The staff at Kohlers Hotel Engel was absolutely lovely and helpful. The room was comfortable and spacious and we really loved the breakfast which had a bit of everything for everyone. We also had a dinner at their restaurant which was amazing. We came for Easter weekend to go hike in the Black Forest and the hotel was ideally located if you have a car to drive to the main hiking points. It's quiet and they even have electric charging stations to plug your car in the Hotel parking, which was very convenient for us. The spa area was also a big +, it's smaller than your tipical spa, but clean and surpisingly well done for a small hotel like this one. I recommend this place and would book it again !

Very good modern rooms in a traditional family run German hostelry. Friendly service from staff interested in customers needs

Only 1 thing. The pillows were useless ( no head support) and there were only 1 one each bed with no spares in the room. There should a firmer pillow option for those who need it.

Breakfast was excellent. Choice of selective serials, eggs and drinks. Coffee served at the tables. Rooms had space enough and were quiet. Location of the hotel was perfect for a relaxing stay.

Wellness facilities were off when we enter the wellness area. One hour was lost to fix this problem by the owner.

In my case the hotel was used on my way back from Italy. It's conveniently close to the highway and easily reachable, but far enough away that you don't hear it. The hotel has plenty of parking available. The room was spacious and the breakfast was very good.

My room had the shower under the slanted roof, which made it almost impossible to stand under it. The bed was not the most comfortable, but was ok.

We used this hotel for a stop over, and it was very good for that. Close to the highway, restaurant available, good room, good breakfast. But the hotel deserves more, could be a good place to spend a few days and enjoy the Schwarzwald (Black Forrest).

Everything was good or excellent.

Everything in this hotel is high quality and great attention to details. Wasn’t cheap, but WAY cheaper then staying in Baden Baden, and only at 15 min drive away. Spotless clean, super polite, great food, nice spacious rooms, great spa facilities with available towels and bath robes. Oh, and a nice play room for kids! Such a pleasure for us and kids!

After a full day of travelling, we got there just before last check in and they kept the kitchen open so we could eat, couldn’t have asked for nicer and friendly staff! Lovely first night stay in Europe:)

Can’t say anything bad about it.

I have stayed here before but it has been a few years. In the meantime the owners have invested in a completely new wing and refurbished. The bar and restaurant remain the same, which is a good thing. Plenty of help from the friendly staff.

I honestly can't think of anything to improve on

Breakfast and dinner were delicious. The hotel has a great staff with exquisite manners.

The lack of air conditioning in the room and the fact the my room was under the roof made my stay less comfortable than I expected.
