-site restaurant offered a diverse menu of delectable dishes crafted with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. What a spectacular stay! Los Almendros de San Lorenzo is a truly special place. We stayed for a few days during New Year's during a family trip to El Salvador. What a magical experience! The hotel is lovingly cared for and beautifully maintained. So much beauty and art awaits in this beautiful hotel, as well as a gorgeous pool, wonderful breakfasts, and great hospitality. We enjoyed a beautiful New Year's Eve dinner with live jazz band. Suchitoto is incredibly beautiful! We enjoyed a boat ride and saw hundreds of gorgeous birds resting on the shimmering waters. This is a truly special hotel in a beautiful place. I highly recommend staying at Los Almendros de San Lorenzo and visiting beautiful Suchitoto if you are in El Salvador! So much joy and beauty!

Hands down, one of the best hotels we have stayed at, anywhere in the world. Very charming. You feel like you are stepping into a lovely museum, with period furnishings and antiques all around you. From the moment we entered to the time we left, the staff was attentive and courteous. They promptly handled our needs with flair and discretion. The extremely talented chef served mouthwatering meals at lunch and dinner. Tip: have the maracuya cheesecake for dessert. We had breakfast in the lovely courtyard by the fountain. The pool is picturesque, surrounded by lush vegetation. For those of us accustomed to U.S. or European prices, both room and dining are very reasonable in comparison. And the best part is that San Salvador is only 5 hours from both New York and California. Our only regret was that we were at Los Almendros de San Lorenzo for a short time but we can easily return for a long weekend.

The location and pool were divine!

We had a group of 3 and didn't realize the second bed was in a living room that was open, with no doors and more like a couch. Some of the photos on the listing confused us and we probably should have looked more closely too - just wanted to warn if you have 2 couples traveling together or something there's not much privacy.

The nicest "restored villa" type hotel we've encountered in El Salvador. Hands down, the best thus far. From the great location, to the rooms, to the pool, to the cozy bar, to the air conditioned restaurant, to the friendly staff, the whole place was quite impressive.

No coffee maker at the room (however easy to get one from the nice people working there), some refurbishment would be necessary

Great staff, helped with bags, cool policy on garden smoking. Drinks and vegan breakfast were excellent. Loved the pool. The place has an authentic, rustic charm. Highly recommended.

It would have been good if they provided a steamer for clothes and slippers.

I am so glad I booked my stay at San Lorenzo. The entire staff was welcoming, helpful and made me feel like it was my home away from home. The pool was perfect for cooling off after the warm days. The food was also delicious. I will definitely come back and recommend to others.
