Amazing place, locations, rooms , staff and service was outstanding. Food in restaurant was also superb, my compliments to all the Sepilok Team for making my short stay a truly wonderful experience. The place is in the rainforest, so do expect insects and wildlife around, this should not be suprising, its a amazing place to get away from the city life. Thank you to everyone at the Sepilok Nature Lodge again, hope to see you all again soon :)
Loved it all

The rooms were clean and comfortable. The location is good and the grounds are nice.
I did not like that they insisted we have to have two rooms. We are a family with two small children and they insisted we could not all fit in one room. Because of limited options in the area, we booked two rooms as they insisted but upon arrival the rooms and bed accommodations were clearly large enough for us all to comfortably be in one room. I understand person limits for adults but for a family, I feel like this should be at our discretion.

Excellent staff, nice cottages, wonderful views within the Lodge area, good bar and restaurant on terrace overlooking the Lake ( Lake Bistro!) Excellent thin crust pizzas, by the way. And just a couple of minutes walk from the Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre, and the Sun Bear Cnservation area. Both well worth the visit.
The water supply is inconsistent ( and not potable) but the lodge does provide lots of bottled water, but it would be more environmentally responsible to ditch the plastic and invest in a water filter, or purification system.Especially in view of the reasosn we all come to Sepilok - to see the poor threatened species in their ecosystem. But in addition to this, the wiring in our cottage and outside in the pathways was very dodgy; sometimes we had light , and at other times we had only partial light, unpredictable as to which lights would light and when or even stranger, light bulbs that stayed semi-lit for long after they had been switched off. This does seem like a warning sign that all is not well with the wiring system.

Beautiful setting beside the Orangutan Sanctuary, in a very quiet area. Our lodge was spacious and set apart from the other lodges. It had a lovely extra large bed. The shower was in a very large space and had a wonderful rain shower. Our evening meal and breakfast in the restaurant was very tasty. I definitely advise guests to try the Sepilok Sling, which was a masterpiece of flower decoration and tasted as good.
The name of the lodge is confusing having changed its name. It is similar to another lodge that we went to first mistaking it for Sepilok Nature Lodge. A better sign at the entrance would help. Also there are 2 tracks as you enter from the road and again no clear sign to direct you where to park or where reception is. The reception sign is inside the building once you find an entrance. Otherwise it really is a lovely place to stay.

Clean room with good bathroom fixtures, lush setting with all kinds of trees and shrubbery. You can even see orangutans at the top of the trees on the hotel property! Location is walking distance to the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Center, and not far from the Rainforest Discovery Center.
It is the jungle, so you might see ants near the bathroom sink area, but no big deal. We used a bit of insect spray and it worked well. Not a problem, and expected as we are surrounded by nature with gorgeous trees everywhere. Restaurant food is okay, though a bit pricey, maybe because there are limited restaurants nearby.

As soon as you walk into Sepilok Nature Lodge, you get that instant “wow” feeling. A big wooden building by a pond houses the reception and restaurant, with lots of cozy seating areas. You are in nature! The only downside is that to the left, facing Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre (which is only a 5 mins walk away), you see an ugly brick building—probably built by someone else—which kind of ruins the view. Other than that, the grounds are beautifully designed, right on the edge of the real jungle, with paths leading to the cabins. And when you walk into one of those cabins, you get a second “wow” moment. They’re beautifully styled, with lots of wood and all the modern comforts: air conditioning, a mini fridge, a bathtub out front, a shower, a big bed—you name it. You really couldn’t wish for more. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and the restaurant is great too. Overall, this was the best place we stayed at in Borneo.
A small downside is the breakfast—you can only choose from fixed “sets,” which feels unnecessarily rigid.

This is such a beautiful place! I loved to walk around and get a feel for the nature and of the jungle. There is a path around a facility and a pond, where you can stroll, listen to the sounds of frogs, and even observe hornbills. Our chalet was lovely and the room was beautifully decorated. We also loved the possibility to hang a hammock.
- We were charged about 5€ extra for a couple of (basic) toast during breakfast. The breakfast we chose did not have toast included (but had eggs) so we asked if you could take toast from the buffet. But when we got the bill, we realised that was probably the most expensive couple of toast in our lives. While we found it funny, we also thought that was a cheap thing to do! - Our chalet had a beautiful bathroom with a big tub. However, the water pressure was so low and there was so little hot water available that I couldn't fill the tub over 10cm of water, and therefore couldn't use it to take a bath. That was such a pity!

The cabins or bungalows are lovely. Most, including ours, are nestled among tropical plants and trees. It is incredibly peaceful and picturesque. I sat outside and enjoyed the tranquility, listening to birds and insects and could occasionally hear a distant monkey or elephant. It was heaven! We saw red leaf monkeys just over head in the canopy two days in a row. We also made friends with Nan, our waiter. Who was kind and helpful and has a great smile. He taught us several words in Bahasi. When our Grab car didn’t show up, the hotel manager was quick to help us get a maxim taxi. We made it to the airport with plenty of time to spare… in less than 30 minutes.

The lodges were really spacious, comfortable and clean. They were well sealed and I didn’t have any insects etc in the lodge. There was even a bath! The staff organised a couple of trips to help make the most of my (just under) 48h there. I enjoyed the night walk starting at the rainforest discovery centre and would highly recommend the boat trip on the Kanibatangan river - loads of wildlife to be seen! The Sun Bear and Orang Utan conservation centre are just 5 minutes walk away.
There is WiFi in the public areas only. The food was fine but not amazing. However it is easiest to eat there as there aren’t really any nearby alternatives for an evening meal

Great eco lodge conveniently located a short walk to the Orangutang Rehab Centre and the Sun Bear Conservation Centre. Nice grounds and cabins. The food at their restaurant was very good and the staff were wonderful. Would highly recommend the Sepilok Nature Lodge if you want to spend time in the Borneo rainforest.
Minor complaint is that the air conditioning unit in our cabin wasn’t keeping our cabin cool enough in the Borneo heat.
