The old hotel was undergoing an updating and makeover. It is difficult to blend the old and the new but the internet was very good with plenty of plugs and e charger connections

was not keen on the on floor kitchenette instead of in room kettle and tea and coffee preparation. Prefer the in room privacy and convenience. Hotel room doors lock automatically so popping out to get something to drink means taking passkey with you and trying to carry two hot mugs of beverage back to your room and opening a door with a strong desire not to be opened. Can see accidents happening with hot drinks being spilled in the attempt to gain room accesss

The property was clean and newly renovated. Beautiful old building with convenience of modern touches. Good restaurants inside the building and kind staffs. Well heated rooms throughout the night. Good location for ballooning and town amenities nearly. Possibly the fanciest stay in Northam!

The bed was a bit hard and it was a struggle to find comfortable position. Tea room could use a dishwasher or tea towel to dry items (where do we leave washed/ wet cups and spoons?) Due to the nature of accomodation there aren't many different room types and they can't cater twin bed requirements.

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to the night manager Anthony Reece. Absolutely amazing person and staff member. Helped us out enormously as our hot air balloon experience was cancelled and we were able to adjust our stay on Thursday evening for the next stay. When we rebook the experience I hope to use the hotel again for this reason. And hope this review gets back to him and he is acknowledged for his stellar customer service.

The hotel is quirky, still has a new feel and was very clean. Communication was excellent and greeted by a very friendly male. It was a perfect base for our hot air balloon ride.there was endless amount of tea and coffee in a communal area to access at any time. We loved being at the back of the premises and watched sunset from our private balcony.

I was concerned that with being up very early to leave for our hot air balloon would wake other guests when we made a coffee at 4.45am but in fact the building seems very soundproof.

Can not recommend this place enough! Newly renovated, it still has a character feeling to it which is what you want when you come to a small town. The amenities were fantastic! From the extremely comfortable beds and pillows, to the beautiful bathrooms with Aesop toiletries and bonus travel packs, to the many choices of mood lighting and great TV with the newest movies all free to watch, I couldn't recommend this place enough!! Great staff and Temperance Bar just down stairs

Amazing transformation of an old iconic country hotel, beautiful! It’s a close walk to the Avon River path to enjoy the swing bridge and view the healthy happy local white swans 🦢

Bathroom lighting terrible for applying makeup. Price expensive for country hotel and no room amenities. You have to go to shared common room for kettle/tea condiments, so have to get dressed and out of room to make one’s morning cuppa😟

Beautifully restored landmark, bright and cheerful room, great bar, excellent location, super comfortable bed, good amenities, incl. Bluetooth speaker, quiz night at bar was fun! Loved the booklets with info on history of hotel and Northam.

We selected the smaller room (18sq meters) but, in hindsight, a bigger room would have been better value for money. Smaller room had limited space for luggage and for relaxing between activities in and around town.

Fresh clean nicely appointed room and bathroom good disability access. Very convenient access to Dome Cafe. Dôme cafe staff professional & accommodating. Hotel reception personnel, friendly & welcoming.

Pretty useless size in-room bar fridge. Hotel personnel failed to follow through with arrangement for internal Dôme door to be unlocked - enabling hotel guests meeting Liberty Balloon staff at 04:30hrs

Lovely setting. Very comfortable room

Check in - arrived after 6 and followed instruction. First went to bar and was told to go to Dome. The man at Dome was not very friendly. Told me to wait in reception and he will come. After 20 minutes I went to look for him and he had gone on a break. A lady then came and helped. She was lovely. Very noisy outside late at night/early hours of morning.

We purchased breakfast and dinner at the local Dome cafe, all meals were excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and enabled us to book a second night when a room became available after a cancellation, they contacted us as soon as possible and enabled us to check-in around lunchtime to the second room.

The downstairs bar had an open fire that created smoke that moved up to the hotel levels, this triggered a smoke alarm and exit of the hotel at 9:00pm. The staff were very nice and apologetic.
