Due to past reviews I was expecting the worst. I only wanted to stay overnight in Great Yarmouth so opted for this place. From the get go, it was clean, decorated nicely. The man on the front desk was lovely and informative. Finding the room was quite a maze but it made it a bit fun. Once in the room, it was lovely. Clean bedding, big tv, even had a fridge. Bed was comfortable which made me sleep easy.

Only down side was the shower head was broken but the shower still worked, so was okay.

The hotel has a lot of character and the facilities ( although dated ) are ideal for what we needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was a great size for the 3 of us and we had a view of the sea. Outside there is a smoking / seating area which is quiet and peaceful and full of pretty plants. Free parking too which was very handy. I would describe this hotel as quirky and old fashioned ( in a good way) it was great for us and a perfect base for our short stay weekend.

The stairs were hard work but that is due to us being on the 2nd floor and the fact I have copd and arthritis in my legs. One of the beds in our room was broken however there was another one in there to use but maybe could do with an upgrade when possible.

Unfortunately breakfast isn't provided however the location is amazing close to the beach fair and acades you just have to cross the road. You can easily find a cafe that provide breakfast with in just a short walk.My children loved how easily accessible everything was. The room was everything we needed love the big fridge and microwave. We read a few reviews about cold showers however we had no problem having hot showers during our stay.

The mattress could do with updating on the double bed. The WiFi is very weak and my children and I struggled to connect while staying in the basement.

Very clean bedrooms. Friendly staff. The vintage lift. The back smoking area. Parking area. Budget hotel offering basic accommodation. There was a fridge and microwave in the bedrooms. We didn't care for it, but I can see it being handy for some guests.

Old building in need of some renovation and old decoration. We could see that they are renovating the space slowly. I would get rid of the old prints covering the walls. It gives the place a dated and cheap feel. Some colour would lively up the place. The old lift is a lovely feature, but my sugestion it to remove the cheap tiles and add some victoriana style wallpaper.

Second room was fantastic however as I wish to give an honest review the first room was a s*** hole. I was with my kids & we walked in there was toilet paper on the floor in the bathroom ,other small bits of rubbish on the floor & cobwebs in the corner of the room not to mention that it needed a lick of paint but the kids couldn't get the WiFi on so I went down & complained they said they would either get the WiFi working or move me.but he did move us to a basement room & that room was amazing ,very clean fresh & modern looking. I wish I could of rated the smilie faces of both rooms

The 1st room was very poor

Helpful staff - especially one gentleman to whom we had a few questions - was happy to answer. Great location. Close to the beach, I came mainly for work, I did photo sessions on the beach so the distance was crucial. Using the elevator with manually sliding doors was an interesting experience! Free hotel parking available. Affordable prices. We are happy. The weather was good. A successful business trip.

Small rooms. I lacked space to spread out my laptop and work comfortably. However, I managed. :) There was also a lack of a cooling fan.

Location of hotel, friendliness of staff. My room was small but it had a television, a microwave, a fridge & and a kettle. Water was always changed, and bins were always emptied. The shower was excellent. Wifi was not so great but had television as entertainment for news and channels I liked, but I was there mainly to go on the sea front and enjoy the weekend as I was seeing family. Would I use this hotel again? Yes, I would, especially considering it was a last-minute booking I had to get.

Noise from up above due to children running as I had a basement room poor WiFi no breakfast wish there was a full breakfast, but was happy to have coffee, tea & cereal. Parking was a problem late evening if I had been out driving, but it was free, so it was good. Loss of phone signal in basement room I had to go upper ground to make a phone call, but WhatsApp worked when WiFi worked well.

Excellent place to relax. Not the highest class of hotel but very pleasant to stay in. Almost a throw back to 70's. Absolutely love this place. Staff are very polite, facilities basic but functional. Location 100 yards from the beach. Parking included. This has everything you could need for a short break.

Not quite sure why microwave in room with no plates or cutlery. Could easily put in a kitchenette are on the corridor. Somehow they always give me a room with a view of a wall! 😊Sure nothing personal!

Loved the customer service and friendliness of the staff, comfy bed, I love the way the staff did all the could to change over the TV when it was not working well, Great Microwave, fridge was excellent the bath facilities were great and to be complimented with shower gel is a top mark and including the soap. Very quick responsive in messaging from the property. Good value of money for the price your paying. Wardrobe was good to use plenty of space and nice chest of draws. Nice fish tank. Had a fabulous time! We was kindly told that there was no fan in the room due to fire safety reasons the what I believe was the hotel manger at the time.

Unfortunately no fan in the room made it a bit stuffy in the room though we did have the window open. There seemed to be no 236 channel on the tv but not a major issue. There seemed to be noise on level 3 with people stamping their feet in the corridor after mid night which could be a problem for people trying to sleep and my partner was not overall impressed

We liked the location and the free parking. The room was clean, bed was clean and shower spotless. That’s all we wanted.

It’s not the Ritz but it was very acceptable for the price. Clean room, hot water, tea and coffee and a really comfy bed. If I was to get really picky. Room 127 over looks the back garden, no problem with that. However, they have works going on, not that we saw them or heard them. There was scaffolding up and over our room and a ladder to access it. The window that over looks the scaffolding doesn’t lock. So, somewhat vulnerable. Didn’t stop us from having a good nights sleep.
