The Rec has obviously had a decent reno fairly recently. Although the facade and finer details are from the early 1900s, it was still modern feeling and comfortable. The room was equipped with two comfortable beds (one queen/double) and one single/king single, a cupboard, chair, tele, and bar fridge. Although the bathroom facilities were shared, there was readily available showers and toilets with privacy that were clean. The top floor verandah was a great place to unwind. Easy and free parking. And the restaurant was REALLY good, reasonably priced and exceptional food. The topper was the friendly staff at reception and in the restaurant.

Nothing I didn't like, but the only addition that could add to the stay would be some comfy chairs/lounges on the verandah.

The room was in the "stables" away from the main pub, small but comfortable and quiet, with microwave and kettle. The pub food was really good for the evening meal. It's a bit away from the main shopping street. As I was going on a hot-air balloon flight the next morning (4.15am start!!) they offered me a late check-out if I wanted to come back after the flight. I didn't choose to do that, but it was nice to be offered. I just put my keys in the box provided as I left under cover of darkness.

Nothing to mention - a decent place for a short stay.

Staff where excellent from the time we arrived until we departed. The overall property condition was comfortable and inviting. The food was delicious and accommodating to most tastes and on comparison for value. The Rec is in great proximity to anything you might want or need either walking distance or short drive. We were happily surprised on arrival as properties often promise and not deliver. This was not the case with the Rec hotel.

If there was one thing I would mention is that the delux queen stable accommodation although well presented and comfortable, sound proof it isn't we could here the guest in the adjoining room and they weren't being particularly loud. Minor issue really but for the picky traveller could be a point.

Room was well appointed though toilet oddly situated. The room temperature was nice with air conditioner and ceiling fan.Parking on site. Dinner was nice and karaoke night fun. Mini bar available.

No one at Reception. Went to bar and staff member called on a female who was too busy eating and talking to head his request! Eventually one of the other bar staff checked me in. Bought a bottle of wine Howard Park Pinot Noir, $30 mark up on $20 bottle of wine at Grand Cru! and the person assumed I had a Seniors Card. Found the bar staff lacking in professionalism, I don't like being addressed as "love" or "darling".I know it's a country town but upskill your staff.

As 3 Single Adult friends we enjoyed our stay in the family room very much. Friends from York joined us for lunch at your outdoor restaurant, very tasty food. We also ate Dinner there and enjoyed.

A very minor.......Working out how to use the T.V. (we are Seniors). Maybe a list of places to see and where to eat in Northam.

Place is very clean and been given a modern do- over. We booked the deluxe triple room located in a small complex over the road. Very new and clean, basic amenities like kettle etc in room. Was quiet and had reverse cycle A/c

Outside lights were kept on all night and the blinds don't cover the whole window - room wasn't very dark to sleep.

The staff were very welcoming and offered good old fashioned customer service which is hard to find these days. We had dinner at the hotel and it was delicious. Again, service was spot on! The rooms were clean, bed comfortable and bed linen nice and clean, heater/air con in room, shared bathrooms were immaculate with all linen provided clean and in good condition. We parked onsite with plenty of spaces available. As we were getting up early, we took advantage of self-checkout using the dropbox. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return and recommend to other.

Quiet room, good space to work or relax. Staff were pleasant and prompt. Food was good and fast.

Shower and A/C had an issue suggesting room could have been checked or maintained better. However the staff were fast to provide solutions and very nice about my feedback.

The chalet was nice and spacious, clean and quiet. Bed was comfortable.

The kitchen was understaffed for a very busy weekend, resulting in very long delays to dinner both nights. The staff were apologetic and offered drinks/desserts as compensation, but it took the shine off our weekend.

Room and facilities are (relatively) cheap and cheerful. Clean and well presented.

I wasn't told where the check out key drop-off box was, and set off the alarm when I looked in the office lol. Either it had moved from last time I stayed, or I just forgot it was in the courtyard. My mate in another room said he did the same thing. A sign may be useful :-)
