My stay at Auberge Jeunesse Charleroi Youth Hostel was fantastic! The Hostel was impeccably clean and well-stocked with everything I needed. The reception staff were very accommodating and provided great local tips. Staying at Auberge Jeunesse Charleroi Youth Hostel was a pleasure. The location was perfect, the room was cozy and clean, and the staff were always available to answer our questions. Highly recommended!

The African guy at the Breakfast Room (kitchen staff) approached me during breakfast with an improper way and told me, "Next time do not sit at this table because it is reserved." There were two tables, one small without a "Reserved" sign and one with a sign. I sat at the table without the "Reserved" sign. The managers should educate him on how to great and approach guests in a professional and pleasant manner.

I booked this hostel for two nights and I don’t regret it at all. Is located in the city centre and is less than 5 mins walk to the train station to go to Brussels and there’s some nearby fast food restaurants that were quite nice. I noticed that the night staff were more welcoming and friendly that the morning staff. I speak specifically of Aurelio, very friendly, polite, professional and hardworking individual. Learnt from him a fun fact, and is that the famous French fries are not actually French fries but they originate from Belgium, so they’re actually Belgian fries, they’re called French because they speak French in Belgium but they’re not from France. Had no issues whatsoever during my stay. If I was to stay in the same city I’ll book same hostel. Is a small, cute and has an aesthetic decoration. I can’t give my opinion on breakfast because I missed it. The bed was a single but surprisingly quite comfortable. Nice selection of beers and with very affordable prices.

The only thing I can say as the rest was perfect is that the pillow to sleep is not very comfortable, is kind of bland.

The location is excellent, with a variety of shops, restaurants, and grocery stores nearby, making it very convenient. The staff at the front desk were welcoming and helpful. One of the best features is the proximity to the train station, which is within easy 5 min walking distance. As an international traveler, I particularly appreciated the bus service that dropped me off at the central station from the South Charleori Airport, from where I could easily walk to the facility. Breakfast was very nice too. Overall, the convenience and connectivity make this a highly recommended place to stay.

Adding air conditioning would help during warmer months, it gets quite stuffy without it.

If only all hostels were like this one! I arrived around midnight. The area is very safe and it is about three minutes from the Gare (Train Station) where buses from CRL airport arrive. The place is very spacious and clean, the staff pleasant and welcoming, very clear instructions. It was very hot, rather unusual for Belgium, so it was hot in the room as well, but otherwise, it was very comfortable, spotless clean. I absolutely loved the breakfast, there was so much to eat, and I do not often stay at hostels which offer free breakfast. I very much appreciated the closeness to the Gare.

Nothing, maybe some people would prefer to have curtains on the beds.

Even though I’m no longer a youngster, staff were very welcoming and helpful. The spacious, quiet, no frills en-suite room was spotlessly clean and beds had good quality memory foam mattresses. The room had large windows that opened widely. This helped cooling down the room on the hot summer’s night I stayed in the Auberge. The cold breakfast included in the price was a nice bonus. The Auberge is in a block opposite the central station close to the riverbank in a quiet shopping area with lots of eateries and a supermarket in the shopping centre nearby.

Great price, good clean family room and nice to have access to the bar and games room too. Staff were excellent, really friendly and knowledgable. Handy shopping mall nearby which also contained a supermarket.

The location is a bit scary. Particularly in the evening. No denying it’s incredibly convenient if you came by train or wish to travel that way onwards but for us (family of 4 on a European road trip with 2 kids) the area outside the hostel just felt dangerous and pretty rough. Due to our roof box/vehicle height we couldn’t use the underground car park and had to park on a nearby street overnight. I wouldn’t recommend! We were genuinely concerned as to whether our car would still be there or in once piece in the morning!! (It was - phew!) The hostel itself does feel very safe and clean inside and also perfectly appropriate for kids too which I was concerned about initially. Not too much noise in the corridors (at least not the night we spent there).

Located very close to the Charleroi central train station and bus stop for A1 which goes to/from airport, just a 5 minute walk and easy to find. Check in process was okay when got to reception. Private room was spacious and clean, en suite shower was very good, nice water pressure and temperature. Lots of plugs and light by the bed. Mattress and pillow comfy. Table and chairs in room. Breakfast buffet was very good, crepes, bread, fruit, spreads, ham/cheese, coffee machine and fruit juice machine and water.

Signs on door when we arrived at 11pm said reception was closed and door was closed and there were no instructions how to check in and open door, however we figured out we can press the bell button to open the door. Clearer signage for late arrivals is needed. Room was very hot at night as no air con. So windows open and got bitten by mosquitoes in the night. There is no kitchen or facilities to cook, make your own meal or snacks, no fridge, no hot water to make coffee/tea... For a hostel this is not good. They expect you to buy all drinks and snacks etc from the bar. Communal facilities even if just a kettle and cups would be a welcome addition. No towels or hand soap provided. You have to make own bed with sheets provided at check in.

Super cheap and located super close to the station where trains / flixbus / airport bus stop. The area is ok. In the evening we could find open shops and restaurants. Room was fine, as per photos, pretty spacious, with own bathroom. Reception was friendly. Also they are well aware of early flights and for breakfast leave some food available during the night.

Note that it's great for a hostel and for the price - beds may be too simple for more refined taste, you may need to pay a little extra for more towels etc.

It is less than 5 mins from station, the facilities were excellent. Staff were excellent, it was really good value for money. Breakfast was a continental breakfast but a buffet style. Still worth every penny.

There is nothing in the town, a couple of restaurants. Fast food places, a shopping centre next door, supermarket open till 730pm a 5 min walk. That's about it. Train fares are 20 euros to Brussels return 2 trains just over an hour.

We were really late, checking in around 1:30 am, our plane was delayed, that's why we missed the last bus and we had to pay a ridiculous amour of money for a 15 min cab ride from the airport, so we were exhausted and in terrible mood, but the front desk manager was excellent! He checked us in very quickly, was very nice and supportive, we even got free towels and felt better. The rooms were clean, location excellent and the price was great. Totally recommend
