We had a great stay at Battambang Resort—an excellent hotel with a peaceful setting just outside the town. The pool was clean and perfect for cooling off, and the rooms were spacious and well-maintained. We stayed in both garden and lakeview rooms, and would definitely recommend going for the lakeview if available—much nicer outlook and atmosphere. The restaurant staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was tasty. A small note: portions at lunch and dinner could be a little more generous. We also had a minor issue with electricity in one room, but it was fixed very quickly by the staff, which we appreciated. A lovely bonus for families was the mini golf course—our kids loved it, and we ended up playing three times! As for Battambang town itself, we weren’t hugely inspired by it, so wouldn’t recommend spending too long there. The resort, however, was a real highlight—calm, welcoming, and a great place to relax. Would definitely recommend for families or anyone wanting a quieter base with great service.

Two minor points - portions in restaurant could be improved along with speed. Breakfast also was a buffet and it could be a better experience to deliver the menu you have displayed.

Not much more to say than has been said before, this is a gorgeous bolthole, a delightful place to chill out, beautifully designed, extremely well maintained, sweet staff, good kitchen. We'd done 9 days of full on temple tramping including the Northern circuit where there's nowhere nice to stay. We booked a lake room at Battambang for 4 nights r n r and it served us perfectly. We mostly sat on our terrace beside the lake enjoying the geckos, cicadas, birdlife and waterlilies, with a couple of ventures out, to walk around and enjoy the town's splendid late Art Deco architecture and then to "collect" all the hanging and box girder bridges - one of which also produced a river level bamboo bridge and hangout with gorgeous local Saturday afternoon riverside activities. We ate well 3 nights out of 4 on the terrace, venturing out the 4th to The Gecko a few minutes drive away and wished we'd stayed at "home".

Well, it's wedding season, so the unbelievably loud music and what sounds to Westerners like ranting goes on most of the night. But it's local colour and is the same everywhere in Cambodia at this time of year.

Everything about the resort is comfortable and stylish - the room, the gorgeous pool, the grounds and the owners, who are wonderfully warm and welcoming and around to chat with. The front desk staff was also incredibly helpful with granular tips for things to see and do. We found the restaurant food better than we usually expect in hotels and happily ate dinner there a couple nights rather than go into town. Basically, we enjoyed every minute at Battambang Resort and would just as happily return..

The resort is farther from town than other accommodations so we had to build a bit of extra time and coin into getting around. To offset the inconvenience, the resort covers the cost of one Tuktuk ride every day into the city, which was much appreciated; it's about $3 each way. Additionally, the tour guide Kim we hired for a couple private tours did not charge extra to pick us up at the resort. The slight distance is not a deal-breaker at all but is a consideration for travelers who prefer their attractions right outside the door.

We loved the Battambang from the moment we arrived until we left. The well thought out rooms, spacious and functional as well as comfortable. The staff who were unfailingly friendly and helpful, even when we were in Siem Reap and our taxi didn’t arrive they were immediately responsive. The grounds are delightful - we were lucky enough to have a lake view room and we were visited on our terrace by geckos, frogs, fireflies and kingfishers as well as many other birds during our stay. It was lovely to experience nature at such close quarters! We also enjoyed the food very much, opting to eat here every night and also sometimes at lunch. The pool was a lovely place to spend time when the heat of the day got too much.

Nothing, it’s a tuk-tuk ride away from time which made it a peaceful place to retreat to.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. Their English is very good which makes it easy to organise trips and tours plus you can charge tuk tuk costs back to your room and they will organise these for you. Our driver was fabulous and gave us a lot of information about the history of the area. The food was delicious with an extensive, value for money menu. We ate all of our meals in Battambang at the resort restaurant and no dish disappointed. In fact the Fish Amok was the best out of three I had in Cambodia - it was divine. A lot of past reviewers have mentioned the breakfast - we would agree, the buffet is not great. But, if you ask for the menu items, e.g. omelette, or the soup they are lovely. The gardens are just beautiful and I took many photos of the flowers. I had a chat with a staff member who said that the owner was a great employer who treated the staff very well taking them on trips and ensuring that tips were shared with all staff - not just those front-of-house. It was lovely to know this and hear that staff are genuinely happy. As mentioned by another reviewer the missing pool tiles do need to be replaced as they could cut someone and it's not a good look. I was surprised at some of the negative reviews I read here because we would not hesitate to stay at Battambang Resort again.

The staff here were lovely, helpful and friendly. The room was light, very spacious and cool. There was a great sitting area outside. The pool is wonderful, clean with a good supply of loungers and set in really well maintained gardens. The whole resort was one of the best we have stayed in. We ate breakfast and our evening meals at the hotel. Every dish we had was really tasty and some of the best food we have had in south east Asia, both the western and local asian dishes, all served with a smile. We loved it.

We stayed three nights we could easily have stayed much longer.

Everything was amazing from the staff, to the decoration, the room and the environment. The hotel staff can arrange for you everything (circus, tuktuk, taxi). You also have one free way to the city center with tuktuk. They also take great care of you and help you if you need assistance to plan your day in battambang. The restaurant and breakfast are extremely good, specially the khmer food (try the nom ban chok). Probably the best hotel i ever visited.

Absolutely nothing

The staff was so nice, we had a mango tree with a ripe mango ready to pick. The staff gave us the method to pick our own mango and watched us enjoy picking our own mango off the tree then eat it. It was so quiet and peaceful to just lay on the hammock and take a nap Plus the food on site was so good

The resort is a little outside the city BUT easy access to transportation. To be honest being outside the city had a lot of advantages

Beautiful peaceful setting, lovely pool, lovely food and the most helpful and friendly staff- arranging tuk tuks, trips and onward taxi- the staff really are so nice and kind. We were in a gorgeous lakeside villa . We only ate in once - our last night - and it was all set up beautifully by the pool and was the nicest food we had in Battambang . Cycled to gecko cafe and gift shop a km away which was also lovely . Did usual bats,circus and bamboo train which were all great , but the best thing was relaxing by the pool.

This is our 3rd stay here over the years. Our room was very clean with single beds as requested. The pool and surroundings are beautiful. Breakfast was nice and more than adequate.

As Aussies, we love our breakfast cereal. Would have loved to have that as another option for breakfast but that's a very minor thing and only our choice.
