this is a quaint place and the people who run it are charming . The rooms are beautifully decorated and the breakfast is served on English Roses china. The rooms are clean and the bed very comfortable. They offer occasional evening meals, or you can bring in a take away and eat it in the bar area. I like the little fridge with fresh milk and the crystal glasses in the room. Its a quiet location except when the locals are in the bar.

I've stayed here before, but this time Evelyn seemed a bit distracted. My friend and I both had hard poached eggs at breakfast whereas the breakfast is normally exceptional. On a Saturday evening the locals use the bar and it can be a bit noisy in the rooms, but it gets quieter after 9pm.

I received a very warm welcome on arrival from the owners. Easy to park close to the property. Absolutely spotless cosy, beautifully decorated room, containing everything you could possibly require for your stay, including fresh milk! Fabulous breakfast served in a traditional English dining room, on bone china plates with big band music playing in the background, what a treat! I highly recommend this B&B great experience and value for money

Absolutely nothing more required, you would not have this luxury and experience in a chain hotel! Great hosts!

Melody House is full of charm & character. Very welcoming. Our room was very comfortable, had everything needed including toiletries which you don't often get, plus tea & coffee facilities with fresh milk in the room fridge. There was also some slippers which was a nice touch. The room was emaculatley clean as was the whole house. The bar is well stocked, opens at 6pm until late. There's a very good selection for breakfast & you are given a choice of when you would like to eat. You can have everything on the menu should you wish! Audrey & Chris (the hosts) are very down to earth and friendly, we had fun conversations, really made you feel as though you'd known them for a long time.

There is nothing we didn't like. Added bonus free WiFi.

The breakfast was excellent, made to our needs. The staff (mother and son) were very friendly, and gave us lots of tips on what we could do in the area. The decor was quirky but lovely. Loved seeing all the pictures, medals, trinkets etc in the dining room, and our room was beautifully decorated. The bed was warm and comfy. Only minor issue was the Wifi, little tricky to keep access (but being without ensured those books we brought were read!) Would definitely stay again if we are in the area.

We were particularly pleased with the spaciousness of the en-suite facility of Bedroom 1. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the room and en-suite, and with the quality of the bedding and towels provided for us. The lay-out of the breakfast table, with its Royal Albert china, was a delight - as was the general decor of the dining room. It was nice to meet the owner of the establishment, and to have her serve us breakfast. She was clearly in charge.

There was nothing that we didn't like!

Excellent decor, breakfast service was top notch although apologetically, the lady did say she overdid the poached eggs (they were solid). Free parking directly outside. The bottle of milk in the room fridge was a nice touch.

Extreme noise from downstairs with loud music and chatter until 1200am. I had to work on the Saturday morning. Mattress quality was below average. The TV was too small to view comfortably. The gent that welcomed me was efficient in explaining things but I could not get hold of him in the morning or departure so paid online and left. The shower was a tight squeeze. Good luck if you are over 6 foot as that is the ceiling limit of the shower.

This property has considerable character with quality furnishings from an earlier period and an owner who has had a rich musical career in a big band. The room and especially the bathroom are spacious, with an old world appeal. Breakfasts were well prepared, tasty and hot where appropriate. The staff will offer useful advice on local highlights worth visiting.

The destination is 3 or 4 miles outside of Fakenham and in a quite location, with few shops or eating places. However this has advantages such as low noise levels and, as we travelled further afield on most days, we were always able to find an interesting destination for an evening meal.

Had an English breakfast which was exceptionally good. Lovely olde wolde vibe in the whole venue. Table meticulously laid with fine china. Hostess was friendly and served delicious food on time.

Had some difficulty finding the venue as it was cold and dark and about to snow. Had to stop, get out my torch and look for someone to ask where the venue was. It was difficult to see the name in the dark, even though my satnav took me close.

A nice big room, very clean and had all the facilities we needed, lovely tea and coffee choices and the mini fridge was really handy. Personally I found the chairs a bit too small and uncomfortable but the bed is huge and we both had a good night's sleep. The owners were caring enough to open all the windows for our arrival so the room was lovely and cool on a hot day, I also noted fans were available if desired. The fish and chip shop was very good quality and the village seemed very pleasant. Parking is down a little lane next to the fish and chip shop worth mentioning because we missed it to begin with. Breakfast was delicious fresh hot and extremely good quality. I'd definitely come back again after checking it wasn't a church bell ringing practice day!

THE CHURCH BELLS!! Hours of bell ringing on a hot day when you cannot close the windows, true it was off and on but not much of a break between sessions max 20mins but to us it felt constant and really loud, it also set off a lot of dog barking clearly they hated it as much as us. Completely out of the very nice owners control and a marmite thing but worth checking if your stay coincides with a mammoth practice session if you don't like this sort of thing like us before booking.

This excellent B&B is in a quiet little village. We received a very friendly welcome and shown to a large comfortable room. Next door is a typically village pub with friendly locals. The bed was comfortable and peaceful. The delicious breakfast in the morning is served in a well decorated room.
