The pictures online are outdated, so we were pleasantly surprised to find our room was much more up to date. It looked similar to a hotel inside, spacious, and a quiet location. The front desk guy was very friendly and helpful. He gave us an extra bath towel when we arrived and made sure we had everything we needed. The parking lot is joined with a trailer park/mobile home area, but it didn’t take away from our pleasant stay. We were in town visiting family, so it was a convenient and very comfortable place to stay for the weekend. The beds were comfortable and felt clean, the bathroom was very clean and had nice bathing products provided, and our patio room had a sliding door that we could open for some fresh air. The only downside is that there doesn’t appear to be any AC in the rooms, unless they add units during hotter months. For this time of year, cracking a window was perfect as we like to have a cool room and we could listen to the rain. They also had a couple vending machines and an ice machine, but we did not use. We had requested fans for the room but we also didn’t need them. The couch pulled out for an extra bed. The patio wasn’t much but it looked out to grass and trees. Would definitely choose this motel again over some of the other options in the area that desperately need updating and are charging more.
Nothing, other than possibly no AC. That would be an important feature if I was staying during the summer. But again, I don’t know if they add units to the rooms later on.

I needed a place reasonably close to Stevens Pass ski area, which I went to the next day. It's an old motel that's well kept up and served my needs for a basic place to spend the night. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom adequate. There are good restaurants on the main street about a mile away from the motel. I would stay there again.
The room was a bit small and crowded. It might be difficult for a couple who would have a lot of luggage. It is off the main highway and difficult to find, especially at night.

There wasn't anything to really dislike about the accommodations. I admit I was surprised to find it was an old style motel but all I was seeking was a clean quiet place to get some sleep between work schedule. The Monroe Motel filled the bill would definitely stay there again.
Oh one thing does come to mind, for not a whole lot of money the owners could upgrade the windows in the units, would keep the rooms a bit warmer and potentially save on heating costs over time.

Well kept and I loved having the river right outside my window.
At first glance it seemed a bit run down, but you can quickly tell a lot of love and care goes in to maintaining the property. I was disappointed that the vending machines didn’t work, but not the end of the world. If I’m being nitpicky, the toilet paper flaked apart when trying to get off the roll. But hey, who wants to spend tons of money to wipe out…

The queen bed was very comfortable. I had a room farther from the road so it was quieter. The fridge was larger and quieter than most. It didn’t freeze my food items. I appreciated that I didn’t have to pay extra for HBO and BBC.
I think it’s time for a new tub! I would have liked a safety lock on the door.

Large room, comfortable, clean and well-maintained older property. Easy access to room. Sliding back door to patio area. Would stay there again.
No A/C, the room, the bathroom, and the furniture is not handicap friendly. Access to the property is on a limited site turn.

From very first interaction I could tell the man who greeted us was very accommodating. He saw that we had our kids with us and asked if we would like bedding for the pull out sofa. Which we didn’t need for our one night stay, but I was grateful for the offer. After getting back right after midnight from visiting with our local family we accidentally locked our keys in the room right before anyone was in the room. With two kids in the car and tears welling up in my eyes not wanting to be disruptive, I had no other option but to press the “ring” doorbell at the front office and hope that someone came. My heart sank with joy when he came to the door and he didn’t make me feel bad to disturbing him so late. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality. it’s always appreciated.
I honestly wish we had more time to get to enjoy its beauty next to the river. I’ve never been a fan of trains, but I’ve always slept with a fan, so white noise took care of that.

Quiet location. Off the busy streets. Room had been updated. Beds were nice. Sliding door to a nice outside space. Clean. People were helpful and nice.
The fan in the bathroom was noisy. I couldn't get a real room receipt.

I had brought an unwrapped wedding present; I asked for a recommendation for where to get a nice gift bag. The proprietor said, "Wait a moment," then emerged with a beautiful gift bag that he had on hand. Having some spare time before the wedding, I asked about local attractions. The proprietor gave me directions to a local park; the room-cleaner relayed very specific road-crossings and cautions - and I had a wonderful adventure! None of this would have happened at a big chain motel. The cross-breeze in my room was lovely. The management had even set up chairs down by the creek, giving me a magical setting for reading. And the proprietor directed me to his favorite grocery store and Thai restaurant. I lacked for nothing!
