Apart from some seafront hotels used by large coach tours, the Andover House Hotel is one of few, quality private hotels in Great Yarmouth. Best approached from the seaward side, the hotel offers reasonable, warm and comfortable accommodation. My food, off the relatively limited and expensive dinner menu, turned out to be very well cooked and enjoyable.

The hotel is a longish walk from the town centre, if arriving by public transport, and because of widespread deprivation throughout Great Yarmouth, the historic resort area in which the hotel is located, is best approached from the well maintained and lit seafront.

Nice modern hotel with period features, really nice spacious room (we had the Thyme suite), excellent breakfast and first-class staff in all areas. Handy location in terms of just being off the beaten track meaning it’s only a 2 minute walk to the seafront.

Parking was an issue during the busy BH weekend we visited with all spaces immediately outside the hotel taken, many with cars that looked to have not moved in months. It’s probably less of an issue off-peak season though. We ended up having to park some distance away down a side street…it was free so that was good but it was a 10 minute walk past some, putting it politely, less-than-desirable properties and people. In fact, such a nice hotel being in the immediate vicinity of these undesirables is a shame, but once inside the hotel itself it delights throughout.

Lovely hotel. We stayed in the superior ground floor king room. Huge comfy bed and room. Lots of space. Very clean and modern. We stayed in really hot weather but the room was lovely and cool. We didn't have breakfast or use the restaurant or bar so can't comment on them. Parking was really easy and got a space right outside the hotel. We would definitely stay here again. We really enjoyed our stay.

We found the water in the shower quite hard and it dried our skin. I ended up with a flaky face just from showering. East Anglia is a hard water area as we live in Norfolk . I dont know if Hotel Andover has a water softener but they should invest in one if they haven't. Everything else was perfect.

I had a really comfortable stay. The hotel is stunning. When I arrived at the hotel I was greeted by very nice staff, very informative and friendly, check in was quick. My room was lovely, all the things you could need such as a standing fan, iron and ironing board, lots of tea/coffee etc were in the room so I did not need to ask for anything. I travelled alone and booked a small double room. The room was clean, beautifully decorated, everything worked and was in great condition, plenty of space to move around, plenty of plug sockets and placed near mirrors which was helpful for hair and makeup, I slept really well, no complaints. The curtains are thick material keeping the light out, and throughout the night I did not hear any other guests and I am usually a light sleeper. I did hear a couple of doors shutting in the morning as people were leaving but minimal noise, nothing that was disturbing. There is a phone in the room and menu for the room service which is useful if you wish to remain in your room. The bedding and towels were good quality. You can see they take great pride throughout the hotel. First time I have travelled to Great Yarmouth and if I need to go again later this summer I shall stay here again. I had a great experience. I drove and found parking on the street outside the hotel. There is no car park as such, however there is lots of on street parking, failing that there is pay and display car parks along the sea front, but I had my car on the street outside free of charge with no issues. My room was facing the main street, peaceful at night. They do offer breakfast for an additional charge, however I did not have breakfast here due to meeting family so unable to comment on breakfast. Check out was quick, again very polite, friendly staff. The price is brilliant for the quality you get, great staff, the location is great, it is so close to everything that I did not need to use my car until I left the next morning. I had a really nice stay here.

The smell in the bathroom was really awful made me throw up in the morning -but I have been told by next year all the toilet systems will be re newed

The staff were excellent, very friendly and informative. The 2 x double rooms booked were clean & comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

Shower cubicle a little small-ok for me but my partner is very broad and had to turn sideways to get into the shower. Other than that, everything absolutely fine. Also, the location was brilliant! Close to seafront, beach, bars & restaurants.

Dinner was excellent. The bar was welcoming. Breakfast was very good but I would have liked to see a fruit bowl. The hotel has been recently redecorated to a high standard and seems well-maintained. The bathroom was very nice with a large shower. The rooms were quiet and the bed comfy with a good selection of pillows. Nice temperature throughout. Service overall was excellent.

The steam extraction in my bathroom could have been better.

A BEAUTIFUL room with large windows on. A quiet street just steps away from the livelier street by the beach. Perfect location, honey feel and lovely staff (and menu !!) 🙏

Stayed here before, had same room which we liked with wonderful bathroom. Staff are always excellent, really friendly and helpful.

Would have liked a fridge in the room and 'real' milk for morning tea would have been the icing on the cake, and it does happen in some good hotels. Could have done without the window cleaner while we were still getting ready, had to draw the curtains again. No real complaints though.

Excellent stay. Staff excellent, room comfortable and clean. Would definitely recommend.

Only one thing that could have been better if it had air conditioning but this was an exceptionally hot night and I still slept very well.
